Top House Tax Writer Says Overhaul
Framework Coming Week of Sept. 25

Bloomberg Politics, by Erik Wasson, Sahil Kapur

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 9/13/2017 11:53:54 AM

Kevin Brady, the chief House tax writer, told the chamber’s Republicans that White House advisers and congressional leaders working on a tax plan will release a framework the week of Sept. 25. The document will include “core elements of tax reform” agreed on by the so-called Big Six, Brady said Wednesday. (Snip) The other members of the Big Six are House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Senate Finance Chairman Orrin Hatch of Utah, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn.

Comments:
First, we have the "Gang on Eight" in Congress. Now, there is a "Gang of Six´ making our tax reform policies in government. Look at the list of members of Congress and be very afraid of what may be their recommendation. Stay tuned in two weeks and see how it falls apart and is watered down and NOT what President Trump (US) wanted.

Da Nang, Vietnam - Countries in the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) have reached an agreement to push ahead with the trade pact without the United States, by suspending some provisions from the original deal, Vietnamese and Japanese officials said on Saturday. Ministers from the eleven TPP countries met this week on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in the resort city of Danang in Vietnam. The agreement follows days of uncertainty over whether the countries would be able to agree on the terms of the deal, after U.S. President Donald Trump ditched it this year in favor of an

Former Texas State Senator Wendy Davis will soon be portrayed on the big screen by actress Sandra Bullock. The woman who won a Best Actress Oscar for “The Blind Side” in 2010 now plans to highlight the 2013 anti-abortion bill filibuster that made Ms. Davis — and her pink running shoes — a household name. Ms. Bullock will star in “Let Her Speak,” a retelling of the lawmaker’s 11 hours spent trying to stall legislative restrictions on abortions. Variety announced the project on Thursday, which will be produced by Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal through Escape. Ms. Davis used her newfound notoriety after the filibuster to

Scott Brunton had just gone through a bad breakup when actor George Takei offered to take him out on the town. It was the summer of 1981, and Takei, then 44, was well-known for his role as Lt. Hikaru Sulu on Star Trek. The two men knew each other socially. “It was a very hard breakup for me, and he said, ‘Well, let me take you out to dinner and the theater and we will talk,’ said Brunton, who was 23 at the time. “And I thought, ´OK, that would be nice.´” The two men — who hadn’t spent time together one-on-one before — spent the evening out before returning to Takei’s Los Angeles condo for a cocktail, Brunton said.

In May, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson dismissed a lawsuit by the families of the victims of Benghazi against Hillary Clinton. Judge Jackson decided that the families couldn’t sue Hillary either for wrongful death or for defamation. That isn’t too surprising as Jackson is a former Clinton donor who had been appointed by Obama. And a Clinton donor should never have been ruling on a Clinton case. But now Judge Jackson will be presiding over the Paul Manafort case. Presiding over Manafort’s indictment is Judge Deborah A. Robinson. Judge Robinson’s most prominent previous case was the Berger trial.

Beijing - For many Chinese people, it was a slightly excruciating reminder of their own childhoods, that moment when their parents aggressively boast of their accomplishments in front of other people, or, even worse, force them to perform for relatives and members of the older generation. But for 6-year-old Arabella Kushner, the difference was that her performance would be scrutinized by none other than the Chinese president, his wife and a good proportion of the Chinese nation. Germany must allow citizens to select a third gender category on all official documents, a court ruled Wednesday. The ruling found that providing only male or female categories on government documents violated anti-discrimination laws and citizens’ constitutional right to privacy. A law has been in place since 2013 in Germany allowing parents to register newborn babies as neither male nor female if the child is born with characteristics of both genders. However, the new ruling goes further, establishing a deadline of Dec. 31, 2018 for the German federal government to create a new gender category or remove gender entirely

The Vatican announced Thursday that it would no longer sell cigarettes to employees in its duty-free shop and supermarket — giving up an estimated 10 million euros ($11 million) a year in profit. Francis made the decision because “the Holy See cannot contribute to an activity that clearly damages the health of people,” the Vatican said. A statement cited the World Health Organization, which says smoking causes more than 7 million deaths annually around the globe. I am really sorry that John McCain suffers from a brain affliction, but he continues to play an active role in politics, and so I must call him out when he does something really outrageous. Yesterday, Sen. McCain called on Judge Roy Moore to "immediately step aside" after unproven allegations of sexual impropriety were published in a liberal newspaper. No waffling about "if true..." That is a standard Senator McCain did not apply to himself under similar circumstances. During his 2008 presidential bid, the New York Times published a story alleging sexual misconduct with a female lobbyist. McCain fought it.
