Hillary Clinton supports anthem

Hillary Clinton figuratively took a knee Monday night. The former presidential candidate pledged her support to the hundreds of NFL players who have protested during the national anthem this season while speaking at the University of California, Davis. "Let´s be clear, those players aren´t protesting the national anthem or the flag," Clinton said. "They´re protesting racism and injustice, and they have every right to do so!" The 2016 democratic nominee received a loud applause after her announcement. Clinton´s support of anthem protests is a sharp contrast to her counterpart Donald Trump´s stance on the matter. Trump has repeatedly criticized players who

When a player is ´on the clock´ they don´t ´have the right´ to protest. If I had protested like that with the jobs I had, I would have been terminated that instant. No counseling, no letters in my record, etc. Fired.

They have the right to protest. They will not be arrested, thrown in jail, or convicted of any crime.

Their employers have the right, clearly but unnecessarily spelled out in their contracts, to take any action up to and including termination.

And the fans have the right not to come, or not to watch.

Supporting millionaire professional football players “right” to disrespect the National Anthem, the American flag, the military, veterans, and first responders has never been a favorable factor for politicians who are aspiring to be elected President of the USA who also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The USA certainly dodged a bullet when Hillary Clinton lost the election last November.

And I have the right to not like it and to object in any way that is normally legal.

Why does anyone want to trade on being sons of slaves unfreed? To demean the country their ancestors helped make, helped fight to make free from therule of the Ehglish who sent their excess population here to take the natural resources and mineral wealth for the homeland?

Do they betray their own ancestors by not seeing Marxism for the threat to their continued progress? Their race´s image to the rest of the world?

The anger now stirring among the foolish NFL protestors is that they must now choose between money and "the cause". To rebuild they craft and livlihood or to take it down to make a point of--whatever.

True empowerment comes from self control, self worth attitude and personal self talk.

So who owns the problem that is quickly becoming a stalemate? And who/what an bbring it to detent?

Further to comments made by numerous posters:

Although player shave a right to express their views and stage protests, they do not have a right to do so wherever and whenever they wish.

Players have contracts to play football. Money to pay them comes from the fans who purchase tickets and from advertisers who pay to broadcast the games in order to reach viewers. Those people paid to watch football, not political statements.

If players wish to protest they are free to call press conferences, rent stadiums or auditoriums and advertise that they will conduct their protest then and there. See how large an audience they draw.

No, you old barfly. They are protesting on the job. Their job is to play football, not to use their employers´environment to personally protest. They are well within their right to protest on their own time, but using your workplace and time to stage a protest is not acceptable. It is a cowardly thing to do. If they feel so strongly, let them take it to the public on their own time. If they want to kill the goose that laid the golden egg, they are doing a bang up job.

The health of a nation’s economy and the health of its people are connected, but in some surprising ways. At times like these, when the economy is strong and unemployment is low, research has found that death rates rise. At least, in the short term. In the long term, economic growth is good for health. What’s going on? One study of European countries just before and during the Great Recession found that a one-percentage-point increase in the unemployment rate is associated with an 0.5 percent decline in the overall mortality rate. Mallory, a co-chair of the Women’s March on Washington, was traveling home to New York when the pilot followed her to scold her over an argument she had with a gate agent. He then had her summoned from her seat and kicked off the flight, she told the Daily News. “It definitely was white male aggression. I was singled out, I was disrespected, and he was trying to intimidate me. I was

If the NFL thought Americans would ease the backlash against the league — they were sadly mistaken. Photos of empty stadiums from around the league show how dire a situation kneelers have spurred. (Photo) Breitbart News reports: Note, that the Jets played New England on Sunday, meaning there should have been a big crowd for that game. The Texans, Atlanta, and Baltimore are also very relevant teams with relatively loyal fan bases. Yet, thousands upon thousands of fans no-showed or didn’t buy tickets for those games. Kaepernick first protested in the 2016 preseason when he took a knee during the national anthem. He claimed he protested against racial injustice across the country. The protests took off, with many players following his lead.Kaepernick hired criminal defense lawyer Mark Geragos, who has represented Michael Jordan and musician Chris Brown. Sen. John McCain warned against the US turning toward ´half-baked, spurious nationalism´ and jabbed at unnamed pushers of isolationist politics while at an event honoring the war hero´s contributions. (Snip) ´To abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems, is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history,´ he said. He added: ´We live in a land made of

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough said President Donald Trump was the “antithesis” of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Scarborough said, “You look in Matthew, and go through the Beatitudes. Every single Beatitude. You go through Jesus’s teaching. What he says he wants people to be. Donald Trump is the antithesis of just about every single thing that Jesus Christ said on the Sermon on the Mount. Go read it.” He added, “None of us are perfect, but he goes out of his way it seems to thumb his nose at all conventions. Including the basics of

As National Football League owners and players’ union representatives meet in New York today and tomorrow to discuss the players’ recent demonstrations — the kneeling, linking arms or raising fists during the national anthem — they should know how the law views these protests. This will not only tell them what the league lawfully can do; it also will reveal something about American values. There has been some confusion about the law and the anthem protests. Because the First Amendment generally treats government and corporate power differently, allowing a business to impose on its workers what the government

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D., Ill.) said in a radio interview on Sunday that Democrats can lose to President Donald Trump in 2020 if they "overdo it" by becoming too liberal. Durbin was asked on a local Chicago radio program about comments from Rep. Cheri Bustos (D., Ill.), who warned fellow Democrats that Trump would be reelected if the party becomes too liberal. CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski was first to report on Durbin´s comments. (Audio) "We need to be balanced," Durbin said on "Connected to Chicago" on WLS-AM. "She´s right about that. And as downstater like her, I understand
