Parents divided in opinion
after gender neutral teacher
sends note home with 5th graders

A new fifth grade teacher at Canopy Oaks Elementary is asking students to use gender-neutral pronouns in the classroom. Math and science teacher Chloe Bressack sent the request home in a letter to parents headlined "About Mx. Bressack." “... my pronouns are ´they, them, their´ instead of ´he, his, she, hers.´ I know it takes some practice for it to feel natural,” the letter reads, “but students catch on pretty quickly.” The letter also asks that students use “Mx.," (pronounced ´Mix´) when addressing the teacher rather than Mr. or Ms. The note alarmed some parents. In a post written Tuesday night in the Facebook group

Comments:
Elementary school teacher sends home a note announcing that she´s mentally ill, and the school principal says he´s in full support. Only some parents are alarmed, if not up in arms?

Reinforcing bad grammar should be a reason to fire this teacher. Their, they, them are plural referring to groups and not individuals.

If I had a child in her class I would pull him or her out. The job of a Teacher is to PREPARE a Student to go out into the world. To PREPARE them to succeed in the Workplace. To succeed in being a Parent. WHY in the world should this person teach what SHE thinks is proper. She should be FIRED and someone who follows a Lesson Plan should replace her.

This nonsense surely wastes taxpayer monies - the ´teachers´ are supposed to be covering reading, writing and arithmetic over and over until the children can perform them well. I don´t add American history since these leftard chimps don´t know the correct version.

The left has won. Our culture and our country have lost. It only gets worse from here on out. Is there any ´leadership´ speaking out about this Marxist clap trap? No. I didn´t think so. Anarchy is what the left wants. And they have succeeded without firing a shot. Well, not as many shots (mostly at the cops) as you would have thought it would have taken. And what better way for them to succeed than to inculcate our schools full of young minds full of mush. We are toast. America is toast. Now its Amerika, waiting to be nuked.

Yeah, I´d be divided in opinion too.

I´d have a hard time deciding whether:

To fire her and see that she is never hired by any school again.

Or :

To fire her. then Tar & feather her and ride her out of town on a rail, then see that she is never hired by any school again.

If she´s concerned that all students feel comfortable and have a place to be themselves in her classroom, then I´m sure she´ll be fine with students using the pronouns their parents prefer they use. Right? And the Principal will equally be fine with the students doing what they´re comfortable with even if it´s he/she, him/her. Right?

I´m a woman who used to be a guy, (that´s another story, but put in here for context) This "teacher" is a total bonehead and most likely one of those pushy liberal looser types, who insist (demand) that in the name of diversity you do as they say.
I say they give a very bad name to the rest of my community. Their actions and demands are so very far over the mark. Pull out your children and go to another school.

Because #9 that is what has been happening since Carter created the Dept. of Education, the unions were allowed control of the teachers and tenure. The Dept. of Education should be dismantled, the unions shown the door and tenure cancelled. That would be a start.

Hilarious. In Lambert´s quote supporting the teacher, he uses ´she and ´her´ about half a dozen times in direct conflict with what they wants. And so this one teacher has engineered the bastardization of the previous sentence. You see - it´s not enough to prefer a custom handle to suit your innermost comfort levels, one must change the language and impressionable minds as well. So let Mx Bressack be addressed as such, and in other contexts as simply Mx. Leave the language alone. As #1 points out - the other words have inappropriate meanings when referring to mx.

The gender-neutral pronoun would be ´it.´ Why does it have a problem with ´it´? At least the use of ´it´ doesn´t mess with the kids´ understanding of singular and plural pronouns.

Can this woman be trusted not to go berserk if a student correctly calls her Miss or Mrs.?

Before she can claim gender neutrality, she should submit a DNA sample to prove it.

As noted earlier, the PC principal doesn´t even know how to address "they" properly.

It will never "feel" natural because it´s NOT natural. Imagine being a child with a learning disability struggling to learn in a classroom where the teacher demands to be referred to as "they." It´s shocking that we´ve reached a point in this country where the wants of the teacher trump the needs of the children.

Are they more equal that the rest of us?
How about: just STOP telling normal people how to act, how to feel and how to think. STOP it.

I reject Mx. I might accept "it." But #4, I don´t accept that premise, although I agree that it feels that way sometimes. The public schools are losing more and more students each year. parents are wising up to what is going on in the public schools and they don´t like it.
The ps district here has not had a bond issue pass in nine years. Meanwhile a charter school, that just stated 5 years ago, has already built a $5 mil HS. Last year the the district went all out on it´s requests and asked for a whopping $300 mil bond and asked if the community would not approve that at least pass an $11 mil for raises and bonuses, then hired an expensive PR firm to sell it. Both went down in flames. That sort of thing has been going on all over the country. There is a reason for the online school, charter schools the demand for school vouchers, the home schooling. Take heart elect the right people to the Bd of Ed. It may not be visible but it is happening all over the country. There is a reason you see more of this coming from the ps, that´s all that is left at the ps. The good people are getting their children out of there.

Former President George W. It seems it was all covered up for years by the same three people who are now involved in the investigation of President Donald Trump over so-called Russian “collusion.” (Snip) What’s more, Holder was a member of the “Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States” which approved the uranium sale to the Russians in 2010.

A Massachusetts elementary school has canceled its Halloween events and is celebrating ´black and orange spirit day´ instead. Boyden Elementary School´s principal sent a letter to parents this week saying that it had decided to cancel its traditional Halloween parade on October 31 because it was ´not inclusive of all students´ and was ´difficult´ for many. Without specifying which students the parade excluded, Principal Brendan Dearborn said the school would instead hold a ´black and orange spirit day´.  Children are allowed to dress in those colors but cannot come to school in costume. They are however allowed to wear costumes to an

Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News senior judicial analyst, weighed in on the report, telling FOX Business’ Stuart Varney on “Varney & Co.,” “The significance is an FBI acknowledgement that Huma Abedin, Mrs. Anthony Weiner, when she had a top security clearance as the number two assistant to Hillary Clinton when Hillary was Secretary of State, regularly sent copies of sensitive material to her own laptop so she could look at it at night, either knowing or forgetting that her husband had access to it as well.” Napolitano said this gives insight into the State Department’s casual approach to top secret

For fark’s sake. The guy’s accused of rape, by more than one woman. What sort of behavior does she think “invited” that? Even his somewhat less egregious offenses are inexplicable in terms of an invitation. Does anyone think Lauren Sivan put out the vibe upon meeting famous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein that she was hoping to watch him furtively whack it into a potted plant in a dark corner of an empty restaurant kitchen? The more aggressive harassment is, the harder it is to explain in terms of a misconstrued female “invitation.” Actual assault is plainly indefensible, yet here’s Eddie

WASHINGTON — A young Barack Obama questioned his place in the world and his racial identity, agonized over whether he´d make enough money as a community organizer, and lamented his incompatibility with his ex-girlfriend in 30 pages of letters he wrote to her that are now being archived by Emory University in Atlanta. (Snip) "My ideas aren´t as crystallized as they were while in school, but they have an immediacy and weight that may be more useful if and when I´m less observer and more participant," Obama wrote in 1984 to McNear, who was a student at a California college

The two most recent presidents on Thursday blasted the state of US politics in events that were separated by less than 20 miles. First, it was former President George W. Bush. The most recent former Republican president lambasted a political culture that caused "bigotry" to seem "emboldened." The public comments were Bush´s most pointed since President Donald Trump took office in January. "In recent decades, public confidence in our institutions has declined," the 43rd president said at an event in New York hosted by his namesake institute. "Our governing class has often been paralyzed

Hey, mainstream media! We finally found it — a real Russia scandal involving the 2016 election. With actual evidence of criminal wrongdoing and everything! So come on, New York Times, CNN and MSNBC, let’s ... Hey, where’d everybody go? For months I’ve been doing TV hits as the token conservative and getting grilled over “Russiagate.” Did Donald Trump and the Russians collude to steal the election from Hillary Clinton? And for months I’ve been asking the same questions: Where is the evidence of an actual crime? And since “collusion” isn’t necessarily against the law, what actual crime are Democrats and their media
