The Boy Scouts of America announced Wednesday that girls will soon be allowed to become Cub Scouts and to earn the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, the organization’s highest honor. "We believe it is critical to evolve how our programs meet the needs of families interested in positive and lifelong experiences for their children," said Michael Surbaugh, chief executive of the Boy Scouts. The scouting board of directors voted unanimously to make the historic change in an organization that has been primarily for boys since its founding more than 100 years ago. Starting next year, young girls can join Cub Scout units, known as dens.
Comments: This could be good for the transsexuals they must allow, as well. Will they wear kilts to be inclusive? Be prepared...to welcome them into your lair. s/o.
This decision is really going to confuse all of the pervert scoutmasters out there as to which organization to join. Or perhaps it just doubled their options. I would say that another American tradition just went down the drain but both Boy and Girl Scouts have been infiltrated by liberals and LGBT leadership for a long time. Not for my kids.
This is ridiculous. But, it is the first step in more change to the Boy Scouts where they must change their training, their philosophy and their focus to placate the females that are let in. What´s the matter with the girl scouts?
The NFL, MLB, and NBA should admit women players too under "disparate impact", i.e. too many of one gender. And allow a certain quota of wheelchair players too. Should make for interesting play calling and strategies.
Good way to continue the drive to eliminate the idea of men, maleness, masculinity. And it´s not just to let kids be kids. It´s to make little boys into androgynous creatures and little girls into mini feminists.
I was a scout in the early 70´s and it was being ruined by then. It was essentially "city scouts". They had all sorts of merit badges for things that could be done without ever seeing a tree or a stream, and the woods skills were being de-emphasized. They have outlived their usefulness.
That´s the beginning of the end of a once great organization that helped me become who I am.
All things masculine are under attack. Turning boys into men must not be tolerated. What better way to conquer a powerful nation than to rot out the roots of power from within. It really doesn´t matter if it´s a grand plan from an outside entity or not, the effect is the same.
And while we are at it, in case you missed it, there has been a war on women going on too, some women. Women who would prefer to be stay at home moms have been looked down on for decades. It´s the entire family unit that is under siege to be destroyed and replaced by big government.
This is intended to finally destroy the Boy Scouts, which has always been a force for teaching boys to be strong, good, patriotic, capable MEN - everything that the left despises and wants to stomp out of society so that they can have a bunch of wimps and drones to lord over.
Leftists, libs, and "progressives" will never be satisfied until every single institution in our country except the federal goobermint is destroyed. Examples: the Boy Scouts, the Catholic church, Christianity.......
Be Prepared! That´s the boy scout marching song, Be prepared, as through life you march along, ... If you´re looking for adventure of a new and different kind, and you come across a girl scout who is similarly inclined, Don´t be nervous, don´t be frightened, don´t be scared! Be prepared.
This should help complete the process of feminizing the American male. Starting at an early age. Like the Ritalin use on little boys in the schools. And I don´t doubt that this would meet with the full approval of Rex Tillerson who used to be in charge of the Boy Scouts when they decided to allow gay scout masters into the fold to ´lead´. And whatever else they deem fit do.
DECEMBER 14, 2016 WASHINGTON The Boy Scouts of America is not a progressive group, and implementing change is tough.
The massive youth organization, based in Irving, Texas, is a highly decentralized mass of thousands of nonprofits – 70 percent of which are controlled by religious institutions.
And from 2010 to 2012. Rex Tillerson – Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of state and the CEO of ExxonMobil – headed the Boy Scouts as a national push began to let openly gay boys join the group.
Tillerson wasn’t president of the organization in 2013, when the group finally allowed gays to participate, but he was “intimately involved” in the push, according to Zach Wahls, an Eagle Scout who co-founded Scouts for Equality, a national campaign to end discrimination in the Boy Scouts.
Good-bye Boy Scouts? No, good-bye Girl Scouts. Pretty smart move on the part of the BS. Wondering if their numbers are dwindling and letting girls in is intended to help boost them. It probably will, for awhile.
On all of our Boy Scout camp outs in the late 1960s--all of us were between 11 and 16--when we retired to our tents and waited for the Sandman to check us in, you shouldn´t need to guess what the main subject was in each tent as we drifted off. Girls. Girls. Girls. If there had been any flesh and blood teen-aged girls about, approaches would probably have been made, and a few accepted after the Scoutmaster drifted into deep slumber for the night.
I don´t think this is such a good idea. Raging hormones are involved. It might kill the Girl Scouts, and there´s nothing wrong with having some such organizations for teenagers (and just below that age) segregated by sex. The sexes are different, and are fundamentally not interchangeable. Vive la différence!

A former congressional intern reportedly says she too was a victim of inappropriate sexual contact by now-retired Rep. John Conyers, saying Conyers even claimed during that encounter to have “inside information” on then-missing federal intern Chandra Levy. Courtney Morse, 36, described the incident from 16 years ago to The Washington Post. She said Conyers, D-Mich., mentioned the Levy case when Morse was a college intern for him and the congressman drove her home one night. Morse said Conyers wrapped his hand around hers while it was in her lap and said he was interested in a sexual relationship,
Time revealed its 2017 Person of the Year on Wednesday as "The Silence Breakers," a representation of those who came forward with their stories over the prevalence of sexual harassment. The magazine´s editor-in-chief revealed the cover on NBC´s "TODAY" show, saying the woman shown only partially on the cover is someone Time spoke to but "doesn´t feel that she can come forward without threatening her livelihood." The photo includes a group of women: actress Ashley Judd, singer Taylor Swift and former Uber engineer Susan Fowler. Time has identified the Person of the Year for nearly a century,
Deputy White House Chief of Staff Kirstjen Nielsen has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to oversee the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Nielsen, a former Homeland Security official nominated by President Trump, was confirmed by the Senate in a 62-37 vote on Tuesday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that Nielsen understands the department´s daily operations due to her previous experience and is ready to lead on her first day. Meanwhile, Democrats said Nielsen lacks the experience required to run a major agency with 240,000 employees. They also cited concerns about possible White House interference
Kampala, Uganda - For years African leaders have toyed with the idea of free movement by citizens across the continent, even raising the possibility of a single African passport. Now some countries, most recently Kenya, are taking bold steps to encourage borderless travel that could spur trade and economic growth in a region in desperate need of both. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta announced during his inauguration last week that the East African commercial hub will now give visas on arrival to all Africans. That follows similar measures by nations including Benin and Rwanda. The African Union continental body has cheered
Ventura, CA - For a brief time, Bob Pazen thought he had been one of the lucky ones, a man whose house had somehow escaped the ferocious wind-driven fires that destroyed at least 150 other structures in his hillside neighborhood overlooking this picturesque beachfront town. Pazen, his wife, son and their dog had fled just ahead of the raging flames Monday night, (Snip) His story was just one of many illustrating the unpredictability of the flames that had hop-scotched downhill toward the Pacific Ocean on Monday and Tuesday with devastating effect, destroying homes seemingly at random while leaving others untouched.
New York - Beyonce presented Colin Kaepernick with Sports Illustrated´s Muhammad Ali Legacy Award on Tuesday night, and Kaepernick promised that "with or without the NFL´s platform, I will continue to work for the people." Beyonce was brought out as a surprise presenter by comedian Trevor Noah. She said she was "proud and humbled" to present the award. "Colin took action with no fear of consequence or repercussion," Beyonce said. "Only hope to change the world for the better. To change perception, to change the way we treat each other. Especially people of color." Last year´s Ali Award winner, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar,
(Video) - President Trump plans to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the American Embassy there, upending nearly seven decades of American foreign policy and potentially destroying his efforts to broker peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Mr. Trump’s decision, a high-risk foray into the thicket of the Middle East, was driven not by diplomatic calculations but by a campaign promise. (Snip) But the president, faced with a deadline of this past Monday to make that decision, still plans to sign a national security waiver to keep the embassy in Tel Aviv for an additional six months,
According to reports, one man was plotting to blow up the security gates at Downing Street with an explosive hidden in a bag. The man then allegedly planned to storm Number 10 armed with a knife and suicide vest to kill Theresa May. A man, 20, has been charged with preparing acts of terrorism and is understood to have been arrested by Met Police last week. A 21-year-old man is accused of assisting him. Security around the Prime Minister’s home is high with police and security gates surrounding Number 10. Both men are said to have been arrested on November 28. The left, including much of the media, are going nuts now, drooling at Michael Flynn’s guilty plea as if it’s the final nail in President Donald Trump’s coffin — the long-sought means to the impeachment end. It’s not. That’s ludicrous. And the more hours that tick since Flynn announced his guilty plea, the more ludicrous the left’s wild-eyed panting seems. Here are the facts: Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about communications he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on Dec. 22 and 29. In December — after Trump had already won the White House.
Former president Barack Obama reportedly said more women should be in power since men are struggling to get the job done, referring to the increasing number of powerful men who have been accused of sexual assault and harassment. Speaking at an invitation-only conference, Les Napoleons, on Saturday, the 44th president told the room about “the importance of more focus on putting women in power because men seem to be having some problems these days,” French news agency AFP reported. “Not to generalize, but women seem to have a better capacity than men do, partly because of their socialization,”
A 10-year-old girl hanged herself after a video was shared on social media of her fighting an alleged bully. Ashawnty Davis was a victim of "bullycide," when someone kills themselves because of bullying, her parents said. "It´s just devastating," her father, Anthony Davis, told Fox31 Denver. "She was just a child of joy and she brought joy to everyone." Ashawnty, a fifth-grade student at Sunrise Elementary school in Aurora, Colorado, was filmed after she got into a fight with another girl. Her mother, Latoshia Harris, claimed the girl had been bullying her. “I saw my daughter was scared,” Ms Harris said. Footage of the fight was then
Don’t mess with Eli Manning. The Giants fired Ben McAdoo on Monday morning after meeting with co-owner John Mara, less than a week after his much-maligned benching of the veteran quarterback, NFL Network reported. McAdoo did not last two seasons as Tom Coughlin’s successor, let go with four games left in the Giants season. NFL Network reported that “multiple firings” would go down on Monday, though there is no word yet on the fate of GM Jerry Reese. It was a stunning fall for McAdoo, who led the Giants to 11 wins and a wild-card playoff spot in his first season. The team entered 2017 with sky-high
MONTGOMERY, Alabama — Frank Luntz, a GOP establishment messaging consultant, was visibly flabbergasted as every single one of his focus group participants in a Birmingham area Vice News-produced panel backed Judge Roy Moore for U.S. Senate. Titled “Why These Alabama Voters Are Sticking By Roy Moore,” Luntz’s Vice News focus group aired on Vice News Tonight on Dec. 8 on HBO. “Are you all Christians here?” Luntz opens the seven-and-a-half-minute long segment. “Yes,” all of the focus group participants, who joined Luntz in a Birmingham area restaurant, replied. “Is Roy Moore a good Christian?” he followed up. “Yes,” one woman replied. “Absolutely,” another said. “Absolutely?”
Lindsey Vonn’s road to her final Olympics has encountered some trouble. The American skiing star was treated for a back injury after completing her World Cup Super-G race in St. Moritz, Switzerland on Saturday. Vonn went to the ground after crossing the finish line and observers said she was experiencing extreme pain. She was treated in a nearby house and later limped to a car without speaking to reporters.
California´s governor has said that deadly wildfires in the winter will be ´the new normal´, as fire crews rushed to contain the fires, with dry desert winds expected to intensify over the weekend. Governor Jerry Brown on Saturday toured Ventura County neighborhoods ravaged by a weeklong wildfire that killed at least one person and destroyed hundreds of homes and other buildings. At a news conference, the Democrat said drought and climate change mean California faces a ´new reality´ where lives and property are continually threatened by fire, at a cost of billions of dollars. He added that gusty winds and
There are times in life when the institutional ground underneath you begins to crumble — and with it, longstanding attachments. Such is the case for me when it comes to the Republican Party and evangelicalism. I’ve been a part of both for my entire adult life. These days, though, in many important ways they are having harmful effects on our society. The latest example is in Alabama, where Roy Moore, the Republican Senate candidate, stands accused of varying degrees of sexual misconduct by nine women, including one who was 14 years old at the time. Mr. Moore leads in most
An award-winning U.S. diplomat who was seen as a rising star at the State Department has issued a scathing resignation letter, accusing Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the Donald Trump administration of undercutting the State Department and damaging America’s influence in the world. Elizabeth Shackelford, who most recently served as a political officer based in Nairobi for the U.S. mission to Somalia, wrote to Tillerson that she reluctantly had decided to quit because the administration had abandoned human rights as a priority and shown disdain for the State Department’s diplomatic work,
I´m pretty much done with the sex scandals. They were fun, but they´re just going to have to carry on without me. If someone broke the law and you can prove it, prosecute him. If someone violated the rules of his organization, eject him. Other than that, if women have forgotten the fine art of slapping a man in the face, there´s not a whole hell of a lot society can do for them. You keep silent for forty years and then ruin a man´s career with an unprovable allegation — and that makes you a hero? Not to me. Look,
Prior to President Donald Trump’s visit to the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum today, Fox & Friends brought on Trump supporter and former sheriff David Clarke to discuss the president’s appearance. And things got very tense very fast. Right off the bat, co-host Pete Hegseth asked Clarke what he thought about Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), a civil rights icon, deciding not to attend the opening because Trump would be in attendance. Clarke reacted by immediately dismissing Lewis. “John who?” Clarke mocking stated. “John Lewis — he was bloodied on the Selma bridge, Sheriff, when trying to protest voting
Sen. Richard Shelby says he wants a Republican elected to the Senate on Tuesday to represent Alabama, but that he didn’t vote for GOP candidate Roy Moore in the special election. The Alabama Republican said he’s already cast his ballot, and that he chose a write-in candidate. “I’d rather see the Republican win, but I’d rather see a Republican write-in. I couldn’t vote for Roy Moore. I didn’t vote for Roy Moore,” Shelby told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.” Moore has been accused of pursuing sexual relationships with teenagers when he was in his 30s. In some
Short of impeaching President Trump, does anything excite Democrats, the Resistance, and NeverTrumpers like the prospect of the president firing special counsel Robert Mueller? Firing Mueller would, or course, be the quickest way for Trump to get impeached, which might explain a certain air of anticipation in discussions of whether — some prefer to say when -- Trump will sack the prosecutor leading the Trump-Russia investigation. There has been a lot of news and commentary recently interpreting criticism of Mueller by a number of pro-Trump media voices as an effort to encourage Trump to fire Mueller, or lay the groundwork for
California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) says President Trump´s stance on climate change demonstrates that he does not appear to fear the "wrath of God" or have any regard for the "existential consequences" of his climate change policies. “I don’t think President Trump has a fear of the Lord, the fear of the wrath of God, which leads one to more humility ... this is such a reckless disregard for the truth and for the existential consequences that can be unleashed,” Brown said in an interview on CBS´s "60 Minutes," which is set to air on Sunday. Brown, who previously studied to become
Loose dentures? More like loose screws. Donald Trump was slurring his words pretty good last week for a guy who fancied himself an expert when it came to Hillary Clinton’s alleged brain damage. What would he make of his own slurred speech and bizarre behavior? brain tumor from the weight of that massive combover sitting on top of his head like a live farm animal? Simply slurred speech because his thoughts are so fantastic that his mouth can’t keep up?
WASHINGTON — Around 5:30 each morning, President Trump wakes and tunes into the television in the White House’s master bedroom. He flips to CNN for news, moves to “Fox & Friends” for comfort and messaging ideas, and sometimes watches MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” because, friends suspect, it fires him up for the day. Energized, infuriated — often a gumbo of both — Mr. Trump grabs his iPhone. Sometimes he tweets while propped on his pillow, according to aides. Other times he tweets from the den next door, watching another television. Less frequently, he makes his way up the hall to the
