Former presidential candidate and current Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich may be moving closer to mounting a primary challenge against President Trump in the 2020 election. Sources close to Kasich told Willie Geist of the "Today Show" there is growing a sense of "moral imperative" to run against Trump for the Republican nomination in 2020 following his controversial statements on the deadly protest in Charlottesville, Va. (Tweet) Kasich has long been critical of Trump. On Tuesday, Kasich criticized Trump´s Charlottesville comments, saying "there is no moral equivalency to Nazi sympathizers" following Trump´s tumultuous press conference. Kasich will do anything to try to remain relevant. Unless you are Al Gore and the Chicken Little crowd 2020 is a long way away. No one will remember who the guy is by then.

Moral imperative my foot. These self-serving ambitious hypocrites can go jump in a lake. btw, Mitt Romney is revolting. I never liked Romney, but I totally supported him in 2012 because I didn´t think he was a bad guy (and he wasn´t Obama). Now I think Romney and anyone else who doesn´t support Mr. Trump is a very bad guy.

I wouldn´t be so cavalier about an anti-Trump primary from somebody. It´s easy to underestimate how much the anti-Hillary vote helped elect Trump. A divided Republican Party would play into the hands of the next Democrat candidate (assuming they ever get their act together).

If Kasich manages the impossible in 2020 and becomes the nominee, we´ll have President Warren or President Clinton controlling every aspect of our lives.

Multiple NASCAR team owners indicated Sunday they will not tolerate drivers or crew members who kneel during the national anthem as unpatriotic protests plague the beleaguered National Football League. Colin Kaepernick and Roger Goodell hate Donald Trump. Whose side are you on? One of the differences between political and gridiron strategy involves picking one’s opponents. In the latter, the schedule dictates; in the former, guile does. The president manipulated some of the most hated people in America to hate him. He chose his enemies wisely. They unwisely fell into his trap. Maybe next time, Trump should call out Skelator, Cobra Commander, or Moriarty. Alas, one judges those villains not dumb enough to get all of their sinister friends to publicly denounce their denouncer the way Kaepernick and Goodell did.

N.F.L. players and owners, already on edge after critical statements made by President Trump at a rally on Friday night, woke up on game day to another series of tweets from the president, this time calling for football fans to boycott N.F.L. games unless the league fires or suspends players who refuse to stand for the national anthem. Karl Rove, a former senior adviser to President George W. Bush, ripped into President Donald Trump on Sunday for wasting his platform and his time attacking NFL players protesting by kneeling during the national anthem. “The president has two very valuable assets: his time and his voice. This president wastes it when he engages with things like this,” Rove said Sunday during a Fox News panel discussion on Trump´s recent controversial attacks of NFL players who protest for civil rights by taking a knee during the national anthem. Rove added that the president often spends time he ought to be

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell snapped back at “divisive” comments about the league Saturday, hours after President Trump urged team owners to fire players who won’t stand for the national anthem. At a political rally Friday night in Alabama, Trump griped that players who kneel for “The Star Spangled Banner” disrespect the flag and should lose their jobs. (Snip) Goodell issued a statement via Twitter at 9:16 a.m. Saturday: “Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs

As more and more leaks about the ongoing “Russian collusion” witch hunt by Robert Mueller appear in print, it seems to me that if Russia had been trying to erode our faith in our institutions, the Deep State is accomplishing what Russia failed to do. The Obama claque’s efforts were initially intended to help Clinton when they thought she would win and no one would know about their crimes. Then they continued the unlawful spying to cover up their role in the worst case of misuse of federal power in our history, to effect the removal or emasculation of the President,

The recent behavior of a number of spoiled, privileged, ungrateful NFL players is unacceptable to most Americans, NFL fans or not. (snip) It would be so satisfying if a group of patriotic fans to have at the ready a flash mob of singers at a stadium game. If the players "take a knee" to show their disdain for the flag and the national anthem, these talented souls would wait until just before the kick-off and then stand up and belt out the national anthem themselves. Chances are hundreds of those in attendance would join them. Then they would exit the

Giants owners John Mara and Steve Tisch had a harsh reaction to President Trump’s called for NFL owners to fire players who refuse to stand for the national anthem. “Comments like we heard last night from the president are inappropriate, offensive and divisive,” Mara and Tisch said in a statement Saturday. “We are proud of our players, the vast majority of whom use their NFL platform to make a positive difference in our society.” Trump initially addressed the issue during a campaign rally speech in Alabama for Senator Luther Strange, asserting that owners should fire “any son of a b—h”
