The startling reality facing America in
wake of Virginia white power rally

New York Post, by Michael Goodwin

President Trump should have left well enough alone. His Monday denunciation of costumed sheet-wearers and Nazi wanna-bes could have cleared the way for Americans of all stripes to focus their outrage on things that matter more than presidential words. That would be the violence that is infecting our politics and the frightening acceptance of it as the new normal. But Trump’s defiance yesterday is sure to keep the media pot boiling over his rhetoric instead of an ominous reality. Namely, that real protestors don’t carry baseball bats, crowbars and mace. Yet Saturday’s bloody clash in Charlottesville showed that many on

Pulling out of the ludicrous Paris Accords was a landmark - no more would the USA bow before the false gods of "climate change". It was a bold and brave move few, if any, in the GOP would have dared. Yesterday´s dramatic encounter with the Enemedia was also a landmark - no more would the USA bow before the false narrative of "the Right is racist". It was a bold and brave move no one else in the GOP would ever have dared.

Anyone remember that the liberal ACLU went to court and DEFENDED free speech rights of the REAL nazis in Skokie Illinois back in the late 1970´s?

Now it seems that if you aren´t a lib democrat socialist, you are a nazi just because Hitlery lost.

The rapidity of this taking hold in the media and being put on the entire country at large shows a great deal of coordination as if planned and ready for the media to just "open the box".

When will there be an effort to remove Lenin´s stature in Seattle if they want to protest someone who killed others for their beliefs?

Who is behind this sudden ´emergency´ to rip Southerners?

To the left, we must protect "free speech" even when it is repugnant like when tax dollars were spent supporting an artist who put a crucifix in a jar of urine and called it "art".

The ´startling reality´ is that American is being pulled around by the nose by a FAKE media frenzy into something that is being blown up way beyond a march that was held and that conservatives are somehow klnansmen and nazis....

This entire thing was a false flag. The permit for the Alt-Right rally was obtained by a big 0bama supporter and part of the Occupy Wall Street movement. It was meant to provoke exactly what happened, and the chaos was part of the plan.

When do we get to start calling BLM a "black supremacy group"? For that is exactly what they are. Just ask those who were attacked for saying, "All lives matter". Or ask the white or Asian students at Evergreen State. Or ask Mad Maxine who wants a black political party. Or ask 0bama, who started all of this way back during the 2008 campaign when he defended his racist Rev. Wright and referred to his grandmother as a "typical white person".

When do we get to start referring to Antifa and similar groups as "Communist supremacy groups"?

All great comments above. What the msm didn´t talk about was the nine murders in Chicago last weekend and the dozen others shot. But one murder by a neo-nazi and the msm has a hissy fit. Just demonstrates the msm doesn´t care about blacks being murdered in Chicago but is more interested in a murder that they can use politically against President Trump. See the msm can´t link the nine murders in Chicago to President Trump so they just ignore that story. The msm proves once again they are enemy #1 of WTP and our Constitutional Republic!

The fascist media cannot believe that this President dares to defy them. What we witnessed yesterday was indeed an act of valor on the President´s part and for that, he will never be forgiven. He exposed the media for what they are, the fascist propaganda arm of the political elite. He has received every ounce of their dripping scorn, unhinged wrath and raw disrespect they can hurl. Reasonable Americans, however, are cheering him for calling them out. We either support the one guy willing to speak the truth or we will be forced to live in a country where truth is shaped by anti-American zealots.

The first paragraph has the same illogical thinking I hear all the time from people trying to be "moderate". The argument goes like this:"If Trump wasn´t so unorthodox and always the center of attention then the news media would focus on the important issues of the day in an intelligent and unbiased way." Maybe if the news media were responsible and concerned for the welfare of the country they would do that, but they haven´t shown those virtues in at least 20 years.

It´s a shame because everything after the first paragraph was excellent.

I don´t know about everyone else, but I´m really tired of talking about this whole event. Lets move on. I´m sure there will be another huge infraction by the President before this week is over. The Press and the Democrats are lurking around every corner just waiting with baited breath for him to step off the curb with the wrong foot! I agree with above posters who say, there are other things happening in the world much more news worthy!

The President stood tall and did well yesterday. The msm was again disgusting. When I was at the gym this morning, glanced at a TV with CNN. The CNN reporters on the set sit there with this sneering scowl on their mugs. I wonder if the suicide rate among msm reporters is going up.

As for the violence, it wont stop and will get much worse. Such is life in a dying nation. Sorry for the bad view.

I´m not tired talking about this because after listening to Paul Ryan this morning, I have a lot more to say.

This whole issue is the equivalent of a bad divorce. The ones that suffer the most are the kids because the divorcing parents can´t be mature about their split. They become immature when they expect everyone around them to take their side. Especially the kids.

The same thing is happening here. We have two sides that play identity politics and they expect the President to take their side. We had eight years of identity politics and because the Republicans couldn´t stand up for themselves, President Donald Trump should cave to the identity politics.

In fact, he should be neutral and his comments were fitting for the situation on Saturday. He abhors all of this immaturity.

We are watching the equivalent of ISIS blowing up Jonah´s tomb, the Taliban destroying the statues of Buddha and Nazi book burning. Yet the national "Stockholm Syndrome" prevents the useless and spineless republican pols from calling it what it is. Trump is indeed the only thing protecting the Constitution at this point.

Funny thing, but if the liberal media had been respectful, rather then acting like the disrespectful howling a-holes that they are, President Trump would have answered a lot more of their questions. Clearly the media is in shock that the President tells it like he sees it, as the media is not used to that from the people who hold high office in DC., who usually talk to the smurfs through the partisan slanted media filter.

FTA: One result of the politicization of policing is the soaring murder rates in many cities, especially Chicago, where mayor Rahm Emanuel accused cops of going into a “fetal” position.

Hey, Rahm, those cops work for you, don´t they? So what role do you play in that and in your city´s absurd murder rate?

Goodwin kicks the can down the street. So we should all do exactly what? Hope the Left goes home and leaves us alone?

I, too, believe that a community can vote --- after proper public discussion of both sides --- to take down a statue or re-name a school or street. But the statue should be preserved & not be destroyed and maybe in 10 years they will vote to put it back!

What is going on here is an attempt to destroy what many feel is part of our culture. That can´t happen, as that is what breaks the society apart. Oddly enough you now have this Yankee rooting for the South to be respected. Tearing down REL or SWJ statues is appalling.

Sadly, there will be more fighting until the real troublemakers get arrested. Start with Soros being charged with inciting a riot!

I haven´t watched or heard news for over a week (camping in the mountains) and came home to this. I lived through the 60s and witnessed the same thing just different names and issues.
The people I saw were all useful idiots. If this is bought and paid for to obtain chaos it looked fake to me. Let the roaches fight with bats, mace, sticks and stones and injure each other if they aren´t damaging property let them have at it. I don´t care it´s like a self cleaning oven and these people have nothing to do with their time except this?
Donald Trump is right and the media is shocked at his response? It looks like I´m now a white racist Nazi in my lexicon of not caring.

Someone - maybe the new communications director - needs to issue guidance to the press about ALL future press conferences, even daily news briefings:

1. Act like humans instead of animals.
2. Sit quietly and raise your hand, then wait until you are called upon.
3. Anyone shouting should be immediately evicted from the press conference.
4. Stand, state your name and organization, and ask ONE question.
5. Respect, respect, respect!
6. If you don´t like these rules turn in your press pass.

Their current behavior, or lack thereof, is a disgrace to the already disgraceful press. It is time they acted like professionals.

The Left has used ridicule, right out of "Rules For Radicals" to force their positions down our throats. We can´t even call that what it is but defer to the prefered term, political correctness.

The push back from the non-left initially came in the form of the Tea Party. The Left ratcheted up their game with a media campaign of epic proportions. While the OWS crowd beat each other up raped each other and trashed everything in sight, the Tea Party didn´t allow a gum wrapper to fall to the ground. The propoganda machine painted the TP as violent extremists. They also unleashed the power of the IRS against the TP.

The next push back has come in the form of electing Trump. Again the left has upped their game with greater use of violence since ridicule didn´t make us go away. They will stop at nothing.

The current policy of not allowing the police or the to NG get involved in this anarchy is one of the main reasons that we fight to keep the Second Amendment intact as-is. They are essentially saying that protection of the people who pay them is not worth the risk. So be it.

"Have our divisions become so deep that the only way to settle them is with another Civil War?"

One would hope not but if these goons decide to leave their safe liberal habitats and start causing mayhem out here in bush and flyover country, they will be met with more than baseball bats. Real American patriots don´t play around with snowflakes and other rabble.

Trump had to speak up.

The left has created a narrative: Everyone on the right is a bunch of violent racists. No mention of the left.

The left has their violent racists too. No mention of how the left is trying to rewrite history or current events. This has been going on for quite some time. Look at our educational institutions. Look at our media.

They want a leftist nation. One without God. A fractured nation. Why? Because the left hates what the United States really represents: One nation made up of many peoples, all under God. They want a nation where they can enrich themselves and exalt themselves. All at the expense of everyone else. They want to be God.

As Trump said, where will it end? And as Laura Ingraham said last night, some of these individuals will literally never be satisfied. The violence--on all sides--has to be condemned. Claiming that one side has superior motives is unsupportable. Some surely do, but you cannot enter the human heart. Some have ulterior motives. It´s fair to say that using republican congressmen for target practice is also evil. That´s all that the president is saying. He is being pilloried by the press because he does not mindlessly parrot the party line, the way that they do.

The new reality is that the US left has gone more violently insane than we ever feared. Quite a lot of them seem to lust for a blood soaked revolution, with no concern what kind of regime could result. Something more like the Thirty Years War than the Civil War. They´d have us all at each others throats in every corner of the nation. It´s terrifying.

Goodwin is naive. Think how the left expected it August 15 to be: a ring of fire around Guam, white power torchlight processions and violence in Charlottesville, and the stock market tumbling due to absence of Merck CEO on White House Council. Did not work that way. But I think it was meant to: The distractions are put there for a reason and what Trump is doing is correct, which is deal with them on their merits one by one.

Excellent observations by posters, and I believe that the majority of Ldotters do represent a large swath of the American people. If we see the set-up than our fellow patriots across the country also see it. The obvious myopia of the media was on stunning display for all to witness. They have lost control of the narrative.

President Trump gave a master maestro’s performance yesterday showing complete control over the symphonic cacophony playing before him. It immediately ceased when he simply put his hand out in the “stop” position. He handled every interruption in the same manner. Consistency in discipline is the only way to handle unruly children. Once he had their attention, limited as he knew it would be, he hit them hard with the facts they have been hiding from the public. He challenged them to define the words they make up. He defended his thinking and actions with logic and reason, and was met with ever increasing irrational incredulity. He is using the system to bring down the system.

#34 gives a good description of the events the Left hoped for on August 15th, and their disappointment that none of them happened. Perhaps it could be attributed to the coincidence that August 15th is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. It is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics to attend Mass. I believe many prayers were offered yesterday for President Trump. Many may not know, but Our Blessed Mother is the patroness of the United States of America and our country is under her mantle of protection.

MAGA – It is for the soul of America.

The Left saw itself in the mirror of President Trump’s words yesterday and refuses to accept the reality that their ideology, behavior, irrationality, akin to Nazism and white supremacists, has been exposed and are in denial, throwing a temper tantrum. The tenor of the President’s interaction brought to mind Jesus scolding the Pharisees calling them a brood of vipers, pointing out that the words an individual speaks is like fruit—good or bad: “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew12:34-37) Dishonest/distorted reporting deserves reprimand. EVERYONE is accountable for words that come from their hearts; they prove either righteous or guilty.

With all of these people at each´s throats for what ever, there is going to be a civil war in the not too far time. But, it is going to be mostly on the east and west coasts where the large cities are located. And most of them are run by Dim mayors and others. Add Chicago into that mess. In most of the rest of the country, the citizens there take the perspective that those people aren´t bothering me so I don´t want to get in the mess. There are just too many that take that point of view UNTIL it does start getting into their lives visa a visa what the federal government does. And if that should happen, the civil war will spill over the entire country. And GOD is the only one that will know what the outcome of that is going to be.

#7, we should also point out that the media is yapping 24/7 about the murder of a white woman and ignoring the murders of dozens of blacks in demonrat cities across the nation that occurred on Saturday afternoon.

This whole saga has just hit my home. I hung up on my twenty-something daughter this morning when she said that she would have been right in there with the Antifa thugs hurling bags of excrement. I couldn´t make her see that that behavior was just as violent and hate-filled as anything coming from the other side. I don´t think that I´ve ever been as disappointed in her as I am at this moment.

She gets her news from social media and I tried to point out that anyone can post anything on twitter and she should take most of it with a grain of salt. I´m hoping that, when the truth finally comes out, she will see the error of her ways. The same thing happened during the Michael Brown fiasco - she sided with the Hands Up Don´t Shoot liars until the truth could not be ignored.

Worst part - she voted for Trump and she should know better.

The whole thing was a put up job arranged to force all spectators to take a side : either the White Supremacist Nazis or the Antifa Communists disguised as mild mannered defenders of all things good. You´re being railroaded America. The idea was to have it end up with America full of the warm fuzzies for the defenders of the downtrodden and hating Trump. Hopefully people will see through it.

Perhaps $0r0$ organizers could only hire white ex-cons on such short notice, or the darkies were smarter than to tussle with armed white dudes??

Ironically, there were also NO shots fired from those weapons they were carrying!

On Tuesday evening, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel spoke from the heart once again about Obamacare. Citing his baby son’s experience with open heart surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), Kimmel tore into Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), who appeared on Kimmel’s show months ago and vowed not to flunk the “Jimmy Kimmel test.” What was the Kimmel test? According to Cassidy: “Would the child born with a congenital heart disease be able to get everything she or he would need in that first year of life…even if they go over a certain amount?” Cassidy insists that the new bill he’s pushing

Increasingly it seems the Russiagate saga ends for Trump in one of two ways. One: It turns out he’s crooked and hired Paul Manafort and Mike Flynn for the express purpose of carrying out his crooked designs. Two, the more likely and more tragic alternative: He had no crooked designs but lacked the rudimentary good sense not to hire two guys whom he had every reason to know would bring him nothing but trouble. Odds seem fair right now that the president’s former campaign manager and former national security advisor will both end up being indicted by the prosecutor in

Hillary Clinton’s campaign memoir rests on an astonishingly audacious lie: that the very FBI director who made her campaign possible by improperly sparing her from an indictment doomed it. A normal pol who had mishandled classified information as egregiously as Hillary would have felt eternal gratitude to Comey. Only an entitled ingrate like Hillary would have the gall to cast her savior as the chief thorn in her side. Nor does Hillary acknowledge another in-kind contribution to her campaign from Comey: his willingness to serve as a cog in Obama’s campaign of political espionage against Trump. Obama’s team of Hillary partisans,

To understand the pragmatic realities of federal governance in the 21st century, one must recognize the existence of a fourth branch of government: the administrative state. We have some two million federal bureaucrats with extraconstitutional legislative powers. Not only do they write the reams of regulations that order our lives, they have the authority to enforce them capriciously. And thanks to absurd civil service protections, it is exceedingly difficult to hold them accountable for abuses of power, even when Congress demands it. Of course, you can’t censure federal bureaucrats for their crimes if you don’t even try. On September 8, Donald

Over the years, a curious habit has taken hold at the United Nations. A body designed to strengthen the best of humanity has too often become a font of doublespeak and appeasement that protects the worst of humanity. That tragic comity was shattered when President Trump played the skunk at the garden party and dared to tell the truth. Many truths, in fact. Among them, that Islamic terrorism is a scourge that must be stopped. That Iran is controlled by a “murderous regime” bent on getting nukes. What with all of the other rioting going on all over the country, you’re to be forgiven if you missed the latest mayhem breaking out around Georgia Tech this week. (Snip)The call that led Georgia Tech campus police to respond to a man reportedly wielding a knife was made by the student who was later shot and killed by officers, police investigators said Monday night. That student, Scout Schultz, left three suicide notes behind in a dormitory room, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The developments added further layers of complexity to the death of Schultz, a 21-year-old who

Former Chicago police Sgt. Eddie C. Hicks was arrested in Detroit Tuesday morning, nearly 15 years after he fled on the eve of trial on federal drug conspiracy charges. Hicks, 68, has been the subject of an international manhunt since 2003, according to the FBI. He appeared in federal court in Detroit on Tuesday and was ordered held until he can be brought to Chicago to face the charges. A 29-year veteran of the police force, Hicks was charged in Chicago in 2001 with running a crew of rogue officers who robbed drug dealers, pocketed the illicit cash and sold the stolen

The uncorroborated dossier of opposition research about Donald Trump has become a key document in the investigation over whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government during the presidential campaign last year. Democrats have insisted that many claims made in the dossier, written by former British spy Christopher Steele, have been proven accurate. Republican lawmakers say otherwise, leading to a standoff between the two sides over the 35-page document, published by BuzzFeed News on Jan. 10. Here is what we know about the salacious document. Jan. 2010: Steele’s London-based intelligence firm,

The seven-acre gated community on the Caribbean Sea also boasts the top-rated golf course in the Dominican Republic, six international restaurants, a security staff of 800, and access to elite sports like pheasant shooting, Andres Pichardo Rosenberg, the resort’s president, told a Newark federal jury. “We import the eggs and cultivate them,” Rosenberg explained when the judge asked, somewhat incredulously, if

What does it mean to be a member of the Democratic Party? What do Democrats believe in 2017? I have no idea. Do you? Republicans, for good or ill, know what they stand for: on economic issues, an interminable litany of libertarian lite clichés; in foreign affairs, recklessness and posturing adventurism; on the so-called social issues, a holding pattern in which something is opposed half-heartedly until it´s inexorable. What about Democrats? They are not, as Dana Milbank recently suggested, "socialists." No one in the party is clamoring for the nationalization of industries. The prime minister of Dominica, a Caribbean island, posted online that Hurricane Maria devastated the island, sweeping away the roofs ‘of almost every’ resident he contacted—including his own. “I am at the complete mercy of the hurricane,” Roosevelt Skerrit said. “House is flooding.” He later posted that he was rescued. The category 4 hurricane is starting a charge into the eastern Caribbean that threatens islands already devastated by Hurricane Irma and holds the possibility of a direct hit on Puerto Rico. Officials in Guadeloupe said the French island near Dominica probably would experience heavy flooding and warned that many communities could be submerged.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller´s team is reaching back more than a decade in its investigation of Paul Manafort, a sign of the pressure Mueller is placing on President Donald Trump´s former campaign chairman. The FBI´s warrant for a July search of Manafort´s Alexandria, Virginia, home said the investigation centered on possible crimes committed as far back as January 2006, according to a source briefed on the investigation. The numerologist claims the dates of recent events like the Great American Solar Eclipse and Hurricane Harvey’s flooding of Texas were all marked in the Bible.

In Federalist No. 68, his pseudonymous essay on “The Mode of Electing the President,” Alexander Hamilton wrote that the Electoral College could shield the United States “from the desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils.” (Snip) Hamilton and his colleagues never could have envisioned a year like 2016, when an enemy state—Russia—was able to manipulate America’s election process with stunning effectiveness. Brown, an outspoken Trump critic, issued an usually harsh derision of Trump supporters after dismissing the president’s rhetoric on climate change science and U.S. policy toward North Korea as “stupid and dangerous and silly.” “They’re both kind of very similar,” Brown said. “You should check out the derivation of ‘Trump-ite’ and ‘troglodyte,’ because they both refer to people who dwell in deep, dark caves.” Brown attended the climate event, which coincided with the U.N. meeting in New York,
