A number of high-ranking Democratic senators combined to contribute tens of thousands of dollars to Sen. Robert Menendez´s (D., N.J.) campaign committee this year, a review of Federal Election Commission records shows. Menendez, who was indicted in April 2015, is currently facing 12 counts of corruption charges that include bribery. Prosecutors have said that the senator had a "corrupt pact" with Salomon Melgen, a wealthy Florida eye doctor, a previous donor to Menendez´s campaign. Menendez himself has contributed to the campaigns of a number of top Democratic senators this year from his leadership PAC, the New Millennium PAC, the Washington Free Beacon

Obama’s UN Ambassador Claims Someone

Someone within the Obama administration’s intelligence apparatus made requests to unmask the identity of Americans named in intelligence reports on behalf of Samantha Power, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. That’s what Power told the House Intelligence Committee last week during a closed-door interview. South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy revealed in an interview on Fox News on Tuesday that Power was “emphatic” on the point that someone else in the Obama administration made the unmasking requests that have been attributed to her. Fox News recently reported that Power made approximately 260 unmasking requests — a rate of one per business day

Amidst the flurry of demands that Harvey Weinstein be extinguished from the liberal memory, Democrats keep turning up at institutions and award ceremonies named after serial exploiters of women. The other day John Kerry took a break from the denunciations of the bloated mogul to pick up an honor from the “Edward Kennedy Institute.” Barack Obama sent his fraternal greetings to the august gathering. Needless to say, memories of Teddy Kennedy’s exploitation of waitresses and campaign volunteers didn’t figure into the high proceedings. Teddy had the seduction techniques of Harvey Weinstein down pat, though perhaps he refrained from Weinstein’s practice

Ah, so that explains that curious bro-hug press conference. Earlier in the day, Trump went so far as to say he could understand where Steve Bannon was coming from in wanting to primary Senate Republicans. A few hours later, apparently after meeting with McConnell, he was at the podium outside the White House claiming that he’d try to talk Bannon out of launching primary challenges to certain Republicans. Now we know why. Mitch McConnell, Trump whisperer. There’s truth to McConnell’s argument too, as I noted last night. Bannon’s effort to run populists against Senate GOPers presents two risks to Trump. "If we don´t get the information we need, we can´t do that," he told reporters. McCain said the Trump administration acts as though Congress isn´t a co-equal branch of government, "and that they don´t have to respond to what the Constitution says." Trump in

I’m very proud of them, that core." During the same interview, the 79-year-old was asked if she had a "sense of regret" for her visit to North Vietnam in 1972. The

As National Football League owners and players’ union representatives meet in New York today and tomorrow to discuss the players’ recent demonstrations — the kneeling, linking arms or raising fists during the national anthem — they should know how the law views these protests. This will not only tell them what the league lawfully can do; it also will reveal something about American values. There has been some confusion about the law and the anthem protests. Because the First Amendment generally treats government and corporate power differently, allowing a business to impose on its workers what the government
