Media Matters Falsely Claims It
Only Got One Soros Gift. Try 5!

NewsBusters, by Dan Gainor

CNN fired commentator Jeffrey Lord after his big Twitter battle with Media Matters president Angelo Carusone. Lord had criticized the lefty outlet for being Soros-funded. Carusone repeatedly claimed on Twitter that Media Matters had only received “one donation one time...in 2010” from billionaire George Soros. Turns out, that’s not at all true. Soros’ Foundation to Promote Open Society (OSF) tax forms show five separate donations between 2010 and 2014 totalling $1,575,000. Soros gave the organization money every other year during that time. And, since the organization’s 990 tax forms aren’t yet available for 2016, it’s impossible to tell if that

IIRC he founded the Move On organization back during the Bill Clinton days and then gave a huge chunk of cash as seed money for Media Matters - that Hillary claimed to co-found. I suspect George has been bankrolling many such organizations through various entities he controls.

The Department of Justice has requested information on visitors to a website used to organize protests against President Trump, the Los Angeles-based Dreamhost said in a blog post published on Monday. Dreamhost, a web hosting provider, said that it has been working with the Department of Justice for several months on the request, which believes goes too far under the Constitution. DreamHost claimed that the complying with the request from the Justice Department would amount to handing over roughly 1.3 million visitor IP addresses to the government, in addition to contact information, email content and photos of thousands of visitors

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has backed down on his threat to launch a missile attack on Guam. Pyongyang´s state media reported early Tuesday local time North Korea´s military won´t strike Guam, a U.S. island territory of 160,000 people in the western Pacific Ocean that hosts American military bases. But Kim could change his mind "if the Yankees persist in their extremely dangerous reckless actions." A strike on Guam would be a "most delightful historic moment," Kim said, that would "wring the windpipes of the Yankees and point daggers at their necks." The state media said Kim decided to

Environmental Protection Agency employees under the Obama administration earned emergency overtime pay without justification, in violation of agency policy. The inspector general for the agency released an audit last week finding "numerous instances of noncompliance" of the emergency overtime pay system for employees in Seattle, Wash. Employees must receive a waiver from biweekly pay caps if they are to receive extra pay for working during a natural disaster, or for conducting "mission-critical" work. The inspector general found just a fraction of employees in the final three years of the Obama administration who received overtime pay had requested a waiver. "For Region

During the 2016 campaign, many of us saw the election as being about the naming of a justice to the Supreme Court, along with many other judicial appointments from coast to coast. As my conservative friend from Dallas said to me: "If judges are going to decide what marriage is, then let´s make sure that we put judges in who actually understand the U.S. Constitution." So I was delighted to see this post by Fred Lucas about President Trump and judges: To date, Trump has nominated 44 federal judges and scored eight confirmations, including Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — White House officials, under siege over President Trump’s reluctance to condemn white supremacists for the weekend’s bloody rallies in Charlottesville, Va., tried to clarify his comments on Sunday, as critics in both parties intensified demands that he adopt a stronger, more unifying message. It came in an email sent to reporters in the president’s traveling press pool, and was attributed to an unnamed representative. It was not attributed directly to Mr.
