President Donald Trump on Thursday squashed earlier reports that he agreed to protect so-called “Dreamers” during a dinner meeting with two top Democrats, and said “massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent.” Trump’s Twitter post was in response to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who said in a statement that Trump agreed to protect Dreamers and agreed to terms on border security -- "excluding the wall." Trump tweeted, "The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and
President Trump knows full well he can never trust the Democrats, about anything. This is chess, and I wouldn´t want to be playing against him right now. The deplorable base understands that the traitorous GOPe needs to be taught a lesson or two
Beware! This looks like the umpteenth repeat of the amnesty now with promised border security that never happens. This game started with Reagan trusting the word of the RATS and it never changes. If you don´t have borders you don´t have a country. Nothing should happen with DACA until the wall is built. There was money allocated for it in the Bush years. Why does the money need to be voted again? It is allocated but never spent. Never grant DACA for a vote on funding the wall only on completion of the wall.
PDT Tweet(s): "No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote."
"The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built."
"Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!....."
"...They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own - brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security"
These are the early morning tweets just sent by President Trump about his White House meal last night with Chuck and Nancy. I now believe that he is discussing things with the two congressional obstructionists, because our two, McConnell and Ryan aren´t acting like the GOP leaders in their perspective chambers. President Trump must know that DACA was completely an illegal unconstitutional action by 0bama (which he knew as he penned it).
I understand that those "children" who as adults are serving in the military should stay. That has always been a right of passage for aliens seeking entry into US. All the rest must go home, regardless of education, especially since they and their family have more than likely been on or are on various welfare programs paid by US taxpayers.
Today, as I said on an earlier posted article, is going to be ´nattering nabobs of negativism´ from all political persuasions, talking heads, and news outlets as to what was said to have been "accomplished" last night over Chinese food.
"William Safire, ´nattering nabobs´ and the power of words"
We shouldn´t get too excited about the versions of "the deal" as "told" by Chuck and Nancy, and "explained" bu the Fake News, Trump-hating Enemedia. Trump has clearly learned from the Congressional double-cross of Ronald Reagan when the "amnesty" was immediate and the border security never arrived. Trump also understands who voted for him. The most significant part of the DACA story -- which of course everybody is missing because the other side is ignoring it -- is Trump´s use of the words "good, educated and accomplished" to describe the "dreamers" he wants to protect. After all the disclosures of DACA fraud this week, watch for some retroactive application of the RAISE Act standards to weed out the thugs and bums and looters and rapists and welfare cheats from Obama´s unwashed hordes of unvetted and unverifiable "innocent little kids."
I must be missing something: As I understand President Trump’s agreement with congress, it is a stroke of genius. All congress has to do is change existing LAWS. Declaring amnesty for the ‘Dreamers’ does NOT change the laws that are on the books. Are they (congress) going to pass LAWS that make our borders open? I say there’s a nil chance of that happening. What congressman would vote for such laws, and expect to be reelected?
Congress promised President Reagan they would enforce the laws in exchange for amnesty. They didn’t keep their promise. They are not going to get away with that this time around. Trump is telling them “Change the laws, because I am going to follow whatever laws are on the books.”
I agree with the above Posters who say Trump will lose his Base if he gives in on DACA. 800,000 "Children" who will eventually be given Citizenship, will then have more children who will be citizens and it won´t take long and we will lose our country to Mexico! Trump will not be re-elected if he agrees to this! I know I won´t vote for him if he caves!
Amazing how fast Trump supporters turn on him. And why all of a sudden would any Trump supporter believe one word out of the mouths of nasty Nancy or chuck you shumer. All of a sudden these two democrats are the epitome of truth. I´ll wait and see just what really happened. My only wish is that PRESIDENT Trump taped the whole conversation.
Trump said no deal with DACA. Well what about the Wall? Was this deal made over the big beautiful chocolate cake they ate last night. If this DACA deal goes through I hope he loses his base, and that includes me. The night before Trump said he was going to help the Dems push through DACA. Is he making fools out of his base?
We all understand that there was never going to be a physical wall along the entire border. Technology these days is such that there are other tools to deter illegal crossings. The point is that every effort should be made to make crossing into this country as difficult as possible.
I am very concerned about deals with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. I am also concerned about Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan. These four individuals have politician egos and dealing with them can be a challenge.
That said, I can understand what President Trump said about the dreamers to a degree. Do you want to deport good people? No, but I do think there should be a penalty for not obeying the law. We hard-working, tax-paying American citizens have to pay fines, penalties, fees (or whatever) when we break rules or laws. Why not them? Also, put an end to the freebies.
As for a wall, there are different walls that can be built. Boundaries and walls can occur without being physical, massive structures.
No, we don´t need a 30´ wall all along the border. How about two 15´ high razor wire fences separated by 50´ and filled with razor wire? Sensors can be buried along it to find those digging tunnels. Of course, I would prefer land mines too, but that would upset the snowflakes....and more importantly, possibly harm some ranchers cattle.
Those early reports were admittedly from Schumer and piglosi. Totally unreliable sources, echoed by the Trump hating enemedia because they all knew such a deal would arouse Trump´s supporters.
The DACA kids do need some special consideration. Their parents broke the law with the encouragement of oblamer, who broke his oath of office by openly refusing to enforce the nation´s laws. It´s not their fault things are in such a mess. A blanket amnesty, however, would not be good. They and their parents shouldn´t be rewarded for breaking the law.
#20 I have to disagree with you. We were led to believe there was going to be ”a big beautiful wall with a big beautiful door”. The tools you refer to like technology have proven in the past to have malfunction or broken down and never been repaired or replaced, these are the words of the Border Patrol Agents. Think of the future if a Dem or a RINO becomes President the illegals are going to pour through the border because there is not a physical wall to stop them. The only possible way to make crossing into this country the most difficult, would be the wall, that’s why the Dem’s don’t want it.
Re #24, prototype walls are now being built - or are about to be built. Why not wait and see? Ask a contractor to build a big beautiful wall with a door in it and watch his expression. That was not a falsehood. That was a campaign rally speech. You start with a vision. Then you get down to brass tacks and make it a practical reality, one that is suitable for solving the problem.
As for DACA,
DACA´s ultimate fate depends on Congress, and Mr. Trump has said they have six months to act. Both Republicans and Democrats have indicated they want to address the problem of undocumented immigrants who come to the U.S. as children, although what kind of compromise they may reach is yet to be seen.
The WALL is THE single most frustrating issue for those who live in border states to TRY to explain to those who don´t. Please listen up. There are 2 types of "illegals." 50% of them ENTER our country illegally and the other 50% ENTER our country LEGALLY---but STAY here ILLEGALLY. The former are generally the peons who dig, climb or swim---risk their lives--- to live in America. Basically, they just want to be ranch hands, keep their nose to the grindstone and quietly keep to themselves. They are mostly harmless. A WALL WILL STOP THEM. The OTHER 50% represent the REAL problem. They come here LEGALLY on $55 shopper or family-visit visas--- to shop at Walmart for the day or visit Tia Maria for the week. They LIE, because they have no intention of shopping or visiting anyone once they cross the border LEGALLY. Instead, huge networks pick them up once they´ve crossed the border and they fan out across America with the INTENTION of ripping off the system. We have NO WAY to TRACK these people, and they KNOW it. How come we can track a UPS package and not a person who overstays his visa? They STAY illegally and there are NO consequences---except to our infrastructure and economy. A WALL will do NOTHING to stop this 50% because they crossed LEGALLY. These are the people with malicious intent! Both groups are doing something illegal and they know it. A wall will help, but it will stop ONLY the LEAST dangerous people, the peons. Most wouldn´t know how to rip off the system if they tried. The wall is political eye candy. Yes, we can say doing something is better than doing nothing. But burying our heads in the sand about the REAL problem is NOT going to produce an effective solution.
Many people are obviously forgetting how Trump became a billionaire. It was not from coming out on the short end of deals. Schumer and Pelosi are being used to show McConnell and Ryan that they are expendable and irrelevant. The two dems are so puffed up by the attention that they will agree to many things if it looks like they are really negotiating. The dems in Congress will follow their lead like little ducklings and the GOPe will be devastated in next year´s election. Do not underestimate this man.
His private conversation about groping with Billy Bush nearly cost him the nomination. His private conversation with Jim Comey led to the appointment of a special counsel. Why did he insist on a private meeting with Chuck and Nancy. Does he learn nothing?
Remember Schumer and Pelosi have been designing Democrat amnesties for decades and are experts on such matters who know every legal twist and turn, and loopholes relating to big amnesties and other legalization programs. For them on amnesty issues the end justifies the means. Obviously President Trump has no such experience when it comes to legalizing masses of illegal aliens, and unfortunately neither do most D.C. Republicans whose only interest in immigration matters has been how much cheap foreign labor any amnesty will supply their business oriented donors who fund their reelection campaigns.
The vast majority of the 800,000 so-called DACA "kids" are not "kids" at, all but are young adults up to about age 37. The way DACA supporters have been characterizing the DACA "kids" is that they are mostly all in higher education, or they are serving in the military are generally false as only a very small percentage of the DACA "kids" have attended college and only about 300 of them have been in the military. In reality most if they work are holding down low paying jobs.
Trump should know now by what Schumer and Pelosi did right after their meeting with him last night by putting out a statement in effect that Trump had agreed with them to a "deal" whereby all the DACA "kids" would essentially be granted amnesty and placed on a defined path to citizenship, a "deal" that Trump subsequently said never happened, that the liberal Democrats will double cross him in a second over immigration reform. President Reagan found that out after the big 1986 amnesty.
A DACA amnesty is very important to the Democrats as they know that the DACA "kids" once legalized will in very high percentages be socialist oriented political activists in immigrant communities and eventually amount to about 800,000 Democrat voters in the years ahead.
Deal or no deal, it is apparent that DACA/amnesty and "border security" are among the chips on the table. The only question is what will be the eventual price against the American people to settle this issue - I did not say solve the problem. So, what can Trump bargain away to keep his constituency happy enough? On this site people argue about the meaning and need for a wall...take a clue.
Ultimately, whatever the final "compromise", the Trumpistas will proclaim victory by the 3-D chess grand master. Much like Reagan in ´86, and (almost) Bush43 in ´06. The Democrats will proclaim humanity was served, justice done.
Trump is NOT a Republican anymore. He is governing as a New York "centrist" signaling a willingness to make artful bipartisan deals. What Trumpistas will eventually have to come to grips with is that these deals will include unpalatable stuff to pass - but they will be bipartisan (with the support of his good friend Chuckie Schumer, his 21st Century Tip O´Neill) to overcome the 60 vote rule in the Senate, and diminish McConnell as "majority" leader.
Hey, so many wanted ACTION, and now they´re going to get it, "good and hard". Can´t wait for the GOPCare "replacement".
Military personnel and working illegals who are paying taxes and not scamming benefits should have a path to citizenship...at the back of the line behind people who come here legally. If in a set amount of time they have not become citizens, goodbye. Students...goodbye. Welfare scammers...goodbye.
So Chuck and Nance come out of their meeting and attempt to control the narrative claiming they have a “deal” on DACA, with an “amnesty” innuendo, and The Wall is off the table. The enemedia run breathlessly to proclaim President Trump has totally caved and betrayed his base. Their Prime Directive is to separate supporters from Trump. This morning Trump clarified, and its Chuck and Nance that are backtracking.
After the last two years I cannot believe any true Trumpers buy into this daily soap opera garbage. It is the lukewarm that are pulled willy-nilly by the narrative because they still think the Dhims are all powerful with a Svengali-like ability to mind-meld with Trump and manipulate him. I find that interpretation facile and without substance. Trump is not a man that can be easily rolled by third-rate socialists. The man I have observed is someone who usually does the snookering.
DACA was an illegal action by Ozero who was successful in his end-run around Congress. President Trump wants to restore the rightful balance of powers within the government, and the action now belongs to Congress. Chuck and Nance still have to work a deal with Turtle Boy and Eddie Munster, and get their delegations to agree. Our President has given them 6 months to change the law, but as usual the congress critters default is to control the narrative rather than pass legislation. Trump is a results oriented man, either way he’s going to enforce the laws on the books. It is up to both wings of the Uniparty to do their jobs.
MAGA – Trust Trump or trust the enemedia. Your choice.
My idea for the ideal wall is take those canisters, you know, those big things semi´s haul on the freeway? Anyway, first, bury them 40 deep, then stack them 40 high and 40 wide..Oh, fill all of them with cement first and as an added bonus top with razor wire. If the snowflakes want have a door, 3´ wide every 100 miles. Easy, peasy. If any wanna be American wants to earn his/her citizenship, work on the wall. A twofer..get paid and learn a trade at the same time.
DACA done Illegally by da Jugg Eared One. Trump tosses it back the Congress to fix it. Illegals out and or face extreme vetting and show worthiness to become US productive Citizens. TRUMP offers MAGA and the DEMS words! MAGA wins and TRUMP gets the VOTES...genius!
Don´t worry, MAGA Trump supporters who never doubt what he says and tell those who don´t trust his word 100%. All Trump has to do is set up a bunch of rallies and shout, "Build that´s wall," and everyone will fall in line again.
Watching Trump negotiate is maddening. I wish they would not keep reporting what he offers and counter-offers. None of the reporting today has been right. I´d just as soon learn what happened after it´s over.
It remains to be seen if President Trump is really an outstanding negotiator, as so far it appears that he has got nothing, but on the debt ceiling and maybe on a DACA amnesty he has given away the store.
They say that there are about 800,000 DACA illegal aliens who are routinely being described to the US public as being "kids" while in reality they are mostly adults up to age 37. The immigration authorities believe that probably half of the 800,000 are fraudulent cases who actually did not even meet meet the Obama crew´s very liberal qualifications for DACA status but were granted that status anyway with a wink and a nod in order to jack up the DACA numbers. The general public has also been told that the DACA illegal aliens have served in the military and should not be deported, but a close looks shows that only a few hundred DACA illegal aliens have actually served in the military.
No doubt there are a lot of DACA illegal aliens who have been in the USA for decades, have led honest lives, and who should be granted a legal immigration status in the USA. The immediate problem is to weed out as many fraudulent cases as possible so that they are not given a permanent immigration status through fraud, and serve to encourage millions of new intending illegal aliens to enter the USA and hide out until the liberal Democrats demand future DACA type amnesties.
There is no doubt that after such an amnesty is granted, and if effective immigration enforcement protocols are not actually in force, that the liberal Democrats will doublecross Trump and will ensure that the planned enhanced enforcement protocols will never actually be implemented, President Reagan found that out.
Amazing, isn´t it? Chuck and Nancy stroll out in front of the camera, lie their asses off, and countless Conservatives who should have known better willingly accept every word of it without question. I haven´t checked Twitter since lunch, so I don´t know if any of those guilty of wailing and gnashing of teeth and rending of clothes and donning of sack cloth have since done a mea culps, but apology or not they all feel like a bunch of freaking fools.
have no idea how many already clutching their pearls and screaming ....flip flop, betrayal.yada yada yada are really trolls..or just going wobbly with such knee jerk reactions..Grow up and grow a pair...
The loss of one of Alabama´s Senate seats to a Democrat adds another snag to the long-sought goal to overhaul Obamacare for Republicans, who already were falling short of the support they needed.Even if a win had gone to Roy Moore, the failed Republican candidate, rather than to Doug Jones, some of the holdouts who doomed the prior efforts in the Senate said they wanted to move on to more bipartisan initiatives. “I think we need to just take a break and get through tax reform and try to find some issues or initiatives that we can come together on,”
In future battles, U.S. soldiers will have a new sidearm for personal protection. The Army’s new pistol may see more action than the last thanks to a design that has great potential for offensive purposes like close quarter combat. The Army has begun fielding the first Sig Sauer XM17 Modular Handgun System (MHS) sidearms. The Sig Sauer 9mm XM17, and the more compact version XM18, are replacing the M9 as the Army’s service pistol. This is the first change in about three decades since Beretta’s M9 was first introduced as the Army’s sidearm in the Cold War era back in
An all-female CNN segment on Wednesday laughed, gloated, and even screamed in mockery at the news that a female African-American member of the Trump administration lost her job. CNN political commentator Angela Rye gloated and screamed at the news that Omarosa Manigault-Newman, director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison, was let go from her position. CNN host Brooke Baldwin, CNN political analyst April Ryan, and regular CNN guest Symone Sanders all joined in what was a public display of complete classlessness as the group all laughed. “Brooke, I´m going to do what you can´t do, and
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee said on Wednesday it was time to issue subpoenas to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department, following the release of texts from FBI officials that suggested they wanted to stop Trump’s election. “It’s time for subpoenas from our committee, not just from the intelligence committee, but from our committee. Subpoenas for documents that we rightfully should have an ability to see,” said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), a senior member of the committee. He also said he wanted to subpoena Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, FBI senior official Peter Strzok, and senior
The Justice Department’s office of the inspector general revealed new details Wednesday about how it discovered the anti-Trump text messages that led to FBI agent Peter Strzok’s removal from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department watchdog, said that his office obtained the text messages from the FBI on July 20. A week later, he met with Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to inform them of the politically-charged texts. Strzok was “immediately” removed from the investigation after Mueller was told of the texts. The Strzok texts, which he exchanged with Lisa Page, his mistress and
On a normal day, Democrats will endlessly lecture you in the most condescending fashion, making liberal use of the preface, “You see.” Because, of course, you don’t see, you are a nonbeliever, a “denier,” and therefore a deplorable, barely deserving of their passing glance, much less their particular attention. And that’s after they’ve lost both houses of Congress and the presidency. Now with the Moore mauling in Alabama and their plot to force Trump’s resignation, they are not nearly as nice. After sacrificing two of their pawns, the now onanistic Bill Clinton and the truly deplorable Al Franken, an oleaginous
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein refused to say on Wednesday whether the FBI paid for the infamous Trump dossier.Rosenstein, who was grilled by the House Judiciary Committee, suggested that he knew the answer to the question, which was posed by Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis.“Did the FBI pay for the dossier?” DeSantis asked. “I’m not in a position to answer that question,” Rosenstein responded. “Do you know the answer to the question?” the Republican DeSantis followed up. “I believe I know the answer, but the Intelligence Committee is the appropriate committee…” Rosenstein began.DeSantis interjected to assert that the Judiciary panel has
As previously reported, on Wednesday evening, Fox News published a portion of the approximately 10,000 texts messages sent between FBI agent Peter Strzok and lawyer Lisa Page. Among the messages is an exchange revealing Strzok and Page discussed an ‘insurance policy,’ against a Trump presidency. The kicker? Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe may have not only been privy to the conversation, but a part of it.The discussion took place in his office.Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) unleashed after hearing about this level of corruption high up in the FBI.
Omarosa Manigault was not fired and escorted out of the White House on Tuesday evening after cursing out Chief of Staff John Kelly, sources inside the building say. American Urban Radio Network White House Correspondent and CNN contributor April Ryan´s claim that she was is the result of a ´personal vendetta´ against Manigault, one said. The women who used to be friends have been tearing each other down since the first few weeks of the administration. In the wake of an announcement that Manigault would depart the White House next month, Ryan said in a series of tweets that sources told her the
Doug Jones believes he became the first Democrat Alabama will send to the U.S. Senate in more than a 30 years because he’s a “center-of-the-road political figure” who seeks “common ground” — a goal he discussed Wednesday with President Donald Trump.“It was a very gracious call,” Jones told reporters. “He congratulated me on the race that we had run. He congratulated me and my staff. … And we talked about finding that common ground. And he invited me up to the White House as soon as I get up there.”Jones rocked the political landscape Tuesday with his surprise defeat of
Appearing on NBC’s Today Wednesday morning to react to Democrat Doug Jones winning the Alabama special election for Senate, Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd spun that the defeat of scandal-plagued Republican Roy Moore was not just a “one-off” and even bizarrely claimed that Democratic losses earlier in the year were a sign of building political momentum on the left. Co-host Savannah Guthrie began the discussion by wondering: “Chuck, a Democrat wins the Senate in Alabama, you haven’t said that in two decades. How did he do it?” In his rambling reply, Todd argued: He did it on the backs of
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.- Dominick White has a bleak but clear-eyed view of his Atlantic City home in a public housing project known for crime and drugs."I grew up in a bad neighborhood," he said. "I´m trying to beat the odds and get away, and not become a statistic."On Monday morning, White will start training for a career as a construction worker, a move that could be a life-changer for him and 14 other young city residents. They were selected for a 12-week program that will teach them construction skills, and then connect them with jobs at the Hard Rock Hotel
On Tuesday, Democrat Doug Jones pulled off a stunning victory over Republican Roy Moore in Alabama. The race went down to the wire, but the Democrat prevailed. Here are five things to know about why Jones won, why Moore lost, and what it means for the future of the U.S. Senate and both parties. 1. Character matters. According to NBC News exit polls, 49 percent of Alabama voters thought the sexual assault accusations against Roy Moore were "definitely" or "probably" true. Republicans and Democrats split on partisan lines — a whopping 82 percent of Republicans said the allegations were "probably" or "definitely" false,
DEVELOPING…Democrat Doug Jones has defeated Roy Moore in Alabama’s Senate election, according to a projection from the Fox News Decision Desk.ORIGINAL STORY…The hard-fought Alabama Senate race between Republican Roy Moore and Democrat Doug Jones remains too close to call, though a Fox News voter analysis shows the Democratic nominee enjoying a lead over his GOP rival. Jones’ competitiveness is a remarkable development in a deep red state that reflects just how badly Moore has been hurt by a sex scandal. But the race is still fluid. With 87 percent of precincts reporting, Jones and Moore both had 49.2 percent, according to
On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Mika Brzezinski argued President Trump’s tweet about Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) constitutes sexual harassment and that people who work around the president and don’t try to get him to delete the tweet don’t care about the country or women. Brzezinski said, “I just want to say something, beyond the fact that it is reprehensible that the president of the United States would say something so derogatory and disgusting about a woman, we’re not surprised, Mr. President. You do it all the time. You treat women terribly, and you treat the women around
Franken announced last Thursday that he would be resigning “in the coming weeks” after eight different women accused him of groping or forcibly kissing them. “The timing of Franken’s resignation remains unclear, as is his motive in delaying it,” New York Magazine’s Ed Kilgore noted at the time. Franken has yet to offer any more specificity about when he’s going to follow through in resigning. Franken’s office did not return multiple requests for comment on the subject. Franken begrudgingly offered his resignation after 35 Democratic senators called on him to do so, three weeks after he was first accused
President Trump attacked Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) in a sexually suggestive tweet Tuesday morning that implied Gillibrand would do just about anything for money, prompting a swift and immediate backlash. “Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Charles E. Schumer and someone who would come to my office ´begging´ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump,” the president wrote. “Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!”
Margaret Thatcher was born one. So were predecessor Prime Ministers Benjamin Disraeli and William E. Gladstone. Diana, the princess of Wales, too. Also William Pitt, who presided over the British victory in the French and Indian War and lent his name to Pittsburgh. And, according to some university authorities four decades ago, me as well. We were all born commoners. But — despite what newspapers, websites and television stations on both sides of the Atlantic have reported with wonder and wild-eyed delight — Meghan Markle, the actor who is to marry Prince Harry, is not a commoner. She’s an American, and
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) faced criticism for saying that President Donald Trump “slut-shamed” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) with a non-sexual insult, Tuesday. After President Donald Trump made a post on Twitter claiming that Sen. Gillibrand “would do anything” for campaign contributions, Sen. Warren made her own post accusing Trump of “slut-shaming.” “Are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame @SenGillibrand?” asked Sen. Warren in her post. “Do you know who you’re picking a fight with? Good luck with that, @realDonaldTrump. Nevertheless, #shepersisted.” Are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame @SenGillibrand? Do you know who you´re picking a fight with? Good
MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski is still fired up about President Trump’s tweet mocking Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and took her frustrations out on first lady Melania Trump and first daughter Ivanka Trump. “[Trump] should have apologized for being a sexist pig,” Brzezinski said. “And the women around him, his wife, who has a platform against cyber bullying, that’s a joke. That’s the saddest thing I’ve ever seen.” Brzezinski then shifted her attention to Ivanka Trump, “Who came to Washington… to develop a platform for women,” but has stood by her father. “Go home. You’re doing nothing if you stand
Texas Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee took to Twitter on Tuesday night to offer congratulations and her explanation, for why Doug Jones won the Alabama Senate election.Instead, she ended up extending congratulations to someone called “Doug Moore,” while referencing NFL anthem-kneelers: (Tweet) Doug Jones defeated Roy Moore in a shocking, upset victory on Tuesday night, becoming the first Democrat to represent Alabama in the Senate since 1996. Lee has embraced the anthem protest issue in the past, most notably by kneeling on the floor of the House of Representatives.“I kneel in honor of them.
A mountain of evidence points to a single fact: Russia meddled in the U.S. presidential election of 2016. In both classified and public reports, U.S. intelligence agencies have said Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered actions to interfere with the election. Those actions included the cyber-theft of private data, the placement of propaganda against particular candidates, and an overall effort to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process. Members of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, have held open and closed door hearings to probe Russia’s actions. The congressional investigations are ongoing. Facebook, Google and Twitter have investigated their own networks,
The Alabama Supreme Court has reportedly stayed a lower court’s order to election officials that would have required the preservation of voting records in Tuesday’s Senate special election. A circuit judge on Monday ordered election officials to set voting machines to save all digital ballot images, which would preserve voting records in the event of a recount. Alabama´s AL.com said Tuesday morning that the state´s Supreme Court had blocked the order.
A Christian teacher is suing his secondary school after being suspended for referring to a biologically female pupil as a “girl”. Joshua Sutcliffe, 27, from Oxford, argues that he was not trained in the new, quickly evolving, gender politics and should not be forced to accept transgender ideology as a Christian. He says he was investigated and suspended after he said, “well done, girls” to a group of female pupils, including a pupil who “identified” as a boy. The teacher says he apologised immediately after the incident, but documents seen at the time showed that he had also referred to....
