Democratic Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.) gave $20,000 to the legal expense fund of Sen. Robert Menendez (D., N.J.), who is now on trial for corruption charges, records show. Salomon Melgen, the wealthy Florida doctor prosecutors say had a "corrupt pact" with Menendez, and his wife also donated tens of thousands to a prior legal expense trust that was established by Menendez. Booker appeared at the opening day of the corruption trial last week and sat in the first row behind his Democratic colleague. Booker said he expects "some serious appeals" if his mentor is convicted. "He´s innocent until proven guilty. So

After NFL teams or players stayed in the locker room, knelt, sat or linked arms during the national anthem before games Sunday, people want to know what the NFL rules say. Are the players required to stand on the field during the national anthem? What does the NFL rule book say? As they’ve done all weekend, ABC and NBC have been practically apoplectic over President Trump’s comments against the NFL anthem protests Friday and Saturday. After players responded Sunday to Trump’s comments by locking arms or kneeling during the National Anthem, many Americans took to social media to blast the league or their own teams for kneeling, which many see as disrespecting the flag and our country. But ABC didn’t seem to care what regular Americans felt about the protests; instead they invited NFL players, ESPN journalists and celebrities on Monday’s Good Morning America to blast Trump’s comments and defend the

President Donald Trump has called for fans to boycott the NFL if players don´t stop ´disrespecting´ the US by kneeling during the national anthem - as his rant continues to draw backlash from high profile athletes. CARSON, Calif. — It’s time for NFL owners to go beyond issuing statements and to make a statement: bring back quarterback Colin Kaepernick. On Sunday, from an undisclosed location, Kaepernick retweeted on his Twitter account several images of NFL players wearing T-shirts that read #IMWITHKAP. NFL owners need to show they are as well. They finally can dispel theories that Kaepernick has been blackballed for refusing to stand for the national anthem last season, or, fearing a blacklash from fans, that they simply lack the courage to give him another chance.
