John Boehner Unchained

WEST CHESTER, Ohio—He swings the golf club like a right-hander, which he is, but putts as a southpaw. Maybe it’s a metaphor for a conservative politician who often turned to liberals in crunch time, but I’m too busy losing $20 on this hole to appreciate it. We’re on the green now, surveying his 10-foot par attempt, a modest breeze transporting his tobacco cologne. With a posture as unique as his personality—back hunched over nearly parallel to the turf, left shoulder dipped well below the right, fingers interlocked around a grip of blue rubber—he gazes downward and shuffles his feet. Hey, Politico! Nobody with functioning brain cells cares what Boehner thinks.

Waste of space to print this stuff.

Yeah, he cared so much for the little guy that when he retired from the House, bought a 7+ million dollar home in Florida, and this from the guy that used to claim he drove a battered olds, because he couldn´t afford a new car...

I have a very legitimate question. Why do all these politicians, on both sides, come in with low net worth and not rich most of the time, but leave quite wealthy? How does that happen?

#4, That is the lure of the Swamp and very few can resist it´s call. Noobie politicians may come in with the best of intentions but quickly learn how the game is played and decide to relinquish their integrity at the city limits in favor of the perks, pension, insider trading, and influence peddling that drives Washington. These are not the citizen legislators that the Founders imagined.

Yeah, Boehner is a hero, conservatives are zero. Bullhockey.

Pound sand. Not buying your propaganda BS, Politico.

Even if Boehner did some good when he first arrived, he eventually became the definition of a Swamp Creature, and worked closely with Dems to defeat all things conservative.

The ´socialist´ doctor charged with cracking Senator Rand Paul´s ribs in a crunching blindside tackle may have harbored a secret grudge against his GOP neighbor for spoiling his lakeside views and ´devaluing´ his home, DailyMail.com can reveal. Rene Boucher, 59, told Paul in the wake of the mauling that he hadn´t been able to sell his $740,000 house for ten years because the congressman´s trees were ´in the way´. It´s believed Boucher was referring to woodland at the back of Paul´s property that blocks the doctor´s views of the picturesque private lake that forms the centerpiece of their upscale gated

Roger Goodell has demanded $50million per year and a private jet for life in order to stay on as NFL chairman, it has been reported. Goodell made the demands in a written counterproposal to the six-man NFL Compensation Committee which is due to debate his pay package on Monday, sources told ESPN. Earlier this year all 32 NFL team owners voted to renew Goodell´s contract, which runs until 2019, and nominated the committee to negotiate on their behalf. But amid plummeting viewer numbers and anger over anthem protests, some owners are now fighting to take matters back into their own hands. Jerry

The Cato 2017 Free Speech and Tolerance Survey, a new national poll of 2,300 U.S. adults, finds that 71% Americans believe that political correctness has silenced important discussions our society needs to have. The consequences are personal—58% of Americans believe the political climate prevents them from sharing their own political beliefs. Democrats are unique, however, in that a slim majority (53%) do not feel the need to self-censor. Conversely, strong majorities of Republicans (73%) and independents (58%) say they keep some political beliefs to themselves.

Though Western Europe and Washington are reluctant to fess up to this unfortunate fact, Turkey under Recep Tayyip Erdogan has long ago given up even the pretence of being a democratic polity and is openly pursuing policies detrimental to democracy, the rule of law and Western security considerations. In short, Turkey has become an Islamist dictatorship every bit as inimical to Western interests as Iran, except for being allowed by the West to maintain the charade that it is still a member of NATO and the Western community of nations. The publisher quietly signed up the book in February, without any formal announcement. In July, McCain disclosed he had been diagnosed with brain cancer and last month he said the prognosis was “very poor.” McCain, 81, was re-elected to a sixth term in the Senate in 2016. “This memoir will be about what matters most to him,

Republicans are confronting a growing revolt from their top donors, who are cutting off the party in protest over its inability to get anything done. The allegations by five women that Roy Moore pursued and sexually molested teenage girls while he was in his 30s are disgusting, and disqualify him to serve in the United States Senate. Conservatives should be outraged at Moore for his loathsome conduct. But they should also be outraged at the man who helped put Moore on the ballot and is in the process of destroying the Trump presidency: Stephen K. Bannon.
