The Electoral College Is a
National Security Threat

Politico, by Matthew Olsen & Benjamin Haas

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 9/20/2017 1:01:17 PM

In Federalist No. 68, his pseudonymous essay on “The Mode of Electing the President,” Alexander Hamilton wrote that the Electoral College could shield the United States “from the desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils.” (Snip) Hamilton and his colleagues never could have envisioned a year like 2016, when an enemy state—Russia—was able to manipulate America’s election process with stunning effectiveness. But it’s clear the national security rationale for the Electoral College is outdated and therefore it should be retired. Simply put, it enables foreign powers to more easily pierce the very shield Hamilton imagined

Comments:
I have never seen such a reckless, irresponsible article. What is extremely disturbing and disconcerting is that it is written by two individuals from the intelligence community. Olsen was appointed by GWB in the justice department and went on to work for Holder and Obama. Link below. Haas hates Trump as is show in the link below. Both of these individuals are beyond biased and it is breathtaking that if they are allegedly so intelligent would ever make such outrageous commentary.

Contd. FTA: "But what if the national popular vote determined the president instead of the Electoral College? No voter would be more electorally powerful than another. It would be more difficult for a foreign entity to sway many millions of voters scattered across the country than concentrated groups of tens of thousands of voters in just a few states. And it would be more difficult to tamper with voting systems on a nationwide basis....."

No voter would be more electorally powerful than another? Seriously? Those are some of the most egregious, reckless lies I have ever seen. We all know that if the EC was eliminated that California and the eastern corridor would determine our president. It would also guarantee voter fraud unlike what we have ever seen.

It´s no wonder so many of us are concerned about the fate of our country. There has never been more who have stepped forward in attempt to totally destroy it´s creation. An extremely dangerous change like this would turn us unto a county unlike any other dictatorship in the world where one party would be in power. It´s bad enough now!

Look at the name, fools. United States of America, not United Citizens of America.

The States get together in the Electoral College to elect the President.

Before that happens the individual, separate States hold a vote to decide how that the State´s Electors will vote. Each state should be equal to each other state, and it is actually unfair that California has so many electoral votes. IMO, it should be one vote for each state, but what we have is a compromise which helps the smaller states, even though the large states still have a huge advantage.

But people are so ignorant of the basics of the history and workings of our government that they say and think all sorts of foolish, uninformed and misinformed things.

No, the EC is not a national security threat.

There are 538 EC votes.
3 from DC
100 U.S. Senators
435 U.S. House seat districts

No state should have winner-take-all, because it is actual voter disenfranchising voters who´s district voted Dem or Rep, but the state´s overall voters ended up electing the other side, then having their EC vote allocated to that winner of the state´s popular vote.

Allocate each of the 435 and 3 DC, by winner of the popular vote in each EC district.
It would likely motivate some who decide to sit on the sidelines to vote since they would now realize their vote would count in CA, if they are a Republican, and noting their district could be allocated to the GOP nominee.

Then have the 100 US Senator votes allocated by the desire of the US Senator occupying that office for that election.

No more targeting 5-6 "swing" states, which Hillary, BTW, knew and played that game, but lost.

Oh, give it up. The U.S.S.R. has been influencing American politics for many decades, by funding leftist front groups. The KGB funded American groups opposed to our involvement in WWII, until Germany invaded Russia. The KGB funded leftist groups to protest VietNam. None of this ever bothered Americans, because they were never told about it by the MSM.

Now suddenly Russian influence is something terrible. Just another narrative. If elections were determined by the popular vote, the left would just commit more vote fraud and import more illegal aliens, as they have been doing for decades.

Matthew Olsen & Benjamin Haas are a threat to National Security. The Electoral College has preserved it for over 237 years. The Politico has determined a solid conclusion on Russia manipulated our election process with stunning effectiveness. They should share their evidence with the investigations that have failed to find any such conclusion.

More Politico insanity.

Before the election, Hillary was aghast when Trump suggested the election process might be manipulated. It was. Many illegals and motor voters voted for Hillary. It may have flipped the NH Presidential and and Senate races.

And yet, sore loser Hillary still lost. She, more than most, should know HOW a president gets elected. She had no complaints before the election. Most liberals were OK with the electoral college because they were arrogantly confident they would win.

Now it´s whine, whine, whine all the time.

Liberals are the real threat to this nation. BO did just about EVERYTHING wrong. Trump has reversed significant amounts of the damage. If he had a Congress that had any guts he would have done far more. But the process by which he was elected worked as it should.

This is amazing. That’s amazing. That is absolutely phenomenal. I’ll have to tell my kids that I’m a rock star now,” Wilson told Miami Fox affiliate WSVN-TV, while laughing. Damning new evidence appears to show that Hillary Clinton used her office as Secretary of State to confer benefits to Russia in exchange for millions of dollars in donations to her foundation and cash to her husband. But there’s more. It seems it was all covered up for years by the same three people who are now involved in the investigation of President Donald Trump over so-called Russian “collusion.” (Snip) What’s more, Holder was a member of the “Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States” which approved the uranium sale to the Russians in 2010.

A Massachusetts elementary school has canceled its Halloween events and is celebrating ´black and orange spirit day´ instead. Boyden Elementary School´s principal sent a letter to parents this week saying that it had decided to cancel its traditional Halloween parade on October 31 because it was ´not inclusive of all students´ and was ´difficult´ for many. Without specifying which students the parade excluded, Principal Brendan Dearborn said the school would instead hold a ´black and orange spirit day´.  Children are allowed to dress in those colors but cannot come to school in costume. They are however allowed to wear costumes to an

Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News senior judicial analyst, weighed in on the report, telling FOX Business’ Stuart Varney on “Varney & Co.,” “The significance is an FBI acknowledgement that Huma Abedin, Mrs. Anthony Weiner, when she had a top security clearance as the number two assistant to Hillary Clinton when Hillary was Secretary of State, regularly sent copies of sensitive material to her own laptop so she could look at it at night, either knowing or forgetting that her husband had access to it as well.” Napolitano said this gives insight into the State Department’s casual approach to top secret

WASHINGTON — A young Barack Obama questioned his place in the world and his racial identity, agonized over whether he´d make enough money as a community organizer, and lamented his incompatibility with his ex-girlfriend in 30 pages of letters he wrote to her that are now being archived by Emory University in Atlanta. (Snip) "My ideas aren´t as crystallized as they were while in school, but they have an immediacy and weight that may be more useful if and when I´m less observer and more participant," Obama wrote in 1984 to McNear, who was a student at a California college

The tale of Harvey Weinstein is now a thread that has tangled its way through Hollywood, connecting women, mostly actresses, in a depressingly common way. We all seem to have a Harvey story, each one a little different but with essentially the same nauseating pattern and theme. Women were bullied, cajoled, manipulated, and worse, and then punished. My Harvey story is different, mostly because of timing. I was in one of the first films that Weinstein produced. I accepted a supporting role in a small movie based on “Loser Takes All,” the short novel by Graham Greene. I was twenty years

For fark’s sake. The guy’s accused of rape, by more than one woman. What sort of behavior does she think “invited” that? Even his somewhat less egregious offenses are inexplicable in terms of an invitation. Does anyone think Lauren Sivan put out the vibe upon meeting famous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein that she was hoping to watch him furtively whack it into a potted plant in a dark corner of an empty restaurant kitchen? The more aggressive harassment is, the harder it is to explain in terms of a misconstrued female “invitation.” Actual assault is plainly indefensible, yet here’s Eddie
