Trump signs vets bill to keep
veterans choice program afloat

Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

Original Article

President Trump on Saturday signed a bill that will pump funds into the Veterans choice program to keep it up and running, while Washington continues to fight over how best to give veterans the care they earned — but which the government has sometimes failed to deliver. Approved in the wake of the wait-list scandal that saw hundreds of veterans die while stuck on secret wait lists, the choice program allows those caught in backlogs to seek care at from a private clinic or doctor and bill the costs back to the Veterans Affairs Department. Mr. Trump signed the new legislation while on a working vacation at his golf club in New Jersey.

This is excellent news. I hope that the word can get out for all of US Vets. I may try to go to a hopital to get a complete checkup. My experience has been good here within the Dallas area, but a lingering sudden fatigue problem that hit this jogger some years back has not been addressed.

This is great! I´m a Vietnam vet and I´m in the VA healthcare system and have used the Choice program. If they can not get you into a VA clinic for whatever treatment you need which your doctor has ordered, within 30 days, then they make an appointment for you with a provider that can take you in under 30 days. Works great so far! Thank you!

Sidney, Australia - The names of a handful of mountains and creeks in the state of Queensland containing racial slurs have been removed from the state’s official records, the latest such move in a country still reckoning with its colonial past. The Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines said in a statement on Tuesday that, because of “community concern,” the name of a mountain containing a racial epithet was removed from its records in May. The department, which administers the naming of places, then began a review of its database and found nine others that used “a similarly offensive term,”

Jerusalem cannot be expected to sit idly by as Iran entrenches itself in Syria and Lebanon and declares with Hezbollah that they are planning a two-front war against Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday. “Iran is busy turning Syria into a base of military entrenchment and it wants to use Syria and Lebanon as war fronts [in] its declared goal to eradicate Israel,” Netanyahu said before his meeting in Jerusalem with Guterres. “It is also building sites to produce precision- guided missiles toward that end in both Syria and in Lebanon. President Donald Trump, a day away from visiting Texas, sent thumbs-up to state residents for their courageous battling of Hurricane Harvey — for true American “spirit” in the face of adversity. Via Twitter, Trumpwrote: “HISTORIC rainfall in Houston, and all over Texas. Floods are unprecedented and more rain coming. Spirit of the people is incredible. Thanks!” And this, another tweet: “Major rescue operations underway!” He praised the coordination of federal, state and local agencies. He tweeted: “Great coordination between agencies at all levels of government. Continuing rains and flash floods are being dealt with.

How to Get Out of the Iran Nuclear Deal

Although candidate Donald Trump repeatedly criticized Barack Obama’s Iran nuclear agreement, his administration has twice decided to remain in the deal. It so certified to Congress, most recently in July, as required by law. Before the second certification, Trump asked repeatedly for alternatives to acquiescing yet again in a policy he clearly abhorred. But no such options were forthcoming, despite “a sharp series of exchanges” between the president and his advisers, as the New York Times and similar press reports characterized it. Many outside the administration wondered how this was possible: Was Trump in control,

Have you ever looked at your friends snogging strangers on nights out and thought you just couldn’t do that? If so, you may be demisexual. Demisexuals only fancy someone once they’ve got to know them - they need to feel a strong emotional connection to feel sexual attraction. It’s unclear what proportion of the population identifies as demisexual, but as demisexuality comes under asexuality, which makes up one per cent of people, we can assume the figure is small. The term first came to light in 2008 on the website of the Asexual Visibility and Education Network, but it’s been gaining traction since,

During the Obama era up to 200,000 deportation cases were "administratively closed" without action, a move that left tens of thousands of illegal immigrants free to roam America, sometimes indefinitely, according to a new report. When added to those cases still pending court action, it brings the backlog of cases to about 800,000, far more than previously known. In the report for the Center for Immigration Studies, former immigration judge Andrew R. Arthur said that there are some 100,000 cases that were closed, but told Secrets that it could be as high as 200,000. "My back-of-the-envelope calculations suggest at least 100,000 more

Summer totals will probably limp in around $3.7 billion, which still seems like a fortune to us schlumps who are balking at paying $13 or more for a worn seat on a sticky floor and twice as much for a popcorn and drink. Summer attendance, experts say, is certain to be the worst in a quarter-century and maybe you can guess what that means
