Clown panhandles his way to home ownership
Associated Press, by Doug Livingstone

Original Article

Posted By:Maggie2u, 9/25/2017 12:47:50 AM

Skribblez the panhandling clown buried his nickels and dimes in Mason jars. When he saved enough to buy a house, he dug them up. Now, they call him the Homeless Homeowner. But his real name is Ryan Scanlon, a father and college student with a troubled childhood, debilitating seizures, no respect for authority and self-described mental issues. Speaking with a high-pitched voice from the red ball pinching his nose, Scanlon said homeless people need to get a job or do something more than “sitting around at these day centers.

Comments:
Interesting. I see a movie about him in the future.

"Scanlon said homeless people need to get a job or do something more than "sitting around at these day centers."" Yup!!

Or better yet. In Nashville, sitting around our beautiful downtown library that the people of Nashville scraped together our nickles and dimes to build only to see it taken over by shiftless homeless these past few years. They use the computers to look at porn, use the bathrooms to shower themselves or wash their clothes in the sinks. They pin patrons in elevators and threaten sexual assault. They shoot up drugs and then require our librarians to be trained to know how to administer OD antidotes (which the tax payers pay to keep stocked behind the check out desk) so they don´t die before the ambulance arrives.

900+ police/emergency services calls to the downtown library and surrounding area in 2 years.. almost all the assailants were homeless as were many of the victims. Thank you liberal mayor!! /s

We have a lot of homeless here, many brought in by a church who fed, clothed, helped with gov assistance, but never took them back where they came from,a so they panhandled. A Christian agency locally serves lunch five days a week to anyone and it´s a totally different group. Many want jobs but can´t find work because they were felons. There has to be a better way to help them. One guy stayed with someone while the hurricane went over but his camp in the woods was decimated. Imagine your phone and any papers soaked every time it rains. If you find it in your heart, donate tents and tarps to the homeless. They aren´t all druggies and alcoholics.

So he´s a Democrat?

This "panhandling clown" will soon find out what it´s like to beg for taxes, insurance, utilities, and home upkeep.

African immigrants are more educated than

Lots of the news from sub-Saharan Africa is about war, famine, poverty or political upheaval. So it’s understandable if many Americans think most Africans who immigrate to the United States are poorly educated and desperate. Research tells another story. While many are refugees, large numbers are beneficiaries of the diversity-visa program aimed at boosting immigration from underrepresented nations. And on average, African immigrants are better educated than people born in the U.S. or the immigrant population as a whole.

13 Days in July:
The Trump White House’s crucible

WASHINGTON (AP) — They were the 13 days that transformed the White House. Even for an administration that spent most of 2017 throwing off headlines at a dizzying pace, events in the second half of July unfolded at breakneck speed. They encapsulated both the promise and peril of President Donald Trump’s first year in office — and yielded aftershocks that reverberate within the White House even as the calendar turns to 2018. The two-week span laid bare the splintering of Trump’s relationships with two influential Cabinet members, foreshadowed the reach of the Russia probe into the interior of his orbit;

The minuscule Galilean town in which Joseph and Mary spent their lives and raised their son Jesus was, quite literally, a joke. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” asked one disciple, when he heard where the Messiah was from. Some scholars posit that this was a popular saying in the first century. In any event, Nazareth was on the fringes of the Roman Empire. Roman roads avoided it until the second century. Jesus came from a backwater of a backwater; he and his mother and father, the figures at the heart of the Christmas story, were most likely considered throwaway

Kent Wash. - It was supposed to be a second chance at a new life. A three-strikes felon serving life in prison was released early. But, two years later, he and another man showed up to the Kent Regional Justice Center Monday to face murder charges. The alleged victim´s family was also there. The Cabrera family said it was a struggle to show up in court and come face-to-face with the two men suspected of killing their loved one, 24-year-old David Cabrera. “It was pretty hard. It was very difficult for whole family,” said Daniel Cabrera, the victim’s twin brother.

Putting people on a pedestal is risky. It’s too easy for them to fall off. Even so, I don’t think we can, or should, stop ourselves from looking for people to admire. We’re always finding out that someone who seemed wonderful wasn’t really all that we imagined. And lately there’s been a hailstorm of revelations about well-known and well-liked people, mostly men, who have behaved badly toward women and in some cases other men.

PARIS (AP) — Sometime in 2014, a group of analysts walked into the office of Eugene Kaspersky, the ebullient founder of Russian cybersecurity firm Kaspersky Lab, to deliver some sobering news. Kaspersky’s anti-virus software had automatically scraped powerful digital surveillance tools off a computer in the United States and the analysts were worried: The data’s headers clearly identified the files as classified. “They immediately came to my office,” Kaspersky recalled, “and they told me that they have a problem.” He said there was no hesitation about what to do with the cache.

Last week, the rail-thin veteran, now 91, did just that during a brief visit to this base, where guard towers and barbed-wire fences are long gone but some of the two-story wooden barracks that once housed German prisoners still stand.
