Trump will end ObamaCare subsidy payments
New York Post, by Joe Tacopino

President Trump will halt subsidy payments to insurers who sell coverage under Obamacare — a move that would deal a critical blow to the program, the White House confirmed Thursday night. “Based on guidance from the Department of Justice, the Department of Health and Human Services has concluded that there is no appropriation for cost-sharing reduction payments to insurance companies under Obamacare,” the White House said in a statement. Trump has decided to end the payments — which cost about $7 billion this year — after the GOP failed numerous efforts to repeal Obamacare on Capitol Hill. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi

While the GOP obstructionists sat on the sidelines taking potshots, Donald the Builder fired up his bulldozer and demolished the monstrosity all on his own.

Great news!
0bamacare is the biggest legislative drag on the economy in 50 years and needs to go before we can see another Reagan-like expansion.

And while the president is at it pull the cushy health insurance that obama gave congress. Let them go on the exchanges starting Nov. 1st just like millions will be forced to do. Without the subsidies they now receive they can pay through the nose too.

Mr. Tacopino must be pitching a job at the NY Times. First, $7 billion in US taxpayer money saved is actually a positive. Second, the so-called critical blow was written into the law. It wasn´t Trump´s idea. Everyone had been told that government (US taxpayer) subsidies wouldn’t be needed after 2017, because O´Care would be self-sustaining. Insurers are legally allowed to opt out of the program after 2017 or 2018 if slush fund is discontinued. Tacopino doesn´t understand there are consequences to decades of imperial rule and hatred of voters.

Excellent.

I wish I could draw a cartoon.

I envision a bus, with "Obamacare" painted on the side, upside down in the ditch with the engine on fire, you are at the back looking down the side. Trump is at the back, holding open the emergency exit door and helping folks to climb outof the burning wreck.

Across the street there are a couple of jackasses (with big ears) screaming, "He´s sabotaging the bus!"

Go Trump!

MAGA, indeed.

Why has none of them suggested they get rid of government paid ´navigators´? Let licensed insurance agents sell insurance and the insurers pay them, not taxpayers.

Green card holders will really be upset over this news.

The only thing keeping this lead balloon up in the air was billions of dollars of taxpayer money fed into the furnace to keep it aloft. Without these subsidies it´s going to come crashing down on its own bloated weight.

Trump gave Congress the opportunity to fix it. They chose not to. So he´s going to let it crash on its own.

´m not sure I agree with this until I find out more about it.What I do know is thee dems will make hay out of it.Horror stories will abound. On the other hand I love that trump allows for buying insurance across state lines. One of the reasons Obamacare is so expensive is there isn´t much competition. Word will get around which is the cheapest state and subscribers will flock there.

The Vietnam War was ended by stopping the funding. Looks like it will work again in this case. My girlfriend loves Obamacare and was in tears and having a panic attack tonight because Trump is “undermining” OCare. All she does is watch CNN all day and I feel very sorry for her. She gets the low income subsidized Cover Calif plan, and is totally worried that Trump will take it away from her. Even though her rate has increased substantially and she just lost a Rx medication that was covered because now it is too expensive and she cant get it. She just doesn’t understand what’s going on.

There is no end to the wailing that democrats have planned in response to this announcement. They will trot out victims, accuse Trump of murder and democrats and the media can estimate the death toll backed up with "non-partisan" research. As usual, Republicans are on the wrong emotional side. We cannot win.

Now this is truly an act of draining the swamp! “Boatloads of Federal money”, as Justice Kagan so succinctly put it in reference to Obamacare, is the life-sustaining nourishment for all the critters that call the swamp home. The next few days, Sunday shows in particular, should produce some of the highest pitches whines, the least apt metaphors, and the most menacing threats ever heard in the public square. We’ll be coached to interpret these noisy remonstrations as proper dissent but I, for one, will be hearing the death rattle of the swamp critters. The world was able to keep going without dinosaurs and we too will survive without swamp critters. Like the dinosaurs, they’ll die off without knowing what hit them. Excellent job by the Prez but it makes me wonder why Dr. “Jetman” Price hadn’t already done this. Kathleen Sibelius would not, and did not, dither when having her way with this ridiculous law.

I’ll take wild guess that a lawsuit will be filed in the Ninth Circuit and some far leftist Federal Judge will issue a stay in President Trump’s executive order. Which will then drag on all the way to the Supreme Court. Of course this same Judge had no problem with any of obama’s Executive orders even the Unconstitutional ones like DACA. Just more obstruction by the left. Anything that helps America hurts the left such is their hatred for the country!

One has to wonder if the reason Congress refused, refuses, to do the right thing and repeal ACA is because it was, "crafted", by the first black president(legacy innuendo) OR it´s based solely on the politicians selfish Obamacare related investments. Oh, throw in direct $ payoffs to the politicians as a possibility in refusal to touch/repeal Obamacare.

I have refused to sign up for ACA, never have, never will. I´ve gone to a nearby clinic(Floyd Medical Center, Ga) the past three years, once for a broken foot and more recently a scorpion sting. The medical personnel are nothing short of delighted I´m paying cash, begin thinking up ways to lower my bill! They must not like going the insurance route, namely ACA. Last time I got out of there for just $80.00.

Superb!

As federal expenditures go, $7 billion isn´t all that much but it´s perfectly targeted as a spear against the heart of BOCare.

The Republican Congress is going to massively regret not repealing BOCare and crafting a replacement. Trump is doing the necessary thing given Congressional ineptness but that doesn´t mean it´s going to be pretty. Instead of a controlled emergency landing and exit via the emergency slides, parts of BOCare are going to explode, crash, and burn. Congress will be FORCED to step up and craft a transition or face a big mess.

Trump is forcing Congress to step up to its responsibilities in health care, immigration, and other areas. He pulled out the extralegal props that the dems put in place to keep things limping along and told Congress, "Fix it the right way". That is excellent and more durable.

It´s also entertaining to see Ryan and McConnell sweating under the spotlights.

The insurance companies are one of the reasons that the ACA is so bad that it stinks. Nice try getting all American taxpayers to pay for the permanent hypochondriacs out there. Now the insurance companies can suffer the consequences until the turtles in congress do something.

Now, terminate the mandate. Get congress off the free ride.

And, #17, please listen, we like you. Get a conservative GF. Life will be so much easier.

Insurance companies were one of the few businesses which survived the Great Depression and the Great Recession almost intact. (http://www.insreglaw.com/2012/02/insurance-industry-and-great-recession.html)

Unless those companies were subsidized by the government on the qt during the recession, they figured out how to stay in business and make money without government subsidies. If they did it then, they can do it now.

Next step is to sue the insurance companies to repay the money they were paid illegally.

Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm whose Democrat-financed Russia dossier fueled an FBI investigation into Donald Trump, pitched other stories about the Republican presidential candidate to Washington reporters, including an attempt to tie him to a convicted pedophile who was once buddies with former President Bill Clinton. Journalist sources told The Washington Times that Fusion founder Glenn Simpson pushed the idea of a close relationship between Mr. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting sex from an underage girl. President Trump pressured congressional Democrats Saturday to drop their demands for amnesty for young illegal immigrants as part of a year-end spending deal, saying their insistence on protecting illegals is part of a liberal mindset that led to the death of Kate Steinle in San Francisco. “Unfortunately, Democrats in Congress not only oppose our efforts to stop illegal immigration and crack down on sanctuary cities,” Mr. Trump said in his weekly address. “Now they are demanding amnesty as a condition for funding the government, holding troop funding hostage and putting our national security at risk. We cannot allow it.”

Mobile, Alabama — The Republican National Committee (RNC) is now again backing Judge Roy Moore, the GOP nominee for the U.S. Senate in Alabama. The RNC’s decision to now publicly support Moore again comes in the wake of President Donald Trump’s wholehearted endorsement of Moore on Monday morning. (Snip) Throughout this process, since the Washington Post published frivolous evidence-free allegations against Moore, the RNC’s position has closely mirrored the White House position on Moore. At first, the RNC held out criticism or withdrawal of support while the president was overseas in Asia on a multi-day, multi-country trip.

Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello Nevares last month asked federal taxpayers to shell out $94 billion to pay for the territory’s recovery from Hurricane Maria — then turned around and paid out about $100 million in Christmas bonuses to island government employees. The governor’s aides say the bonuses are a longstanding tradition and part of the law, and were planned for in the budget approved last summer. But that budget came well before Hurricanes Irma and Maria slammed into Puerto Rico, leaving much of the territory in ruin and leaving the government begging for federal assistance. The island’s financial oversight board,

Even if President Trump stops calling her “Pocahontas,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren may be unable to silence the chatter over her dubious claims of Cherokee ancestry for at least the next year, thanks in part to someone whose Indian heritage isn’t in doubt. Shiva Ayyadurai, a Bombay-born, MIT-educated entrepreneur running as an independent to unseat the Massachusetts Democrat, already is the early favorite for the November election’s catchiest campaign slogan: “Only a real Indian can defeat a fake Indian.” In June, he sent Ms. Warren a DNA testing kit for her birthday. She sent it back, but the exchange exploded on

Missouri school officials said a non-white student confessed this week to scrawling a racist message on a girls’ bathroom mirror, causing unrest at a St. Louis-area high school. The controversial phrase, “White Lives Matter,” followed by the N-word was discovered on a girls’ bathroom mirror at Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield on Nov. 15. (Snip) “The use of the N-word, in the context of the message on the bathroom mirror, provoked feelings of hate, not love,” he said, a local CW affiliate reported. “As I stated last week, actions and speech which degrade an individual’s human dignity

Titled “Why These Alabama Voters Are Sticking By Roy Moore,” Luntz’s Vice News focus group aired on Vice News Tonight on Dec. 8 on HBO. “Are you all Christians here?” Luntz opens the seven-and-a-half-minute long segment. “Yes,” all of the focus group participants, who joined Luntz in a Birmingham area restaurant, replied. “Is Roy Moore a good Christian?” he followed up. “Yes,” one woman replied. “Absolutely,” another said. “Absolutely?”

California´s governor has said that deadly wildfires in the winter will be ´the new normal´, as fire crews rushed to contain the fires, with dry desert winds expected to intensify over the weekend. Governor Jerry Brown on Saturday toured Ventura County neighborhoods ravaged by a weeklong wildfire that killed at least one person and destroyed hundreds of homes and other buildings. At a news conference, the Democrat said drought and climate change mean California faces a ´new reality´ where lives and property are continually threatened by fire, at a cost of billions of dollars. There are times in life when the institutional ground underneath you begins to crumble — and with it, longstanding attachments. Such is the case for me when it comes to the Republican Party and evangelicalism. I’ve been a part of both for my entire adult life. These days, though, in many important ways they are having harmful effects on our society. The latest example is in Alabama, where Roy Moore, the Republican Senate candidate, stands accused of varying degrees of sexual misconduct by nine women, including one who was 14 years old at the time. An award-winning U.S. diplomat who was seen as a rising star at the State Department has issued a scathing resignation letter, accusing Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the Donald Trump administration of undercutting the State Department and damaging America’s influence in the world. Elizabeth Shackelford, who most recently served as a political officer based in Nairobi for the U.S. mission to Somalia, wrote to Tillerson that she reluctantly had decided to quit because the administration had abandoned human rights as a priority and shown disdain for the State Department’s diplomatic work,

I´m pretty much done with the sex scandals. They were fun, but they´re just going to have to carry on without me. If someone broke the law and you can prove it, prosecute him. If someone violated the rules of his organization, eject him. Other than that, if women have forgotten the fine art of slapping a man in the face, there´s not a whole hell of a lot society can do for them. You keep silent for forty years and then ruin a man´s career with an unprovable allegation — and that makes you a hero? Not to me. Look,

Prior to President Donald Trump’s visit to the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum today, Fox & Friends brought on Trump supporter and former sheriff David Clarke to discuss the president’s appearance. And things got very tense very fast. Right off the bat, co-host Pete Hegseth asked Clarke what he thought about Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), a civil rights icon, deciding not to attend the opening because Trump would be in attendance. Clarke reacted by immediately dismissing Lewis. “John who?” Clarke mocking stated. “John Lewis — he was bloodied on the Selma bridge, Sheriff, when trying to protest voting

Sen. Richard Shelby says he wants a Republican elected to the Senate on Tuesday to represent Alabama, but that he didn’t vote for GOP candidate Roy Moore in the special election. Short of impeaching President Trump, does anything excite Democrats, the Resistance, and NeverTrumpers like the prospect of the president firing special counsel Robert Mueller? Firing Mueller would, or course, be the quickest way for Trump to get impeached, which might explain a certain air of anticipation in discussions of whether — some prefer to say when -- Trump will sack the prosecutor leading the Trump-Russia investigation. There has been a lot of news and commentary recently interpreting criticism of Mueller by a number of pro-Trump media voices as an effort to encourage Trump to fire Mueller, or lay the groundwork for

California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) says President Trump´s stance on climate change demonstrates that he does not appear to fear the "wrath of God" or have any regard for the "existential consequences" of his climate change policies. “I don’t think President Trump has a fear of the Lord, the fear of the wrath of God, which leads one to more humility ... this is such a reckless disregard for the truth and for the existential consequences that can be unleashed,” Brown said in an interview on CBS´s "60 Minutes," which is set to air on Sunday. Loose dentures? More like loose screws. Donald Trump was slurring his words pretty good last week for a guy who fancied himself an expert when it came to Hillary Clinton’s alleged brain damage. What would he make of his own slurred speech and bizarre behavior? brain tumor from the weight of that massive combover sitting on top of his head like a live farm animal? Simply slurred speech because his thoughts are so fantastic that his mouth can’t keep up?
