NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to all 32 NFL teams on Tuesday, sharing his belief ´that everyone should stand for the National Anthem,´ and adding that the league needs to ´move past´ the controversy surrounding player protests. According to the memo, which was obtained by ESPN´s Adam Schefter and posted on Facebook, Goodell feels the ongoing protests during the national anthem threaten to ´erode´ the ´unifying power´ of football. A large number of NFL players have been protesting police brutality against minorities since 2016 without any punishment from their respective teams or the league itself. In a conference

You´ll notice he used the weasel word "should" instead of WILL in reference to the standing. Sorry Roger, I hope the next thing that happens is all your tax dodge cutouts are ended...

Goodell still needs to define the difference between "should" and "must" because the defiant players surely will.

I believe the word in the rules say ´should´. That leaves a lot of wiggle room. The word "shall" is more direct. I read that somewhere not long ago.

A memo obviously written by the crisis adviser. Certainly nothing sincere, or heart felt from the NFL Commissioner, owners, or players.

It took me awhile to figure out what the NFL and the team owners were thinking on this issue. They thought the controversy would drive more eyeballs to watch the games...the "all publicity is good publicity" school of thought. Now that they realize that there IS such a thing as bad publicity they are going into damage control mode.

This cow has done left the barn, Ma.

It might have been nipped in the bud last year, if NFL so-called "leadership" had reacted. But it has now metasticized throughout the sports and entertainment worlds, adding to the negative image (and substance) of the NFL as a bunch of overpaid, ungrateful whiners who don´t respect our American culture and greatness.

I certainly do not intend to watch or patronize the NFL, ever.

And, I don´t think the NFL will recover from this scandal.

I´m sure its for the same reason Jerry Jones, who once knelt with his players during the National Anthem, said "If we don´t stand for the National Anthem, we don´t play". It´s hurting them in the pocket book.

Well, with No Fans Left, professional football will be Not For Long. I missed most of last year, and I will be missing all of the rest of this year, including the Super Bowl.

BTW, the white players should be protesting the fact that black players are over represented in the No Fans Left by a factor of 7.

Clinton Scandals: For well over a year now, the progressive left in the Democratic Party have tried hard to sell the idea that, a) Russia meddled in our election, and, b) that it was to the detriment of Hillary Clinton. After nearly a year and a half of investigating, neither appears true. What is true, and now documented, is that Hillary Clinton and her family foundation both benefited handsomely from Russian corruption. Citing federal officials and government documents, The Hill details the Russians´ nuclear-industry corruption here in the U.S., citing extensive evidence that "Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery,

Someone within the Obama administration’s intelligence apparatus made requests to unmask the identity of Americans named in intelligence reports on behalf of Samantha Power, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. That’s what Power told the House Intelligence Committee last week during a closed-door interview. South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy revealed in an interview on Fox News on Tuesday that Power was “emphatic” on the point that someone else in the Obama administration made the unmasking requests that have been attributed to her. Fox News recently reported that Power made approximately 260 unmasking requests — a rate of one per business day

Sen. John McCain exploded on Fox News’ Peter Doocy on Wednesday for asking him if he would oppose everything that President Trump asks him to do. Doocy asked Sen. McCain if his relationship with the president is “so frayed” that McCain would “not support anything that he comes to you and asks for?” McCain snapped, “Why would you say something that stupid? Why would you ask something that dumb?” “My job as a United States senator — you mean I am somehow going to behave in a way that I’m going to block everything because of some personal disagreement?” McCain said incredulously.

Damning new evidence appears to show that Hillary Clinton used her office as Secretary of State to confer benefits to Russia in exchange for millions of dollars in donations to her foundation and cash to her husband. But there’s more. It seems it was all covered up for years by the same three people who are now involved in the investigation of President Donald Trump over so-called Russian “collusion.” (Snip) What’s more, Holder was a member of the “Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States” which approved the uranium sale to the Russians in 2010.

A Massachusetts elementary school has canceled its Halloween events and is celebrating ´black and orange spirit day´ instead. Boyden Elementary School´s principal sent a letter to parents this week saying that it had decided to cancel its traditional Halloween parade on October 31 because it was ´not inclusive of all students´ and was ´difficult´ for many. Without specifying which students the parade excluded, Principal Brendan Dearborn said the school would instead hold a ´black and orange spirit day´.  Children are allowed to dress in those colors but cannot come to school in costume. They are however allowed to wear costumes to an

Meghan McCain gave an interview on Tuesday where she responded to President Trump‘s warning towards her father after his speech against “spurious nationalism.” In a Good Morning America interview with George Stephanopoulos, McCain noted that Trump and her father clearly have different ideas about the best direction of the country. She went on to declare that she’s “exhausted” with the GOP’s infighting and the attacks against her dad after all the challenges he has already faced. “I don’t know if you guys have heard but my father is fighting glioblastoma right now and there’s nothing that could possibly happen or

The much-publicized Tuesday meeting between NFL officials, team owners, NFLPA officials and several players lasted about three hours. While there was undoubtedly a lot discussed in that time, it sounds as though there has not been a resolution on a rule change to require that players stand for the national anthem before games. A statement released jointly by the NFL and NFLPA called it a “productive meeting,” and that there will be another session in the future: Today owners and players had a productive meeting focused on how we can work together to promote positive social change and address inequality
