Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough said President Donald Trump was the “antithesis” of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Scarborough said, “You look in Matthew, and go through the Beatitudes. Every single Beatitude. You go through Jesus’s teaching. What he says he wants people to be. Donald Trump is the antithesis of just about every single thing that Jesus Christ said on the Sermon on the Mount. Go read it.” He added, “None of us are perfect, but he goes out of his way it seems to thumb his nose at all conventions. Including the basics of
"By your fruits you shall know them," is what the Lord said, and the fruits of DJT are that people have jobs, are happier, are safer, are richer. Especially the poor ones. It counts also that under the VA reform we have the lame walking, those in need of counsel being encouraged. Those in sorrow are being cheered by DJT. We know, they said so. "You shall not stand aside when the innocent are dragged to slaughter," well, that would be abortion where DJT gets an A. You may not commit slander, eighth commandment, Joe Scarborough flunks that one.
Can the dems and their cheerleaders in the media really have anything to say about morals after Harvey Weinstein? Joe´s statement is laughable. Hey, Joe--why did NBC spike the Weinstein story? Stop preaching at me and look in the mirror.
Dear Joe: Show me the beatitude which commands worship of the Government. Please show me the beatitude which commands breaking the law for reasons of personal feelings. Show me the beatitude which commends sexual predators like Bill Clinton and Weinstein. Show me the beatitude which requires universal health care. As a matter of record, show me any beatitude which justifies your life and conduct. Are you poor in spirit? Are you pure in heart? Those who live in glass houses should cool it on the rock throwing. When I need to be preached at, I will go to Church. When I need to laugh, I will laugh at Morning Joke.
Did Jesus teach us to tax the citizenry to the point of crippling families? Did Jesus teach us to keep the poor poor and "behold´n" to the government creating a permanent underclass base designed to keep those in power, in power? Did Jesus teach the games of pay to play and quid pro quo?
People who point out what other people are doing and then invoke the teaching of Jesus better have a clean house themselves. I wonder what Jesus would say about a talk show host sleeping with his costar while both are married?
Jesus only spoke from the scrolls that became the Old Testament.
When Jesus spoke he was speaking to his brethren and those who wanted to become brethren. He also said his followers should live separate from non believers. He never said to allow non believers to walk all over you, or take advantage of you, for your believe in him. As you and others who do not know Jesus or God our Father creator try to undercut the faith of true believers in The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, by your wrong interpretations of what He tells us in His Holy Bible
One other thing Joe. You cannot be a Communist democrat or otherwise and by a Christian. You cannot serve Mammon and God our Father Creator.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
In your case Joe, you hate God our Father creator.
But taking a verse here and a verse there from the Gospels (without their surrounding verses to provide context and interpretive keys) risks conveying a meaning that´s incomplete, at best, and often even just incorrect. There are a couple of beaut´s in the comments here already; but this is not the setting for exegetical debates, and we could ALL stand to study the sources closer and read more informed commentary.
A quick search of the 10 best theological seminaries on two continents has not put the exalted Joe Scarborough on ANY list, not even the adjunct professor lists. Not even on the visiting professor lists. And would you believe, not even on the housekeeping employee lists. Where did we go wrong--not listing him in ecclesiastical documentation?
With all due respect, if JoeScarborough purports to know Scripture, it may be appropriate to remind him about judging others (Matthew7:1-5). Regarding the Beatitudes (Matthew5:2-12), President Trump is doing more goodwill on behalf of God’s children than biased, myopic Leftists recognize or are unwilling to acknowledge--the inherent goodness of President Trump, and that is reflected with donating his $400,000 presidential salary to worthy institutions. Scripture also says, “…If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.”(2Thessalonians3:10) Further, Scripture teaches, “Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.”(Proverbs13:24)
I wasn´t aware that Scarborough was a theologian of any note. Perhaps as much as he is a Climatologist?
I notice Liberals deride Christ except when an opponent is winning against their brand. Then all of a sudden they get religion and immediate expertise on Christ´s inner thoughts, intentions and philosophy - which is always opposed to their current opponent.
Joe Scarborough and his kind would do well to study Scripture and realize their egregious, unrelenting abuse of President Trump is scorning an individual God has chosen to lead this country at this point in time. Study what is written in Haggai2:20-23;1Chronicled14:2;Daniel2:21,4:17;Romans13:1-2;Revelation1:4-5, especially Romans 13 with emphasis on Verses 1-5, “Submission to Authorities.” Never-Trumpers of every stripe need to understand that “…there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Lastly, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”(Galatians 6:7)
The Democrats aimed at Roy Moore, but Bill Clinton was standing in their way. So Bill Clinton is now a smoldering husk of humanity. After Hillary Clinton’s presidential loss, it became both convenient and useful to discard her alleged sexual predator spouse — a man the media feted repeatedly last year as a halcyon of decency. Now, Bill could safely be relegated to the semen-stained ashbin of history. And so Bill Clinton has become the Barry Bonds of politics: a once-celebrated superhero, now disgraced. This week, a New York Times columnist said she believed Juanita Broaddrick, who first accused Clinton
A few days ago, members of Congress vowed to boot Roy Moore out of the Senate for ethical breaches if the Alabama voters dared elect him. Those are the same members whose Congress, it turns out, shelled out $15 million in sexual harassment claims. That´s a $15-million taxpayer-financed slush fund designed to allow congressmembers to go sex-harassing on their own without penalty. The payouts come from us. According to NTK: Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) informed NBC´s Chuck Todd on Tuesday that $15 million in taxpayer money had been paid out over the years to settle sexual harassment suits filed against
A shooting club in New Jersey is under fire for a set of billboards which some have deemed ´racist´. A few weeks ago, Wesley Aducat, the owner of the South Jersey Shooting Club in Winslow Township, put up two billboards advertising his business in the area. The advertisements show the silhouette of a gunman who is kneeling and taking aim with a rifle. The billboards read: ´The only time we take a knee...´The advertisement is a reference to the NFL players who have been taking a knee during the National Anthem to protest racial inequalities. Many have criticized the players
President Barack Obama mingled with Democratic leadership and high-powered donors at a New York City mansion on Tuesday, while raising money for the cash-strapped political party. Democrats are entering the 2018 election cycle amid financial struggles, with many donors declining to give after the party´s devastating loss to Donald Trump in 2016. Even the fundraising event on Tuesday night, which benefited the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the House Senate Victory Fund, drew few attendees, according to photos captured exclusively by DailyMail.com. The fundraiser was held at the palatial Upper East Side duplex owned by Dennis Mehiel, a former candidate
It appears the national anthem protest has trickled down to college basketball. Two of the four college basketball teams that participated in the Champions Classic in Chicago on Tuesday night participated in a national anthem demonstration before their game. (Video) While nobody took a knee, the players on each team wore t-shirts in an apparent demonstration in pre-game warm-ups and during the playing of the national anthem. Duke wore t-shirts with “Equality” written across the front whereas the players on Michigan State wore ones with the words, “We Talk We Listen.” The Blue Devils have been wearing the
President Trump suggested Wednesday that three UCLA players accused of shoplifting in China owed him public thanks after their release from confinement and return home. “Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail!” the president tweeted early Wednesday, hours after he returned from a 12-day Asia trip. Trump said Tuesday that he had spoken to Chinese President Xi Jinping about the three athletes, who were taken into custody while in Hangzhou for a game against Georgia Tech. Their teammates left China after the game,
People magazine named Blake Shelton its Sexiest Man Alive for 2017 on Tuesday, but it took some convincing by his girlfriend Gwen Stefani to get her guy on board. The country music superstar and coach on NBC´s "The Voice" hates being the center of attention, the magazine said. "She goes, ´Listen to me,´" recalled the 6-foot-5, Oklahoma-bred Shelton. "´You´re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don´t take this gift and just live in the moment.´ I´ve been ugly my whole life. If I can be sexy for a year, I´m taking it!´" Bonus for
The Pentagon has paid for an infantry soldier to undergo gender transition surgery after a federal judge blocked President Trump´s ban on transgender service members last month. The soldier, who identifies as a woman, became the first active-duty service member to receive such an operation paid for by the Defense Department when she went under the knife on Tuesday. Vice Admiral Raquel Bono, head of the Defense Health Agency, which provides medical care to active-duty personnel, approved the waiver request for the surgery Monday, defense officials told NBC News. The Food and Drug Administration has approved a smart pill that digitally tracks whether it is being taken as scheduled. Abilify MyCite (aripiprazole) tablets are antipsychotics primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and episodes of mania. It has also been used as a an “add-on treatment in major depressive disorder, tic disorders, and irritability associated with autism.” Representing nearly $7 billion dollars in drug sales, it is a widely used treatment for very serious long-term mental health issues. Unfortunately, those who need it most are also more likely not to take it. Studies show that treatment “non-adherence,”
If ever there were an election that proved the importance of accurate voter rolls, it was Virginia’s on Nov. 7. With control of the General Assembly hanging in the balance, at least three Democratic candidates demanded recounts of their Republican opponents’ razor-thin victory margins. One candidate led by 106 votes, another by 86, and a third led by only 10. Another five races were decided by fewer than 900 votes. The Democrats need to flip only two more seats to take control of the lower chamber. Every vote counts, and every name listed on a voter registration roll can be
The popular party game Cards Against Humanity said they have purchased a piece of property along the Mexican border and will use it to prevent President Trump’s proposed wall. The game announced a holiday promotion on Tuesday that gives players a map of the border location along with other gifts for $15. “We’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built,” the company said. Along with an “illustrated map of the land,” the game makers
CNN continued its pattern of reporting ridiculous factoids about President Donald Trump on Thursday when the liberal news network gave over two minutes of airtime to a segment about the inside of a dog’s ear that looks like Trump’s face. The segment featured on “Erin Burnett OutFront” analyzed the inside of a dog’s ear in the U.K. which the network compared to Trump’s face. The banner displayed on the show read: "A dog named Chief has an ear that looks like Trump´s face." After tracking down Jade Robinson, the dog´s owner, CNN learned that the discovery was made when she
Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden told an NBC audience Monday that he wouldn’t worry much about a potential 2020 matchup against President Trump because he’s “Middle-class Joe.” A hypothetical election showdown between Mr. Biden, 77, and Mr. Trump was laid before a “Megyn Kelly Today” audience to start the week when the former vice president said blue-collar voters “love” him more than the president. He said that while he is still unsure about future plans, his connection with middle-class voters is not in doubt. (Snip) “I understand the Rust Belt. Donald Trump has no notion what those people are
Monday on CNBC, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) said due to the sexual misconduct accusations leveled against former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, he should step aside in his campaign for the U.S. Senate. Bush said, “This is not a question of innocence or guilt like in a criminal proceeding, this is a question of what’s right and what’s wrong. Acknowledging that you’re dating teenagers when you’re 32-years old as assistant state attorney is wrong. It’s just plain wrong.” He added, “We need to stand for basic principles, and decency has to be one of those.
Chelsea Clinton opted for classic black to take the stage at Glamour magazine´s Women of the Year Live Summit, and when it came to choosing heels to match her outfit, she turned to her favorite pair of damaged nude pumps. The 37-year-old, who was named Glamour Woman of the Year in 2014, donned a simple, yet elegant A-line dress featuring scallop detailing on the bodice and hem for the event that was held at the Brooklyn Museum on Monday. Chelsea accessorized her look with a delicate gold necklace and her favorite patent leather pumps, which looked incredibly torn up after
Republican Sen. Jeff Flake says he would rather see a Democrat win Alabama’s open Senate seat than accused teen groper Roy Moore — and compared the GOP candidate to former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. “If the choice is between Roy Moore and a Democrat, if I were in Alabama I’d vote for the Democrat,” the Arizona senator?, who recently announced he would not seek reelection,? said Monday. “There was a time when Republican senators would go and campaign for a Democrat rather than seat a Republican who would be so repugnant to the party and would diminish the party’s chances
Known for his insightful take on politics, journalist and author Thomas Wictor believes Judge Roy Moore’s signature in Gloria Allred accuser Beverly Young Nelson’s yearbook is a forgery. (Photo) The sevens in 1977 to the right of “Christmas,” are very different from the sevens in the date (12-22-77) above “Old Hickory House.” “Look at the two versions of the number “7,” tweeted Wictor. “”12-22-77” and “Olde Hickory House” were written by a different person,” he added. Next, Wictor points out “the “R” and “y” in “Roy,”” are not written the same way. The inflection of the “Y” is more pronounced
In the past few weeks, I´ve been a woman of split personalities. On a good day, I´m elated — empowered and inspired by the many women who have courageously opened the floodgates to help end the shroud of silence and shame that surrounds victims of sexual assault and harassment. I shared my stories. I brought other women together to share theirs. We were giddy at the catharsis. It felt like a sea change. On a bad day, I´m despondent — devastated and angry that so many of the people who were rightly outraged over Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey were utterly disbelieving
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is said to be considering appointing a second special counsel to investigate issues related to former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey, and the Obama administration. Sessions´ contemplation comes after the House Judiciary Chairman urged him to look into Comey´s handling of the FBI´s investigation into Clinton´s email use, the 2010 Uranium One deal, and the Clinton Foundation. Trump has repeatedly called Sessions a "weak" attorney general and pushed him to investigate Clinton and the Democrats as the FBI investigates Trump and his campaign for possible collusion with Moscow during the 2016
The ´socialist´ doctor charged with cracking Senator Rand Paul´s ribs in a crunching blindside tackle may have harbored a secret grudge against his GOP neighbor for spoiling his lakeside views and ´devaluing´ his home, DailyMail.com can reveal. Rene Boucher, 59, told Paul in the wake of the mauling that he hadn´t been able to sell his $740,000 house for ten years because the congressman´s trees were ´in the way´. It´s believed Boucher was referring to woodland at the back of Paul´s property that blocks the doctor´s views of the picturesque private lake that forms the centerpiece of their upscale gated
Was a 14-year-old girl molested by Alabama Senate Republican candidate Roy Moore, or is she lying? It’s a yes-or-no question. Was a 16-year-old girl sexually assaulted by Moore, or is she lying? Again, it’s a yes-or-no question. Finally, do you believe that there are conditions under which a child molester should sit in the United States Senate? Again, this question is binary. Yet many conservatives seem to be seeking a third answer to all three of these questions, mostly to avoid giving straight answers. Let’s begin with the first question: Did Roy Moore molest a 14-year-old girl?
House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Tuesday that the entire U.S. House will now face mandatory training to avoid sexual harassment and discrimination, moving to address the growing national scandal over behavior ranging from the boorish to the criminal. His comments came hours after a House committee held a hearing on harassment. Mr. Ryan said the House will now have a policy of mandatory training for every lawmaker and every staffer. “Our goal is not only to raise awareness, but also make abundantly clear that harassment in any form has no place in this institution,” he said.
When the Washington Post filed its story against Roy Moore last week, we took a cautious line, agreeing with Republican lawmakers who said “if true,” these charges disqualify the GOP´s nominee in Alabama’s special election for the Senate. We pressed Republicans to extract more information from Moore. Since then, plenty more information has emerged. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, after getting Moore’s side of the story last week, withdrew his endorsement of the former judge. A former boyfriend of the chief Washington Post subject, who says Moore fondled her as a 14-year-old after flirting with her outside a custody hearing, corroborated the story. A
Jeff Sessions is a man in search of a banana peel. When he can’t find one to step on, he supplies his own. Sessions is not a bad man, but he is a bad attorney general, as he demonstrated again Tuesday. By writing to Republicans in Congress just hours before he was scheduled to testify that he was open to appointing a special prosecutor to examine former FBI Director James Comey’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s e-mail case and the notorious Uranium One deal, Sessions primed the pump for a really big show. Democrats arrived furious and Republicans gleefully expected an ah-ha moment. Both
