Damore: I was fired because of
´ideological echo chamber´ at Google

American Thinker, by Rick Moran

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 8/12/2017 10:28:40 AM

James Damore, the engineer fired by Google after penning a memo crtiticizing the company´s diversity policy, published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal explaining "Why I was fired by Google." Needless to say, the reasons he gives are not a surprise. My 10-page document set out what I considered a reasoned, well-researched, good-faith argument, but as I wrote, the viewpoint I was putting forward is generally suppressed at Google because of the company’s “ideological echo chamber.” My firing neatly confirms that point. How did Google, the company that hires the smartest people in the world, become so ideologically driven

Google would like to hire the smartest people in the world. That meme is just to give the cupcakes something to ´feel´ good about themselves, and ´feel´ they are members of the self-anointed elite club.

The smartest people in the world know better.

From the article: "...there are definitely cultural differences in education that discourage women from taking up the sciences."

Moran criticizes the kid Damore for not knowing what he´s talking about, then comes out with this trite little gem. At least Damore gave references.

Unfortunately, Google is a shining beacon of free speech compared to ANY university or government agency. There the forced brainwashing and outright intimidation/punishment/banishment is relentless and overwhelming.

1984 is here. Some of us are just beginning to wake up to check the calendar.

I understand exactly what Demore faced and probably why he wrote his essay. I served seven years at my county’s Socialist Services. I did not want to work there, but in a rural county I had no other option. I had previously worked for the LA City Dept. of Airports, and although my boss was a Dem Party operative I was always treated with respect and evaluated upon my work performance. I was naïve enough back in 2000 to believe I would be accorded that same professionalism at the Social Services Department.

I was not surprised by the socialist viewpoints of social workers in running public programs, but I was surprised to learn how they manipulate the system to add people onto the rolls. I would often question the ethics of procedures deviating from the manuals, but would be dismissed as not understanding “social services.” I would point out our fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers to make sure we help those truly in need, and would be lectured on the value of bringing in more federal and state money to our local economy.

I witnessed conservative social workers, those who followed program rules, hounded out of their jobs so I easily recognized the purge tactics when they turned them on me. The psychological pressure is unimaginable. One day I went to lunch and never went back. That was ten years ago and I still shudder when I have to drive by that building. Don’t fool yourself thinking this is only in California. Any conservative working for government or a large corporation, especially in the urban areas, face some form of this abuse on their jobs, just to hold their jobs.

MAGA – It’s about smashing PC group think.

In 2005, the Los Angeles Times hired me as a columnist. That was great news (for me). But the best part was when Barbra Streisand canceled her subscription in protest. Her real complaint wasn’t so much that the Times had hired me, but that it had dropped Robert Scheer, an old-style, left-wing writer, in the same editorial shakeup. “The greater Southern California community is one that not only proudly embraces its diversity, but demands it,” Streisand wrote in an “open letter” to the newspaper. “Your decision to fire Robert Scheer is a great disservice to the spirit of our community.”

The Washington Examiner catches some Trump Twitter intrigue: The president’s July 26 tweet grousing that acting FBI director Andrew McCabe should have been fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions came only hours after the FBI’s raid on the Virginia home of Paul Manafort, the subject of my column yesterday. Obviously, the Examiner is deducing that there is a causal connection between the Manafort raid and Trump’s tweet. This inference is reasonable, but not ineluctable. For present purposes, however, I am more interested in reports that business records, connected to Manafort’s taxes and foreign bank transactions, were the object of the

I’m going to have to disagree with a number of people I respect. It’s good, for this time, that American generals John Kelly, James Mattis, and H. R. McMaster are together working at the apex of American civilian government. It’s good, for this time, that these same men are operating as a check on the most erratic and ill-informed president in modern American history, and maybe ever. Yes, there are serious men, such as former Bush-administration adviser Eliot Cohen and Naval War College professor Tom Nichols, who’ve made the case that Trump’s reliance on an unusual number of generals represents

It’s quite an old story here in Washington. Every administration has had its leakers and every president in my lifetime has demanded the leakers be identified so they could be punished. But punishment has been rare. Why? My first bit of understanding came from Richard Helms, the then-retired CIA director. He was one of my favorite gurus, a real gentleman, and a man of honor. One day the conversation got to leaks, and he gave a short sermon we’d do well to keep in mind. “Yes,” he said, “I was often instructed to find the source of some very bothersome

There’s a reason Clarence Thomas writes so many solo dissents and concurrences. The second-longest-tenured justice on the Supreme Court has spent more than 25 years staking out a right-wing worldview that can generously be described as idiosyncratic. Thomas’ Constitution is one that gives a president at war the powers of a king while depriving Congress of any meaningful ability to regulate the country. His opposition to the very existence of much of the federal regulatory state, too, has never quite found five votes on the court. The Democratic Party has never accepted the result of the 2016 presidential election, and Democrats in Washington are working feverishly to destroy the Trump administration. At the moment, it appears that they might well succeed. But the current drama in Washington shouldn’t obscure the bigger picture: the Democratic Party is in deep trouble. Tonight, the Governor of West Virginia will announce that he is switching parties and joining the GOP. This isn’t a big deal, since he was a registered Republican until 2015, when he decided to run for governor as a Democrat. But as of tomorrow, this is what

An extra twist of the knife for Democrats: He did it alongside President Trump, at a rally in West Virginia. “Like it or not, but the Democrats walked away from me,” he told Trump supporters. " ... BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — White House officials, under siege over President Trump’s reluctance to condemn white supremacists for the weekend’s bloody rallies in Charlottesville, Va., tried to clarify his comments on Sunday, as critics in both parties intensified demands that he adopt a stronger, more unifying message. A statement on Sunday — issued more than 36 hours after the protests began — condemned “white supremacists” for the violence that led to one death. It came in an email sent to reporters in the president’s traveling press pool, and was attributed to an unnamed representative. It was not attributed directly to Mr.
