Trump has more than three years left
in his term. What are we going to do?

The truth can no longer be ignored: Donald Trump is dangerously unfit to be president and could lead the nation to unthinkable disaster. So what are we going to do about it? The White House “has become an adult day care center,” where the president’s senior aides spend “every single day .?.?. trying to contain him.” That terrifying bit of information was disclosed Sunday by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), whose decision not to run for reelection has freed him to point out that the emperor is indeed naked. “Look, except for a few people, the vast

Corker is an idiot. He used to love Trump and campaigned heavily for him. Sadly he was passed over for VP and Sec of State and now Trump is going to deep six his wonderful deal with Iran and he’s mad and has resentments a mile high. He is a pathetic idiot and a short little drooling fool and a bufoon. What are we gong to do? Just keep winning baby and win bigly! Stick a cork in it Corker!

Reading whiny Eugene´s column reminded me of the lyrics to the 1974 song by Oscar Brown, Jr. (a take-off on an old Lone Ranger joke):

The Lone Ranger and Tonto
Were riding down the Navajo Trail
When a band of Indians found em
Proceeded to surround em and
The Lone Ranger turned kinda pale

Tonto, our lives are in danger
We got to get away if we can
Tonto just looked at Lone Ranger
What you mean, we, white man?

So, Eugene, those of us out here in fly-over country ask you - What you mean ´WE´? I don´t know what YOU are going to do, Eugene, but WE are going to keep winning! And smiling bigly!

All snark aside, Eugene Robinson has a very mediocre mind (I can´t use the word intellect, it would be inappropriate in his case). His columns remind me of several entries in a poetry anthology that I was assigned to read in college. Alongside the truly greats, T. S. Eliot, Gerard Manley Hopkins, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and so forth, the editors had included some "poets of color" whose work was shockingly inadequate. The latter works stood out even to an unlearned freshman reader as simply not deserving to be in the book. No one had to tell me that this was pandering, affirmative action, whatever, at its very worst. It is the same with Eugene Robinson and not all, but a number of other minority columnists and op ed writers for large liberal newspapers. If blind submissions were required, their work would never be accepted for publication in any newspaper, much less a major one like the Washington Post. Robinson is an embarrassment to the news/opinion/writing profession.

WASHINGTON — For weeks, Facebook has been under intense scrutiny in Washington after revelations about Russian attempts to use the platform to influence the 2016 elections. Now, some lawmakers are talking about turning that scrutiny into action. There are new calls on Capitol Hill for stronger federal regulation of Facebook, possibly requiring greater transparency and disclosures for digital political ads. But lawmakers have yet to take up more sweeping reforms that some internet policy experts and advocates believe are necessary to protect users of the social-media platform, given Facebook’s outsize influence and vast stores of personal data. Donna Brazile said in an interview Tuesday that Russian hackers destroyed “critical data” when they breached the Democratic National Committee (DNC) ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Brazile, who served as interim DNC chair for a portion of last year, made the comments during an interview with Joe Madison on Sirius XM. (Snip) The DNC pushed back on Brazile´s comments, saying in a statement to The Hill, "Her allegation is inaccurate - there is no evidence the voter file was compromised." BARNSTABLE, Mass. - A Kennedy family member charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to a noisy party is being sent to a pretrial diversion program. Caroline Rose Kennedy was set to be arraigned in Barnstable on Wednesday, but her hearing was rescheduled for March pending her completion of the program. Officials say case against the 22-year-old granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy will be dismissed if she successfully completes the program. “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski came under fire from online critics Tuesday after again sounding the alarm on sexual harassment in the workplace following the suspension of CBS and PBS mainstay Charlie Rose — despite her show’s own suspension of regulars Glenn Thrush and Mark Halperin for similar reasons. (Snip) “I am listening to Mika Brzezinski preach about about how co-workers shouldn’t go out for drinks after work because it leads to bad judgement,” one critic tweeted. “Mika and Joe [Scarborough] started their sexual relationship while working together on the same show.”

A family who was attacked by a group of young people at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee during “Fright Fest” in September is suing the park for negligence allowing the attack to happen. The Batavia family says Six Flags Great America staff failed to intervene when a group of about 20 young people attacked the 12-year-old boy and his parents at the park on Sept. 23, according to the three-count suit filed anonymously Monday in Cook County Circuit Court. The family suffered “extreme” and “debilitating” physical, emotional and psychological injuries.” The three family members and the son’s friend were

UCLA basketball players LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were arrested in China for shoplifting while attending basketball tournament. UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said the players stole from three stores in China including sunglasses stolen by LiAngelo Ball from a Louis Vitton store. They were facing 10 years in prison. Imagine: even the New York Times’ Ross Douthat now thinks that Bill Clinton should have stepped down over the Monica Lewinsky affair. Douthat’s mea culpa op-ed in this past weekend’s paper, in which he confesses that he and others may have been wrong to dismiss Bill Clinton’s indefensible behavior, will serve as the official political obituary for Clinton, Inc. Hillary Clinton is done, finished, kaput. Dogged by scandals old and new, out of step politically, her excess baggage has morphed into an entire baggage train, dragging her towards political oblivion. While it is refreshing to consider the landscape unadorned by Clintons,

Alabama has its back up, or at least its Republicans and conservatives do, and it’s understandable. They don’t like when Northerners and liberals and people in Washington tell them who their senator should be. They don’t like when reporters from outside come down and ask questions and turn over rocks looking for what’s crawling on the underside. (Snip) The charges against Mr. Moore are not only serious; they are completely credible. A federal judge on Monday permanently blocked President Trump’s executive order to cut funding from so called “sanctuary cities.” Trump’s order would have removed some federal funds from cities that limit their cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities. U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick rejected the Trump administration’s argument that the measure only applies to a relatively small pool of money. Orrick also said that Trump cannot set fresh conditions on spending that Congress has previously approved. Monday’s ruling came in lawsuits brought by two California counties, Santa Clara and San Francisco.

A second federal judge has halted the Trump administration’s proposed transgender military ban, finding that active-duty service members are “already suffering harmful consequences” because of the president’s policy. The ruling Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Marvin J. The preliminary injunction issued by the judge in Baltimore on Tuesday goes further than the

The American political community has not taken adequate notice of Hillary Clinton’s book What Happened (the title is not posed as a question). It was generally panned when it came out a couple of months ago for blaming everyone but herself for her defeat. I have never been a Clinton-basher, and I was astonished by the venom, untruthfulness, and zealotry of her account. Mrs. Clinton writes persuasively of seeking “grace” after her defeat, and concluded most of her speeches throughout the 2016 campaign calling for “love and kindness,” yet she is unrelievedly ungracious. She describes her opponent as a clear
