Harvey Weinstein accusations
cause chaos in Hollywood

Fox News, by Staff

Hollywood is in chaos, and all because of one man: Harvey Weinstein. Multiple allegations of rape, sexual harassment and trading sex for movie roles have forced one of the most powerful men in show business out of his company and begging for help and forgiveness. But the ripples extending from the wake of Weinstein’s dramatic fall extend much further than his business and personal relationships and so far show no signs of abating. From the women he allegedly abused, to the associates who allegedly knew about his behavior all along but stayed silent, to the A-list actors and actresses who depend on him

Word is Georgina Chapman´s Marquesa jewelry licensee is backing out, too.

My daughter worked in the movie business in PR about 10 years ago, when she was in her early 20´s. She was a bit star struck and was thrilled to have close and daily access to people like Johnny Depp (hot), Keira Knightly (serious eating disorder), Orlando Bloom (smelly), Kevin Spacey (hilarious) and Robert DiNiro ("Bob" to her). After about two years she moved on to less sexy areas of PR like real estate and medical technology because she began to see the entertainment business as vacuous. When this story broke, all she said was that Hollywood as a whole is filthy and disturbing, little more than a racket for powerful perverted men to use the vulnerable, ambitious, beautiful and callow without fear
of reprisal or prosecution. I personally have never been particularly enthralled by movies but if Hollywood is simply a huge brothel funded by movie profits no wonder the products are so bad.

I agree very much with the assessment that Hollywood has become a role model for our children. Probably even for some of us but have rehabilitated. I believe there is a much better role model but that is just me.

How can these Harvey Weinstein accusations cause chaos in Hollywood when it has been a chaotic climate since the beginning?

Couldn´t care less if all of "Hollywood" (in the many places it is located) met the same deserving fate as Sodom & Gomorrah. Couldn´t happen to a better crowd that worked hard to earn their fate and the wrath of God.

Hard to say which came first in this chicken/egg scenario. Do powerful men take advantage of sweet innocent women ... or do conniving women see the power and are drawn to it? No one yet has stated old, fat pock-marked Harvey ripped their clothes off or even drugged them like Cosby. Seems the ladies dropped their garments willingly ... or at least as a bribe that often worked!

Hollywood keeps braying about "their art". Seems to me we are witnessing the real art in Hollywood and that is the oldest profession in the world is alive and well and thriving in that community. Their sanctimonious rants on everything from weather to women´s rights is a joke. Who are they to lecture anyone on with their wrongheaded opinions. They have zero moral authority, but I´ll give them this, they have loud mouths and a whole lot of hubris. I seldom go to a movie and see no reason to alter that decision. Why put money in the pockets of pervers and sexual abusers? Ashley Judd is especially hypocritical with her cowardice in the face of real sexual abuse....some feminist. She is like all the others...willing to do whatever was necessary to get the right break.

condemn this type of behavior when we see it

Yes, because only when others are present and actually SEE a girl, against her wishes, watching Harvey Weinstein take a shower and when others actually SEE Harvey Weinstein try to force a young actress up to his hotel room, swearing by his children he´s not going to do something he´s used to like groping her breasts, THEN Ben and his ilk can condemn this behavior. Because of course until that happens, like Lanny Davis would say, "There is no POOF."

and help ensure there are more women in positions of power

Why? So women in power can force men to watch them take showers? Is it a given that ALL men in power merely want to take advantage of women and get away with it for years because people like Ben who KNEW it was happening would enable the behavior?

I get it Ben; because Harvey Weinstein was a KNOWN pervert and got away with being a KNOWN pervert by the Great Land of Pretend (including YOU), ALL men would do the same thing and only a woman in power would prevent it.

I was watching a report on the Weinstein situation yesterday and I was suddenly reminded of that deep cut track on the Eagles´ "Long Run" album called "The King of Hollywood." If they weren´t singing about Weinstein specifically, they were certainly singing about a predatory culture that has existed in the film industry for decades.

Let´s take a look. Is the decadence any different, less disgusting, or wide spread than it has been lo these many years in that beautiful place, "Hollywood"? So, what else is new? These people have been swapping wives and husbands, taking drugs, posturing for an admiring public, and covering up this kind of behavior since the days of Mac Sennett and Cecil B. DeMille.

Now, when the bloated carcass becomes available, who feasts on it like the carrion creatures that they are, the rest of the Hollywood elite. The Meryl Streeps, and the rest of the vultures who used to join in the "glamour" of this swolen pathetic former icon, Weinstein, now treat him like a pinata for the preservation of their own "star" status.

I haven´t seen a movie for more than 20 years so I don´t have a dog in this hunt. But let me add this one admonishment: A plague on ALL of your houses.

The inspiration behind the Women’s March on DC, Linda Sarsour, has been accused of enabling the alleged sexual assault and harassment of a woman who worked for the feminist activist, according to the victim and two sources directly familiar with the matter. Allegations of groping and unwanted touching were allegedly brought to Sarsour during her time as executive director of the Arab American Association. In response, Sarsour, a self-proclaimed champion of women, attacked the woman bringing the allegations, often threatening and body-shaming her, these sources alleged. One week after President Trump won the election, some Washington residents protested against him on the Capitol grounds. One sign, illustrated with an outline of the District of Columbia, read, “Don’t Drain my Swamp.” The federal capital´s incestuous network of revolving-door cronies and entrenched bureaucrats have so protected and increased their own power in recent years that the five wealthiest counties in America are all within commuting distance of Capitol Hill. In hindsight, the most important thing said this year came on Jan. 3. Chuck Schumer, leader of Senate Democrats, warned President-elect Trump he would pay a price for disputing intelligence officials’ findings of Russian meddling. “Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer declared. Schumer was right about a vendetta, but wrong about timing. It’s now clear that intelligence officials already had started “getting back” at the next commander in chief. The ethanol lobby is talking tough and issuing ultimatums to the Trump White House. Its message, in brief, is “Don’t mess with our federal mandate.” If the White House wants credibility in its free-enterprise talk and promises to drain the swamp, it should tell the ethanol lobby to get lost. The fight began because refiners are finding it increasingly unaffordable to comply with the federal ethanol mandate, and if it continues it might kill independent oil companies. The office of Sen. Alabama is one of the most reliably Republican states in the country. The last time a Democrat was elected was in 1992, and no Democrat has won more than 40 percent of the vote in a Senate race there since 1996. The closest election in recent memory was in 2002, when Jeff Sessions won re-election by a razor-thin margin of 19 points. Sen. Richard Shelby has won his last three elections by 35 points, 30 points and 28 points, respectively. So it takes a special kind of stupid to pick a candidate who can lose to a Democrat in Alabama.

The Obama administration used government agencies to wage a covert war on their political enemies. This is an all-out war. We have a growing mountain of evidence to suggest the FBI was attempting to overthrow a duly elected president. We have evidence to suggest the FBI was protecting Hillary Clinton so she might be elected president. There is no smoking gun just yet – but the evidence is staggering – it is simply staggering. Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) told the Todd

For much of the year, Kirsten Gillibrand’s critics — sensing a presidential aspirant in their midst — had assumed that the New York senator could not hear enough about herself. For one day at least, it appeared she had. It had been about 10 hours since President Trump accused her of “begging” for campaign contributions that she “would do anything” to secure, and the Ms. Gillibrand, driving with her 14-year-old son on Tuesday evening, flipped on the radio looking for an update on the Senate race in Alabama. The top story, instead, was her. The radio went off again. What, exactly,

PART I A GLOBAL THREAT EMERGES How Hezbollah turned to trafficking cocaine and laundering money through used cars to finance its expansion. In its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States, according to a POLITICO investigation. The campaign, dubbed Project Cassandra, was launched in 2008 after the Drug Enforcement Administration amassed evidence that Hezbollah had transformed itself from a Middle East-focused military and political organization into an international crime syndicate that some investigators believed was

The Democracy Dies in Darkness Café is located conveniently near the Capitol, the Hill and the FBI headquarters. It’s open all night and I stopped in for a late-night coffee with my friend, a fiction novelist who was depressed. “I spent a year writing about a coup attempt against an outsider who by strategic brilliance defeated the handpicked candidate of a cabal of establishment powerhouses. It involved the highest officials of the FBI and Department of Justice. They manipulated a FISA Court into letting them electronically surveil the candidate and all who worked with him, unmasked their names, leaked what

Washington — Once again, black women showed up for Democrats, with nearly all of them voting in Alabama for new Sen. "Black women showed up and showed out," said Kimberlè
