Harvey Weinstein accusations
cause chaos in Hollywood

Fox News, by Staff

Hollywood is in chaos, and all because of one man: Harvey Weinstein. Multiple allegations of rape, sexual harassment and trading sex for movie roles have forced one of the most powerful men in show business out of his company and begging for help and forgiveness. But the ripples extending from the wake of Weinstein’s dramatic fall extend much further than his business and personal relationships and so far show no signs of abating. From the women he allegedly abused, to the associates who allegedly knew about his behavior all along but stayed silent, to the A-list actors and actresses who depend on him

My daughter worked in the movie business in PR about 10 years ago, when she was in her early 20´s. She was a bit star struck and was thrilled to have close and daily access to people like Johnny Depp (hot), Keira Knightly (serious eating disorder), Orlando Bloom (smelly), Kevin Spacey (hilarious) and Robert DiNiro ("Bob" to her). After about two years she moved on to less sexy areas of PR like real estate and medical technology because she began to see the entertainment business as vacuous. When this story broke, all she said was that Hollywood as a whole is filthy and disturbing, little more than a racket for powerful perverted men to use the vulnerable, ambitious, beautiful and callow without fear
of reprisal or prosecution. I personally have never been particularly enthralled by movies but if Hollywood is simply a huge brothel funded by movie profits no wonder the products are so bad.

I agree very much with the assessment that Hollywood has become a role model for our children. Probably even for some of us but have rehabilitated. I believe there is a much better role model but that is just me.

How can these Harvey Weinstein accusations cause chaos in Hollywood when it has been a chaotic climate since the beginning?

Couldn´t care less if all of "Hollywood" (in the many places it is located) met the same deserving fate as Sodom & Gomorrah. Couldn´t happen to a better crowd that worked hard to earn their fate and the wrath of God.

Hard to say which came first in this chicken/egg scenario. Do powerful men take advantage of sweet innocent women ... or do conniving women see the power and are drawn to it? No one yet has stated old, fat pock-marked Harvey ripped their clothes off or even drugged them like Cosby. Seems the ladies dropped their garments willingly ... or at least as a bribe that often worked!

Hollywood keeps braying about "their art". Seems to me we are witnessing the real art in Hollywood and that is the oldest profession in the world is alive and well and thriving in that community. Their sanctimonious rants on everything from weather to women´s rights is a joke. Who are they to lecture anyone on with their wrongheaded opinions. They have zero moral authority, but I´ll give them this, they have loud mouths and a whole lot of hubris. I seldom go to a movie and see no reason to alter that decision. Why put money in the pockets of pervers and sexual abusers? Ashley Judd is especially hypocritical with her cowardice in the face of real sexual abuse....some feminist. She is like all the others...willing to do whatever was necessary to get the right break.

condemn this type of behavior when we see it

Yes, because only when others are present and actually SEE a girl, against her wishes, watching Harvey Weinstein take a shower and when others actually SEE Harvey Weinstein try to force a young actress up to his hotel room, swearing by his children he´s not going to do something he´s used to like groping her breasts, THEN Ben and his ilk can condemn this behavior. Because of course until that happens, like Lanny Davis would say, "There is no POOF."

and help ensure there are more women in positions of power

Why? So women in power can force men to watch them take showers? Is it a given that ALL men in power merely want to take advantage of women and get away with it for years because people like Ben who KNEW it was happening would enable the behavior?

I get it Ben; because Harvey Weinstein was a KNOWN pervert and got away with being a KNOWN pervert by the Great Land of Pretend (including YOU), ALL men would do the same thing and only a woman in power would prevent it.

I was watching a report on the Weinstein situation yesterday and I was suddenly reminded of that deep cut track on the Eagles´ "Long Run" album called "The King of Hollywood." If they weren´t singing about Weinstein specifically, they were certainly singing about a predatory culture that has existed in the film industry for decades.

Let´s take a look. Is the decadence any different, less disgusting, or wide spread than it has been lo these many years in that beautiful place, "Hollywood"? So, what else is new? These people have been swapping wives and husbands, taking drugs, posturing for an admiring public, and covering up this kind of behavior since the days of Mac Sennett and Cecil B. DeMille.

Now, when the bloated carcass becomes available, who feasts on it like the carrion creatures that they are, the rest of the Hollywood elite. The Meryl Streeps, and the rest of the vultures who used to join in the "glamour" of this swolen pathetic former icon, Weinstein, now treat him like a pinata for the preservation of their own "star" status.

I haven´t seen a movie for more than 20 years so I don´t have a dog in this hunt. But let me add this one admonishment: A plague on ALL of your houses.

The sexual harassment hysteria that shifted with such convenient alacrity from the entertainment industry and the news media to Capitol Hill has nothing to do with protecting women, “rape culture,” or radical feminism. It isn’t even about destroying President Trump, though his downfall is ever a consummation devoutly to be wished by the left. #MeToo, in its partisan permutation, is instead a movement cynically co-opted by Democrats desperately seeking an issue — any issue — that will save them from disaster in next year’s midterms. Al Franken’s resignation speech on Thursday seemed less heartfelt than grudging. He cast it not as an act of atonement — he continues to deny the charges largely and acknowledged through his stifled rage that his previous quasi-apologies had hastened his demise — but a reluctant act of gallantry. He was submitting docilely to the “broader conversation” on sexual harassment, he said, while signaling that his replacement, to whom he referred as “her,” would be a female pol embodying that conversation. A supposed "rising star" at the State Department has resigned in anger over President Trump´s and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson´s policies. Elizabeth Shackelford gave her resignation letter to the left-leaning Foreign Policy magazine, which was, of course, all too happy to publish it. Shackelford´s letter says she believes the new administration has abandoned human rights as a priority, and shows disdain for the State Department´s diplomatic work. "I have deep respect for the career Foreign and Civil Service staff who, despite the stinging disrespect this Administration has shown our profession, continue the struggle to keep our foreign policy on the positive

What´s the point of it? Why do you find joy in taking innocent people and finding a way to be mean to them,´ Keaton asked his mother through tears. ´It´s not okay,´ he said. (Video/Photos) His mother then asked: ´What did they say to you?´ ´They make fun

The rules of interaction between women and men in the workplace have been changed with a suddenness that inevitably produces unforeseen negative consequences, no matter how positive and necessary the switch might be. (snip) With the stakes so high, given the presumption of female veracity and male culpability anytime an objection is raised, men are, frankly, terrified. Get used to it, ladies. That is the other side of the coin of the new normal. The old norms that men (often cluelessly) incorporated into their behavior now have been discarded, but we have no clear understanding of what should replace them. By

President Trump attacked Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) in a sexually suggestive tweet Tuesday morning that implied Gillibrand would do just about anything for money, prompting a swift and immediate backlash. “Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Charles E. Schumer and someone who would come to my office ´begging´ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump,” the president wrote. “Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!”

What do we know about the suspect? Law enforcement sources told Fox News Ullah lives in Brooklyn. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said the explosion was an “attempted terrorist attack.” Sources told the Associated Press that Ullah may be of Bangladeshi descent. What else do we know about the

Several women who have accused US President Donald Trump of sexual assault and harassment were expected Monday to call on Congress to open an investigation. A press conference by the women will be hosted by Brave New Films, a media company that recently produced a clip detailing sexual harassment or assault claims by 16 women against Trump. A press release from Brave New Films on Sunday said the women would relate their accounts of Trump’s alleged “groping, fondling, forcibly kissing, humiliating, and harassing women.” The White House has dismissed all of the accusations as lies. During Trump’s presidential campaign, more than

One of the more obvious things about the Trump economy is how much better it is than the Obama economy. Yet incredibly, President Obama, as if jealously looking on at this night-and-day difference, is trying to claim credit for it. From the Washington Times: Former President Barack Obama is taking credit for the robust economic growth that is taking place under President Trump. At a conference of mayors in Chicago, Mr. Obama congratulated himself Tuesday for strong employment numbers in the U.S. this year, saying his climate-change policies have contributed to growth.

President Donald Trump said Monday a bomb blast in Manhattan highlights the need for an immigration overhaul - as the man arrested was revealed to be part of a large Bangladeshi family sponsored by his aunt or uncle. Trump said that the U.S. ´must fix its lax immigration system, which allows far too many dangerous, inadequately vetted people´ into the country. The Republican president pointed to his controversial travel ban as an example of the kind of policy that needs to be put in place. And he called on Congress to end ´chain migration,´ in which family members are permitted to join relatives
