Caitlan Coleman family refuses return

The daring plan to bring home an American woman and her family from Afghanistan, where they were held captive by a Taliban-affiliated group, appeared to hit a snag Thursday, with officials telling Fox News the woman´s husband is refusing to board a plane out of the Middle East. Caitlan Coleman, 32, was seven months pregnant when she and her husband, Josh Boyle, were abducted in Afghanistan in 2012 by the Haqqani network. The couple and their three children -- all of whom were born in captivity -- were freed Thursday in a "negotiated release," an official told Fox News. The family has

There is something desperately wrong here. Josh Boyle seems to have made very poor decisions over a long period of time. I would not trust him. The wife, Caitlan, and her children should consider going home to her parents where they can be with some relatively normal people for a while. It sounds like her husband is still trying to sort out his allegiances. I am skeptical.

Compared with some before pictures, Josh and his wife have lost some serious weight. The kids look dirty and in need of a health checkup.
Caitlan should dump Josh now and come home - for the children. Josh may be beyond help.

First, how stupid is it for a woman 7 months pregnant, taking a backpacking vacation in a war zone?
Second, and even more important, how stupid is it for an infidel woman to marry a muslim?

She must have been desperate to marry this Canadian. They deserve each other! Don´t come back to the States! Canada or Afghanistan will keep them happy!

You know that there had to be a catch here, as what American couple, with the wife 7 months pregnant, goes wandering along in the primitive Afghanistan-Pakistan border region during a war?

Now we are told that the husband is actually a Canadian citizen, who was previously married to the sister of a man who was a member of an Afghan insurgent group that murdered a US soldier.

President Trump has got to be learning that there is something to the adage that “no good deed goes undone”. Luckily no US military members were killed or wounded getting that group released.

California, the sanctuary state,

Washington Examiner [DC], by Editorial    Original Article

Earlier this month, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed SB 54, a historic state law that thumbs his state´s nose at federal authority. Beginning in January, the law states, California officially becomes a so-called sanctuary state. The term "sanctuary" is, of course, not univocal. It was once used to describe a sensible law enforcement strategy, by which otherwise law-abiding illegal immigrants who report crimes or cooperate with the police are not asked about their immigration status, lest they hesitate to help authorities in the future. Unfortunately, that is not what "sanctuary" means in this case. California is instead following the lead of many

Eh, by this logic it was wrong for tea partiers to primary establishment Republicans in 2009-10. Every insurgent political movement answers this question the same way: “We can’t fight the enemy effectively until we install better generals of our own.” And every time, that answer is disingenuous. It’s not about appointing better generals to defeat the other side. That’s salesmanship. It’s about an ideological takeover of your own side. It’s a coup. Still, it’s enjoyable watching Newt turn the logic of 2016 against Trump’s former chief strategist. The argument to Never Trumpers last fall was that it’s fine to have

The Florida Democrat who criticized President Donald Trump this week for being "insensitive" toward the widow of a U.S. soldier slain in Africa might be facing similar criticism herself. It turns out that U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson has frequently voted against measures intended to help veterans and their families, according to an online vote tracker. The measures that Wilson opposed included a bill that could have ensured that families of four soldiers slain in Afghanistan in 2013 received death and burial benefits. In fact, Wilson’s voting record on veterans issues may call into question the sincerity of her recent defense of U.S.

Amidst the flurry of demands that Harvey Weinstein be extinguished from the liberal memory, Democrats keep turning up at institutions and award ceremonies named after serial exploiters of women. The other day John Kerry took a break from the denunciations of the bloated mogul to pick up an honor from the “Edward Kennedy Institute.” Barack Obama sent his fraternal greetings to the august gathering. Needless to say, memories of Teddy Kennedy’s exploitation of waitresses and campaign volunteers didn’t figure into the high proceedings. Teddy had the seduction techniques of Harvey Weinstein down pat, though perhaps he refrained from Weinstein’s practice

As National Football League owners and players’ union representatives meet in New York today and tomorrow to discuss the players’ recent demonstrations — the kneeling, linking arms or raising fists during the national anthem — they should know how the law views these protests. This will not only tell them what the league lawfully can do; it also will reveal something about American values. There has been some confusion about the law and the anthem protests.
