Cute cats, cat wine and cat-print

paradise that is CatCon 2017

CatCon is a national convention for cat-lovers. It also unofficially serves as a way to convince any of your dog-loving friends that they need to get a cat ASAP. This year, the convention brought cat ear-sporting feline lovers to Pasadena, California. The convention had everything from cat-print dresses to cat wine to cat-inspired art. And it also had Nala, Coffee and Luna—arguably the cutest cats you will ever meet. We sat down with their parents for a sit-down interview. You can watch that above and appreciate these pictures from CatCon 2017 below.

My neighbor´s cat just stopped by at 11PM for his nitely handout. Four nights in a row. He parks himself on my kitchen windowsill. When I see him, he jumps down and runs over to the side door, and I let him in. I make a fuss over him for a minute, get the bag of cat food, and put a handful out on the side porch. We have a routine.

Cats are fun. :-)

Princess Fluffy Butt is currently sprawled on "her" corner of my bed, apparently satisfied that her human is safely tucked in bed. She waits until i come into my bedroom to come on to the bed, gives me heck for keeping her up so late, takes an extensive bath and then plops on the corner of the bed. This is the nightly ritual. Like setting the alarm clock or taking vitamins.

Cats ARE fun, especially when they are goofy like mine is!!

Washington - A desperate search was underway Wednesday for five crew members who were aboard an Army helicopter that suddenly went down off of Hawaii. The downed UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was on a training mission with another helicopter when it was reported missing at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, about two miles from Kaena Point, which is the westernmost tip of the island of Oahu, the U.S. Army said in a statement. A "debris field" was spotted some two hours later, but there was no sign of the crew members, the U.S. Coast Guard reported. The two helicopters are from the 25th Infantry Division's Combat Aviation

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has signed a landmark bill to provide free abortions for all, including illegal immigrants, by requiring insurance companies to cover the procedures and putting taxpayers on the hook for the tab. Tuesday’s long-awaited signing of House Bill 3391, approved by the State Legislature July 5 with no Republican votes, triggered a torrent of criticism from conservatives along with praise from the pro-choice movement. “Thank Kate Brown for signing the nation’s most progressive reproductive health bill into law today!” NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon said in a statement.

The Trump administration confirmed Wednesday it will make critical Obamacare payments to insurers for August — one day after congressional scorekeepers outlined the risks of cutting off the contested reimbursements over the long haul. The decision will allow insurers to breathe easy in the coming weeks but do little to calm their demands for a permanent commitment to the “cost-sharing reductions,” which reimburse plans for picking up low-income customers’s costs on the Affordable Care Act’s web-based exchanges. President Trump has suggested he would suspend the payments to speed Obamacare’s demise,

The 40th anniversary of the launch of two of NASA’s most remarkable spacecraft is fast approaching. The Voyager 2 mission launched into space on August 20, 1977, followed by Voyager 1 on September 5, 1977. And since their departure from Earth, both spacecraft have accumulated various accolades. Voyager 1 is the first spacecraft to enter interstellar space—the region outside the heliosphere, a giant electromagnetic bubble created by the sun—and is the most distant human-made object ever. And Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to fly by all four planets of the outer solar system: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Donald Trump said he’s disbanding two advisory groups of American business leaders, after CEOs quit this week as the president faced blowback for failing to sufficiently condemn white supremacists. Trump made the announcement on Twitter, less than an hour after one of the groups was said to be planning to inform the White House that it would break up. “Rather than putting pressure on the business people of the Manufacturing Council & Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!” Trump said on Twitter. His remarks were a reversal of what he said a day before, when he tweeted that he had plenty of CEOs who

President Donald Trump on Wednesday praised North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for supposedly backing down off his threats to bomb the Pacific U.S. territory of Guam. Tensions between the U.S. and North Korea have escalated over the past few weeks and until now, Trump’s tough rhetoric and warnings only increased. “Kim Jong Un of North Korea made a very wise and well reasoned decision. The alternative would have been both catastrophic and unacceptable!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning, the day after North Korea’s state media said Pyongyang delayed a plan to fire missiles toward Guam.

President Trump’s new campaign trip to Arizona next week has state Republicans speculating that he is going to endorse a primary challenger to Sen. Jeff Flake. Mr. Trump is leaning towards endorsing Arizona Treasurer Jeff DeWitt, state Republican sources told The Washington Times, in a move that could help crystalize the race. Mr. DeWitt, who was chairman of the Mr. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign in Arizona, has been eyeing the race but has not yet announced his candidacy. The White House announced the Aug. 22 rally on Wednesday, and it comes at a time when Arizona has emerged as a key test for the GOP,

It is an echo of the attack that hit the Westminster Parliament and caused similarly lengthy problems for London MPs. Though that hasn´t worked, people are getting locked out of their accounts as a security procedure. Systems have not yet been breached, authorities have announced. President Trump should have left well enough alone. His Monday denunciation of costumed sheet-wearers and Nazi wanna-bes could have cleared the way for Americans of all stripes to focus their outrage on things that matter more than presidential words. That would be the violence that is infecting our politics and the frightening acceptance of it as the new normal. But Trump’s defiance yesterday is sure to keep the media pot boiling over his rhetoric instead of an ominous reality. Namely, that real protestors don’t carry baseball bats, crowbars and mace.
