Mueller’s Raid on Manafort’s Home
National Review Online, by Andrew C. McCarthy

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 8/9/2017 8:22:10 PM

There are two possible rationales: the legitimate one and the brass-knuckles one. Here’s the thing to bear in mind about the Washington Post’s report that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had the FBI execute a search warrant against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort in late July: Prosecutors don’t do pre-dawn raids on the home of a cooperating witness. Manafort has publicly projected cooperation. Of course, we can’t know how cooperative he has actually been. The public has been kept in the dark about what is being investigated, and Mueller and the congressional committees are doing most of their work behind

Comments:
Of the two possible rationales I choose brass-knuckles. McCarthy gives his usual excellent analysis. He questions, like most of us, if Manafort is cooperating why was an FBI even necessary? Rosenstein sure has a lot of questions that need answered. I just don´t trust that guy.

In my alternate version of the news I chose to believe that Mueller´s actions are intended to prove that his investigation of Trump/Russia is as exhaustive as the investigation into Hillary´s many crimes surrounding her illegal server wasn´t.

I think it is fair to say that the more irrefutable evidence of Dimmi collusion and other illegal activities become public knowledge, the greater the efforts of Democrat Mueller, his Democrat dream team, the DOJ and the FBI and other assorted Dimmi assets to keep the Trump-Russia nothingburger alive.

I guess there is nothing Gentleman Jeff can do, just like the other "Republican" senators.

Somebody help me out here...did I somehow sleep through the breaking news about the early morning raids on Hillary´s home, or Lois Lerner´s, or any other Democrat´s who clearly committed felonies, not just suspicious actions? Jeez Louise this raid on Manafort is such a crock. Clearly intended to imply major guilt. And clearly unjustified since he has been cooperating with no expressed charge at all.

I don´t care how much the enemedia squeal and how much Maxine rants, fire Mueller and end this nonsense now. This is absurd.

From what I read, the man convicted in Mueller´s investigation of the Georgetown Starbucks murder widely thought to be Arkancide denied he had done it for 54 hours before he "confessed" and then when he had got some sleep he went back to denying it again. His name was Cooper and you can Google this. Anyway I think that too was contrary to Guidelnes but Mueller did it anyway. Guidelines are not for the Clinton Cleanup Crew. Guidelines are for Republican saps.

Every time this issue, Mueller, comes up, my BP spikes. The AG fouled this one up. President Trump, is a really special human. Had I been AG´s boss he would have been packed and gone within minutes of the stunt he pulled. OTOH, putting a Senator in an action job just didn´t make sense to me. I´m keeping the faith with PT and hope this all shakes out in our favor ... somehow.
More on point with the article, Manafort has to be lawyered up. So there must be more to it than this analysis. I have a hard time believing Manafort´s lawyers are just sitting back and watching their client get mauled. Is there something going on where Manafort is being so cooperative, as in to get immunity the witness must be fully cooperative? Mr. McCarthy is at his best in this type of analysis and he didn´t scratch the surface and what action Mr. Manafort could have and did or didn´t take.

This is following perfectly the template laid down the a couple of democrat prosecutors in Wisconsin who for years conducted a John Doe (like a grandjury without the jurors) investigation trying to destroy Governor Walker. There were middle of the night swat raids to seize computers and records and constant leaks of the supposedly secret investigation. In the end, the courts finally shut the witch hunt down. Several of the victims are still waiting after years to get their stuff back. Scott Walker is still our governor.

"Prosecutors don’t do pre-dawn raids on the home of a cooperating witness."

Of COURSE they do. If a witness really is innocent and has nothing to give the feds and the desperate feds have a point to prove. No suspect would completely surrender all aspects of their life, mostly that have nothing to do with the investigation, to satisfy a witch hunt. The feds would ask for information pertinent to the investigation. If there is nothing, nothing will be turned over. The feds raid to cast a broad net, seeking the needle in the haystack, which may not even exist. It happens all the time.

This also sends a daunting message, work with Trump and your life may be destroyed in a futile search for wrongdoing. After nothing is found, oops, so sorry.

In the world of Statist tyrants, the process is the punishment. Manafort has done nothing wrong. If he had, you´d of heard about it. No, Manafort is being ground up by a posse of bureaucrats who will spout flowery language about "protecting the integrity of the system", but really mean, "participate in the purging of the system, and the system will crush you."

Wow, so I was wrong and so is McCarthy. This Russia collusion story, that I said was created to utterly destroy Trump once he lost to Hillary, to send a message to anyone who dared stand up against the Deep State, was created to destroy Trump whether he lost or won.

The rationale is brass knuckles and Mueller WILL FIND a crime. The crime WILL BE a process crime, completely unrelated to the Russia collusion story (and remember, this investigation is being done ONLY because of the fake dossier that was given magical powers of reality by the Marxists, GOP, media-entertainment-education and anyone else in the Deep State).

The Deep State will not stop, EVER, even after 2020 or 2024. The message to you and I and anyone who stands up to this tyranny government is "we WILL and CAN destroy you."

Goodbye Constitution. It was nice knowin´ ya.

#3 is correct, "end this nonsense."
Our President is indeed the goal.

And #12, Manafort is not cooperative, even his son-in-law is now involved to try to get at him.

Cut off the funding and close this down, Mr. President.
Address the American People and call off these raids. We must come together as a nation against evil here and N. Korea, Iran, ISIS.
Have a heart-to-heart with Jeff Sessions and appoint a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of the true crimes and corruption these past eight years.

The Republican Party´s collective response to Donald Trump´s handling of the Charlottesville race riots turned uglier on Friday. Mitt Romney, the failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate and former Massachusetts governor whom Trump has bashed relentlessly for more than two years, lashed out against him on Facebook for what he said was a hamfisted message during Tuesday´s press conference – and demanded a full-throated apology from the president. (Snip) Trump´s remoteness from the rest of the GOP has become so severe that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, a longtime ally of the president´s, sounded a loud alarm Friday morning.

Washington — A prominent Republican senator delivered a stinging rebuke Thursday of Donald Trump’s short time in office, declaring he has not shown the stability or competence required for an American president to succeed. Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, also said Trump “recently has not demonstrated that he understands the character of this nation.” (Snip) Trump, he said, needs “to take stock of the role that he plays in our nation and move beyond himself, move way beyond himself, and move to a place where daily he’s waking up thinking about what is best for

The Presidency: President Trump´s statements regarding the tragic events in Charlottesville have created a firestorm that, even by the unique Trump-era standards, appears unprecedented. Unless Trump can undo the damage, it could cripple his administration. In his presidential memoir, "Decision Points," President George W. Bush wrote about the fallout from 2015´s Hurricane Katrina and his own mishandling of the situation. In particular, he admitted that a photo taken of him flying over New Orleans was a huge mistake. "That photo of me hovering over the damage suggested I was detached from the suffering on the ground. That was not how

A House Democrat introduced a resolution on Friday suggesting that President Trump undergo a physical and mental health exam to help determine whether he is fit for office. Rep. Zoe Lofgren’s (D-Calif.) resolution specifically calls on Vice President Pence and Trump’s Cabinet members to “quickly secure the services of medical and psychiatric professionals” to “assist in their deliberations” invoking the 25th Amendment, which outlines presidential removal procedures. It posits that such an examination by doctors would “determine whether the president suffers from mental disorder or other injury that impairs his abilities and prevents him from discharging his Constitutional duties.
