Has US military helicopter been SHOT DOWN?
Aircraft crashes in Japan near North Korea

Daily Express [UK], by Mark Chandler

AN American helicopter has crashed in Japan just hours after US aircraft took part in military drills near North Korea. The helicopter came down in the Okinawa region near the village of Takamura Takae on Wednesday morning, local media reported. Images taken from the scene showed the aircraft engulfed in a fireball with thick black smoke pouring into the sky. The incident, which occurred shortly after US military drills over the Korean peninsula, led to speculation that North Korea could have shot down the helicopter. Pyongyang has previously vowed to fire at any US aircraft flying near its territory. Police headed to the

Not likely . North Korea is 800+ miles from Okinawa.

That model of helicopter is old and has a history of crashing from time to time. As the poster above told us, Okinawa is a long way from North Korea, and is out of range of North Korean Air defense missiles. Chances are the cause of the crash was a mechanical issue.

This reporter knows nothing about helicopters or air defense systems and cannot even read a map. His editors apparently don’t either and don’t even know how to evaluate their reporter’s knowlege. Pathetic!

#1 beat me to it. Okinawa is nowhere near North Korea. This is an unbelievably stupid story.

Have any Daily Express writers or editors ever had a basic course in world geography?

Do they not have maps in the UK?

Pretty pathetic.

A SYNAGOGUE was attacked by around 20 masked men while hosting a youth party in Gothenburg, Sweden, local media have reported. Police arrived at the scene, where Jewish students had taken refuge in the basement. A police spokesman said: "There are several molotov cocktails that have been thrown against the synagogue. "It´s about bottles and gasoline." A fire broke out between vehicles in the car park, fire fighter Kristoffer Wahter told local news. No injuries were caused and the building did not catch fire, Police inspector Peter Nordengard said. Initial local media reports suggest the group was around 20 men wearing masks carried out the

Theresa May today crowned her church´s Christmas tree with a shoe in fitting tribute to her love of expensive footwear. The Prime Minister beamed as she placed the silver heel while husband Philip watched on in their Maidenhead church. Mrs May described shoes as ´the love of her life´ after famously chiding her colleagues for their reputation as ´the nasty party´ in a pair of leopard-print kitten heels in 2002. The tree she crowned was one of many in St Luke´s church which held its annual tree festival today. There was not a hint of tiredness about Mrs May who

Hundreds of drinkers descended on London dressed as Father Christmas for SantaCon as the annual American pub crawl hit the UK once more. Describing itself as ´non-profit, non-political, non-religious and non-sensical´, the parade that originated in San Francisco invites people to ´join the naughty list´ and down drinks in the capital´s bars and open spaces. But today´s festive frivolities weren´t restricted to indoor venues, as Santas were spotted pouring themselves drinks outside - with one unloading a large bottle of gin into a plastic bottle. One of St Nick´s elves was pictured grappling with another little helper in the dirt while another reveller

President Donald Trump is committed to ongoing efforts to reach an Israeli-Palestinian peace accord, the U.S. ambassador to the UN said Friday amid a backlash over his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel´s capital. "Let me again assure you, the president and this administration remain committed to the peace process," Ambassador Nikki Haley said at an emergency meeting of the Security Council that was convened over Trump´s decision Wednesday. She added that Trump, in his reversal of two decades of American foreign policy, was simply recognizing reality, since the Israeli government and parliament are

Israeli warplanes rained down missiles on Gaza overnight in retaliation for rockets shot into Israel from terrorists in the coastal enclave. Targets included two weapons manufacturing sites, a military compound and an arsenal. Reports in Gaza said that 15 people were injured in the strikes, including a six-month-old boy. Two members of Hamas were killed at the Hamas facility at Nusseirat in central Gaza, officials said. The attack was a response to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip on Friday which forced Israeli civilians in the south of the country to run for cover as air raid sirens blared for the first time

Yes of course President Trump came through and delivered as promised on Jerusalem. He said he would. He said he would name Jerusalem the capital of Israel (later the Embassy, but that’s just detail)…and skeptics beware. This man, this president, means what he says. He’s a New Yorker. New Yorkers do not welch on a bet. Speaking of which – I am owed. I intend to become rich from all the skeptics who bet against him…and me. I kept saying he’d do the right thing. GE is slashing 1,100 jobs from its UK power business under an organisational restructure, the firm announced. The planned losses will hit the UK´s engineering heartland in the Midlands, affecting Stafford and Rugby, with the total potential losses representing around 6 per cent of the company´s UK workforce. GE blamed deteriorating market conditions which have had a ´significant impact´ on its economic performance, adding that demand for new built power plants had ´dramatically´ dropped in all developing countries. The US industrial group expects the ´painful but necessary´ job losses to help save $1billion next year as demand for fossil fuel power plants

I´m pretty much done with the sex scandals. They were fun, but they´re just going to have to carry on without me. If someone broke the law and you can prove it, prosecute him. If someone violated the rules of his organization, eject him. Other than that, if women have forgotten the fine art of slapping a man in the face, there´s not a whole hell of a lot society can do for them. You keep silent for forty years and then ruin a man´s career with an unprovable allegation — and that makes you a hero? Not to me. Look,

Prior to President Donald Trump’s visit to the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum today, Fox & Friends brought on Trump supporter and former sheriff David Clarke to discuss the president’s appearance. Al Franken’s resignation speech on Thursday seemed less heartfelt than grudging. He cast it not as an act of atonement — he continues to deny the charges largely and acknowledged through his stifled rage that his previous quasi-apologies had hastened his demise — but a reluctant act of gallantry. He was submitting docilely to the “broader conversation” on sexual harassment, he said, while signaling that his replacement, to whom he referred as “her,” would be a female pol embodying that conversation. The speech followed the usual pattern of lying pols: I didn’t do it, I’m only quitting because I am a

Without mentioning the current president, Obama told the gathered audience of 1,800: ´We have to tend to this garden of democracy or else things could fall apart quickly.

WASHINGTON — Around 5:30 each morning, President Trump wakes and tunes into the television in the White House’s master bedroom. He flips to CNN for news, moves to “Fox & Friends” for comfort and messaging ideas, and sometimes watches MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” because, friends suspect, it fires him up for the day. Energized, infuriated — often a gumbo of both — Mr. Trump grabs his iPhone. Sometimes he tweets while propped on his pillow, according to aides. Other times he tweets from the den next door, watching another television. Less frequently, he makes his way up the hall to the

Opposition research must have started as soon as, if not before, Donald Trump announced he was running for president. I am sure many of Trump´s Republican opponents, as well as Hillary Clinton, the DNC, liberal interest groups, the media, and others were searching far and wide for trash on Trump. The research must not have produced enough trash, or else why would the DNC and Hillary have paid Fusion GPS so handsomely to create what is clearly a false document? Fusion GPS trafficked the document to the Justice Department and intelligence officials. They obviously had seen how many intelligence officials
