Two huge booksellers, Amazon and Walmart, have already cut the price of Hillary Rodham Clinton´s 2016 tell-all by 40 percent -- and it isn´t even available yet. Set to be released Tuesday, both have priced "What Happened?" at $17.99. Publisher Simon and Schuster set a price of $30. Much of what´s in her book has already been reported on, thanks to leaked copies of the Democratic presidential candidate´s latest work. The price cut, however, has likely helped to boost sales. It is No. 1 on Amazon.
The 5 stages of grief and loss are: 1. Denial and isolation; 2. Anger; 3. Bargaining; 4. Depression; 5. Acceptance. People who are grieving do not necessarily go through the stages in the same order or experience all of them. Apparently she is still in phases 1-4. Her book pretty well gives evidence this is where she is at right now. Sadly #5 may never come. She will be the magnificent suffering victim of her self for ever more and denial will reign supreme.
People won´t buy it because ´copies have been leaked´. Bless their hearts they thought ahead and came up with a ready made excuse why the publisher is going to take a bath on this one. A pre-release profitability study may have been wise. But maybe the $3000 per person pricetag to listen to her whine spoliled the story. It was going to be a total shock that she blamed everthing and everybody but herself.
Buy the book? Are kidding, I´m still celebrating her statement that she is done with politics. Why would I buy her book? I can raise my blood pressure in a 1001 other ways at no cost. Now ask me if i would pay for her to leave and that is something to ponder. If she would offer to leave and take her daughter with her never to be heard from against, I´d buy a dozen of her books. Actually, I wouldn´t but don´t tell the smartest woman in the world that. I´ve always wondered about that line, smartest woman in the world, isn´t that a total slam on all women?
Here´s what will happen. Enough books have already been purchased wholesale and in bulk to keep it on the NYT Best Seller list for at least four months. After free copies have been given out to relatives and foreign donors no one else will actually buy the book.
You can find millions of copies polluting the oceans as the book nobody asked to be written and nobody will read, deep-sixed and swimming with the fishes.
Since only 40% look at Hillary favorably, that means 3/5 of the potential market probably wouldn´t consider buying her whining screed to begin with. The leaks show more of the same garbage that didn´t play well in the media when she finally sobered up and came out of the woods. In other words, she has nothing new to offer, which coincidentally was true about her campaign as well and "What Happened" is that the American People saw that truth.
MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell said he was “stunned” by White House chief of staff John Kelly’s remarks about Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson of Florida, suggesting that the former general was a product of a racist upbringing. “They have more in common then John Kelly realizes,” O’Donnell said at the beginning of his show on MSNBC Thursday. “They were both born in segregated cities. They both went to segregated schools.” Wilson went to school during forced, legal segregation in Florida, and Kelly grew up in Boston, where his school was segregated “by custom and practice” during the 1950s, O’Donnell said. “John
For a state so enamored with passing laws, California can seem awfully lawless sometimes. Our progressive Legislature and elected leaders have decided to make political and litigious war on the duly elected president of the United States. The Resistance is here!Truth is, Donald Trump has driven them all a bit batty. Our legislators have become so unmoored that even Gov. Jerry Brown -- who just the other week signed the self-destructive “sanctuary state” law -- had to step in and veto legislation requiring presidential candidates to release their tax returns. Brown said that as politically appealing as such a law
Russian intelligence targeted Hillary Clinton before she became secretary of state in 2009, FBI documents show. New FBI information about corruption in a Clinton-approved uranium deal with Russia raises questions about Clinton’s actions after the FBI broke up a deep-cover Russian spy ring in 2010. For a decade, the FBI ran an operation called Ghost Stories to monitor and rip apart a deep-cover Russian agent network. Ghost Stories tracked a ring Russian spies who lived between Boston and Washington, D.C., under false identities. It was one of the FBI’s most elaborate and successful counterintelligence operations in history. After the FBI arrested
Good work if you can get it, huh? While Hillary Clinton was using her position as then-Secretary of State to coordinate a deal that allowed Russia to take control of 20% of America’s uranium stock, Moscow was paying Bill Clinton a half-million dollars for a one-hour speech. George Walker Bush promised in 2006 to build a barrier to Mexico. He called it "an important step toward immigration reform." But after signing the bill into law on October 26, 2006, but Bush 43 never got around to building it. President Trump is building it.Instead of a secure fence, Trump is building a wall. Bush made a pretty good promise 11 years ago: (Snip)Pretty good talk. Well-written. No misspelled words. Words. That´s all. I get that Bush 43 had a couple of wars going on, and a Congress that was almost as useless as a screen door on a submarine.
I remember Rich Lowry two years ago on the Megyn Kelly show saying, “Last debate, let´s be honest, Carly cut his balls off with the precision of a surgeon and he knows it.” Where is Carly Fiorina today? Where is Donald Trump? Where is Megyn Kelly? We know where Rich Lowry is. Still on TV. Still editing National Review. Still writing freelance pieces. Still getting President Trump wrong. No class of losers is paid better and has more job security than these experts on nothing. Lowry´s latest piece is "The Cognitive Dissonance Presidency." He continues his assumption that President Trump has no training or experience
You know multinational corporate and financial interests, the big club, and the U.S. K-street lobbying community are on their heels when they need to call former President George W. Bush to their defense. Delivering a speech today from the George W Bush institute, which is almost entirely funded by multinational corporations, the former president rises to speak out against nationalism and in defense of global economic interests. Pay attention to the specificity of the wording. President Bush’s professional political speechwriters always construct their verbiage in a series of sound-bite sentences that are assembled individually and then pasted together to create
This certainly doesn’t come as a surprise given the relationship between Ellen Degeneres and the hotel and casino industry. However, the Daily Mail is confirming the parent company of Mandalay Bay, MGM Inc., controlled the one-and-only media appearance during a well scripted presentation of Jesus “Jose” Campos for television yesterday. (Via Daily Mail) Mandalay Bay shooting hero Jesus Campos was pressured into giving his only interview to Ellen DeGeneres because the giant company that owns the Las Vegas casino feared he would spill the beans about the shooting timeline if he was grilled by real journalists, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.
CHICAGO -- It hasn´t been 108 years since the Los Angeles Dodgers have won a World Series, but they are one step closer to erasing their own drought. After knocking out the defending champion Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series with an 11-1 victory at Wrigley Field on Thursday, the Dodgers are back in the World Series for the first time since 1988, when Orel Hershiser and Kirk Gibson led the team to a dramatic upset of the Oakland A´s. This is the Dodgers´ 11th postseason appearance since then, and their stretch of 10 appearances in a row
As workers nearly complete the first prototypes of President Trump’s border wall, next week the Department of Homeland Security will begin testing which designs best deter and prevent illegal immigrants from entering the U.S. U.S. Customs and Border Protection awarded eight contracts to six companies to build the prototypes. Four are made of reinforced concrete, the others involve alternate materials, mostly steel. Each model is 18 to 30 feet high and 30 feet long. Contractors have until Oct. 26 to complete their design before testing begins. All of the construction is taking place a few miles east of San Diego.Testing
A top Senate Republican is calling for the Justice Department to lift an apparent “gag order” on an FBI informant who reportedly helped the U.S. uncover a corruption and bribery scheme by Russian nuclear officials but allegedly was “threatened” by the Obama administration to stay quiet. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, is focusing on the informant amid scrutiny of the 2010 approval of a controversial uranium deal with a Russian company. He’s raising questions about potential “conflicts of interest” for Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration, and especially wants to know whether the committee that approved the deal was
(Video)The Times of Israel reports: Overjoyed at the city’s liberation from the Islamic State, a woman ripped off the black outer garment she had been forced to wear by the extremist group, as US-backed forces took control of Syria’s Raqqa. In a video posted by the People’s Defense Units (YPG) on Saturday, the woman welcomes her Kurdish rescuers, hugging them and thanking them, as well as offering prayers along with her family. All women living under the reign of IS were forced to wear the loose black outer garment, known as an abaya, as part of the terror group’s strict interpretation
Former President George W. Bush offered an unmistakable denunciation of Trumpism Thursday without mentioning the president by name, urging citizens to oppose threats to American democracy. “Bigotry seems emboldened. Our politics seems more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication,” Bush warned in remarks at the Bush Institute’s Spirit of Liberty event in New York. By chance, Bush was standing in the same spot at the Time Warner Center where former President Barack Obama made a similar plea for democracy and American leadership in late September, shortly after President Donald Trump had finished a belligerent, isolationist speech to the United Nations
Former President George W. Bush said Thursday that “bigotry seems emboldened” in the United States, warning that Americans need to reject “white supremacy.” The former president also criticized the “governing class,” but did not specifically mention President Trump, Congress or any other politicians in office. “Discontent deepened and sharpened partisan conflicts” in recent years, Bush said in remarks from New York City at a forum focused on security and sponsored by the George W. Bush Institute.
George W. Bush hinted Thursday at his dissatisfaction with Donald Trump, complaining in a New York City speech that ´bullying and prejudice´ has become a caustic norm in American public life. At an event hosted by the George W. Bush Institute, the 43rd U.S. president rattled off a thinly veiled litany of complaints about the current commander-in-chief, focusing on both his tone and his isolationist policy choices. ´Our young people need positive role models,´ he said. ´Bullying and prejudice in our public life sets a national tone, provides permission for cruelty and bigotry, and compromises the moral education of children.´
Democratic Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson is laughing and bragging after White House chief of staff John Kelly said he was “stunned” Thursday that Wilson criticized President Donald Trump’s call to the widow of a dead soldier. “You mean to tell me that I’ve become so important…that the White House is following me and my words? This is amazing. That’s amazing. That is absolutely phenomenal. I’ll have to tell my kids that I’m a rock star now,” Wilson told Miami Fox affiliate WSVN-TV, while laughing. (Snip) The congresswoman also bizarrely said, “The dog can bark at the moon all night long but
Damning new evidence appears to show that Hillary Clinton used her office as Secretary of State to confer benefits to Russia in exchange for millions of dollars in donations to her foundation and cash to her husband. But there’s more. It seems it was all covered up for years by the same three people who are now involved in the investigation of President Donald Trump over so-called Russian “collusion.” (Snip) What’s more, Holder was a member of the “Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States” which approved the uranium sale to the Russians in 2010.
A Massachusetts elementary school has canceled its Halloween events and is celebrating ´black and orange spirit day´ instead. Boyden Elementary School´s principal sent a letter to parents this week saying that it had decided to cancel its traditional Halloween parade on October 31 because it was ´not inclusive of all students´ and was ´difficult´ for many. Without specifying which students the parade excluded, Principal Brendan Dearborn said the school would instead hold a ´black and orange spirit day´. Children are allowed to dress in those colors but cannot come to school in costume. They are however allowed to wear costumes to an
Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News senior judicial analyst, weighed in on the report, telling FOX Business’ Stuart Varney on “Varney & Co.,” “The significance is an FBI acknowledgement that Huma Abedin, Mrs. Anthony Weiner, when she had a top security clearance as the number two assistant to Hillary Clinton when Hillary was Secretary of State, regularly sent copies of sensitive material to her own laptop so she could look at it at night, either knowing or forgetting that her husband had access to it as well.” Napolitano said this gives insight into the State Department’s casual approach to top secret
WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Tom Homan confirmed on Thursday that a man arrested in connection with setting a fire in Sonoma County Wine Country is an illegal alien from Mexico who has been twice returned to his “home country.” Homan also confirmed that ICE has issued detainer requests for Jesus Fabian Gonzalez five times now in the past year alone, including the one issued on October 16 in relation to his most recent arrest on suspicion of arson. All of the arrests were made “by Sonoma County on various felony and misdemeanor charges,” according
For fark’s sake. The guy’s accused of rape, by more than one woman. What sort of behavior does she think “invited” that? Even his somewhat less egregious offenses are inexplicable in terms of an invitation. Does anyone think Lauren Sivan put out the vibe upon meeting famous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein that she was hoping to watch him furtively whack it into a potted plant in a dark corner of an empty restaurant kitchen? The more aggressive harassment is, the harder it is to explain in terms of a misconstrued female “invitation.” Actual assault is plainly indefensible, yet here’s Eddie
WASHINGTON — A young Barack Obama questioned his place in the world and his racial identity, agonized over whether he´d make enough money as a community organizer, and lamented his incompatibility with his ex-girlfriend in 30 pages of letters he wrote to her that are now being archived by Emory University in Atlanta. (Snip) "My ideas aren´t as crystallized as they were while in school, but they have an immediacy and weight that may be more useful if and when I´m less observer and more participant," Obama wrote in 1984 to McNear, who was a student at a California college
The two most recent presidents on Thursday blasted the state of US politics in events that were separated by less than 20 miles. First, it was former President George W. Bush. The most recent former Republican president lambasted a political culture that caused "bigotry" to seem "emboldened." The public comments were Bush´s most pointed since President Donald Trump took office in January. "In recent decades, public confidence in our institutions has declined," the 43rd president said at an event in New York hosted by his namesake institute. "Our governing class has often been paralyzed
Hey, mainstream media! We finally found it — a real Russia scandal involving the 2016 election. With actual evidence of criminal wrongdoing and everything! So come on, New York Times, CNN and MSNBC, let’s ... Hey, where’d everybody go? For months I’ve been doing TV hits as the token conservative and getting grilled over “Russiagate.” Did Donald Trump and the Russians collude to steal the election from Hillary Clinton? And for months I’ve been asking the same questions: Where is the evidence of an actual crime? And since “collusion” isn’t necessarily against the law, what actual crime are Democrats and their media
