Democrats Renew Push to Probe
Deutsche Bank Russia Scandal

Bloomberg News, by Greg Farrell and Billy House

Original Article

A handful of Democratic lawmakers have renewed their effort to get a powerful House Republican to investigate Deutsche Bank AG’s loans to President Donald Trump and the bank’s role in helping Russians move billions of dollars from Moscow to the west. In a letter to Jeb Hensarling of Texas, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Representative Maxine Waters of California, the committee’s ranking Democrat, urged him to issue subpoenas to Deutsche Bank. She wants to force the German lender to disclose its internal review of the so-called “mirror-trading” scandal that has cost the bank more than $600 million in fines

ANYONE who agrees to any kind of investigation of the President should be met with a strong primary challenger backed by the RNC and the Voters who will send money in piles! Time to stop this foolishness and let the President get to work for us.

It should be very clear to Ms Waters that an investigation into her extremely murky (and easily traced) bank, loans and payroll actions will also be conducted at the same time. It would be very nice of House leadership (oxymoron, I know!) would do this but obviously they don´t want to hurt the feelings of their peers so look the other way. But WE, the People, can certainly bring it to the surface. Maxine needs to retire...do we want hateful people as our Representativrs? Ellison? Lewis? Conyers?

Armed Venezuelan soldiers caught

BOGOTA, Colombia A handful of Venezuelan soldiers — armed and in uniform — were caught in neighboring Guyana last week begging for food, local police reported, another sign of Venezuela’s deepening hunger crisis. Guyanese Police Inspector Christopher Humphrey said he’d gone to the border along the Amacuro river, which divides the two nations, to investigate reports that the Venezuelan military was stealing food from locals. But the three soldiers he encountered — two carrying military assault rifles — said they had come to beg for meals and hadn’t harmed anyone. Humphrey said the men had crossed into Guyana on a wooden

Zimbabwe’s first lady, Grace Mugabe, returned home on Tuesday from South Africa after failing to turn herself in to police in Johannesburg to face charges of assaulting a model in a hotel room. There was no immediate public comment on the case from Grace Mugabe, 52, a possible successor to her husband President Robert Mugabe, 93, who has ruled Zimbabwe since 1980. But Zimbabwe government sources confirmed she had returned home. “Yes, she is back in the country. We don’t know where this issue of assault charges is coming from,” said a senior government official, who declined to be named

Socialism has long been associated with shortages and nowhere is that more evident than in California, land of surf, sun, skiing, skateboarding and other youth-oriented pursuits. The socialists have managed to chase out the youth. Joel Kotkin and Wendell Cox report: Let’s start with the millennials, the population that was aged between 20 and 34 in 2015. Since 2000, the growth of this segment of the population has been, for the most part, very slow along the coastal regions, well below the 6 percent national average. In Los Angeles and Orange County, the youth population grew by roughly 3 percent,

There´s been some brouhaha about Columbia University´s Graduate School of Journalism´s new data journalism degree, which comes with a whopping $150,000 price tag for the three-semester Master´s degree. The lowly median annual wage for journalists is being repeatedly cited as reason for the questionability of the degree. At Forbes, Preston Cooper notes: The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities for reporters and correspondents will shrink by 8% over the next decade. These jobs currently pay a median annual wage of $37,820. I´m not buying that as reason for the questionability of the degree. Median is just that, median, and an

President Trump shocked the foreign policy establishment and triggered the usual vitriol from Caracas with his re-declaration that a U.S. Marine invasion was a live possibility as a means of dealing with Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro. “We have many options for Venezuela, including a possible military option if necessary,” Trump told reporters at his New Jersey golf club. “We are all over the world and we have troops all over the world in places that are very, very far away,” Trump said. “Venezuela is not very far away and people are suffering and dying.” It was a restatement of a White House statement

SEOUL, South Korea — In China, the man threatening to fire missiles at the United States is often derided as a chubby brat. In the United States, a senator recently referred to him as “this crazy fat kid.” President Trump once called him “a total nut job.” But the target of all that scorn, Kim Jong-un, the 33-year-old leader of North Korea, has long been underestimated. Mr. Kim was the youngest of three sons yet leapfrogged his brothers to succeed his father, Kim Jong-il. Many analysts dismissed him as an inexperienced figurehead when he took power at 27; some predicted he would

Suppose further that you knew that the future would be prosperous when you left office because the connections you made would make you a fortune as a lobbyist. Moreover, since unseating an incumbent is a herculean task, you felt that you were set for life. In fact, as soon as you got elected, you began raising money and preparing for re-election. President Trump should have left well enough alone. His Monday denunciation of costumed sheet-wearers and Nazi wanna-bes could have cleared the way for Americans of all stripes to focus their outrage on things that matter more than presidential words. That would be the violence that is infecting our politics and the frightening acceptance of it as the new normal. But Trump’s defiance yesterday is sure to keep the media pot boiling over his rhetoric instead of an ominous reality. Namely, that real protestors don’t carry baseball bats, crowbars and mace.
