LONDON - Sally Jones, a British jihadi who recruited online for the Islamic State group, has been killed in Syria by a U.S. drone along with her 12-year-old son, The Sun newspaper reported on Thursday. A convert to Islam from southern England, Jones was nicknamed the “White Widow” by the British press after her jihadi husband Junaid Hussain, also an IS militant, was killed by a drone in 2015. Quoting a British intelligence source who had been briefed by U.S. counterparts, The Sun reported that Jones and her son had been killed in June close to Syria’s border with Iraq, as she

A shooting at a New Mexico high school this morning left at least two people injured and the gunman dead, according to police. Deputies with the San Juan County Sheriff´s Office told reporters that the unnamed shooter was down but they did not release any other information. GE is slashing 1,100 jobs from its UK power business under an organisational restructure, the firm announced. The planned losses will hit the UK´s engineering heartland in the Midlands, affecting Stafford and Rugby, with the total potential losses representing around 6 per cent of the company´s UK workforce. GE blamed deteriorating market conditions which have had a ´significant impact´ on its economic performance, adding that demand for new built power plants had ´dramatically´ dropped in all developing countries. The US industrial group expects the ´painful but necessary´ job losses to help save $1billion next year as demand for fossil fuel power plants

A record 400 arrests were made for terrorism-related offences in Great Britain in the year to the end of September 2017, Home Office figures show. The figures were increased by a series of arrests following terror attacks in Westminster, Manchester, London Bridge and Finsbury Park. Around 60 people were detained in swoops in the wake of four terror attacks in the UK between March and June. Earlier this week, a report revealed that police and MI5 have foiled nine plots since the Westminster attack in March, in addition to the terrorist incidents that have occurred. NBC staffers are afraid to travel to South Korea to cover the Winter Olympics because they are worried they will get nuked by Kim Jong-un. While the games are usually an event reporters would be clamoring to cover, the hostilities on the Korean Peninsula have been enough to dissuade journalists from wanting to make the trip. The upcoming PyeongChang Olympic Games will be held 40 miles south of the demilitarized zone separating South Korea from North Korea and is less than 200 miles from Pyongyang. A source told Page Six: ´They usually all want to sign up for the Olympics, but they´re

WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump will announce on Wednesday that the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and will move its embassy there, breaking with longtime U.S. policy and potentially stirring unrest. Despite warnings from Western and Arab allies, Trump in a 1 p.m. (1800 GMT) White House speech will direct the State Department to begin looking for a site for an embassy in Jerusalem as part of what is expected to be a years-long process of relocating diplomatic operations from Tel Aviv. Trump is to sign a national security waiver delaying a move of the embassy, since

The Republican Senator for Arizona tweeted the appeal on Monday evening to help him reach the 3million mark. ´We´re only 74 Twitter followers away from 3M,´ he wrote. ´Spread the word & help us reach this big milestone!´ But his ambitious request was met with an instant wall of hostility and the subsequent ´#UnfollowMcCain´ campaign. Mr. Conyers, in an interview Wednesday, tried to head off a possibly disqualifying scandal just a day after his father resigned from Congress amid multiplying allegations of sexual harassment. As issues of sexual harassment and abuse roil Washington, any violent altercation against a woman could doom his effort to take the seat that his father held since 1965. How is it possible that Hillary Clinton escaped criminal indictment for mishandling classified documents despite incriminating evidence that she violated the Espionage Act? Why did Donald Trump become the target of a criminal investigation for allegedly conspiring with Russia to influence the presidential election despite no evidence that he ever did so? The answer, it seems, comes down to one person who played a vital role in both cases: Peter Strzok, deputy director of counterintelligence at the FBI. Strzok was exchanging politically charged texts with an FBI lawyer that denigrated Trump and lauded Clinton at the same time he was
