Chinese authorities have announced plans to create a national reputation index. Under the scheme everyone will receive a virtue score based on observable behavior. "The Chinese government has announced a new universal reputation score, tied to every person in the country´s nation ID number and based on such factors as political compliance, hobbies, shopping, and whether you play videogames." (Snip) There is already a similar Western system of shame and virtue rating. It is called Political Correctness and uses boycotts, doxing and ridicule etc to punish those with low ratings, and reward high scorers with talk show interviews, book contracts
Huh, must have learned that one at Harvard. We are so ahead of the curve aren´t we.
I understand your point #1 but like a broken record I bring up the Venona Project any time McCarthy comes up. We have been duped into believing McCarthy was on a witch hunt but it turned out the witches actually were everywhere and we are still dealing with them.
FTA: “A chaos is breaking out. There may now be more Truths than the Narrative can reconcile…”
“Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, the blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere the ceremony of innocence is drowned; the best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.” – W.B. Yeats, “The Second Coming”
After defeating Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo, western civilization patted itself on the back for defeating evil and pretended their win was a final victory. Exhausted by the fight the Allied powers agreed to, or were unable to challenge, the continued existence of communism embodied in the Soviet Union.
Communism is the preferred political system of the evil one. One hundred years ago the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in Fatima, Portugal. (Interesting that the town was named after Mohammed’s daughter when the Muslims controlled the Iberian Peninsula.) In the apparitions running from May to October in 1917, our Blessed Mother foretold the end of WWI, the beginning of WWII, and further chaos as the “errors of communism are spread throughout the world.”
The errors of communism have infected all of Western Europe and these once United States. I do not find it just a coincidence that the same year of the centennial of the apparitions at Fatima brings the unraveling the globalists’ plans in the EU and the USA. Millions of President Trump’s supporters believe his election was a gift from God, a grace given to us to fight and win over the evil that has stolen our liberties – both spiritual and secular. This is more than a political battle, it is the battle of good verses evil and requires a national spiritual awakening for true victory.
We have written about the rape crisis in Rotherham, England. There, over a period of years, more than 1,400 girls, many of them pre-teens, were raped and trafficked by a loose consortium of men. The men were all Muslim immigrants or sons of immigrants, mainly from Pakistan. The girls were all, or nearly all, white. When the scandal finally came to light in 2014, city officials said that they had been reluctant to do anything about the problem for fear of being accused of racism. Sarah Champion represents Rotherham. Until recently she was Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities. She
Neo-Nazis have been around for a long time. I remember learning as a teenager that there was an American Nazi party led by George Lincoln Rockwell. It seemed odd, but no one paid much attention. Neo-Nazis and white supremacists–the terms seem to be used interchangeably these days–have been with us for decades, regarded as irrelevant fringe groups consisting of nuts and watchful FBI agents. Suddenly, though, that has changed. Neo-Nazi/white supremacist groups turned out a few hundred tiki torch-carrying goofs in Charlottesville, and now these fringe kooks have become, we are told, a crisis of the republic. Politicians race to denounce
It is fitting that the FedEx Cup Playoffs started with one of the great playoffs in recent memory. Dustin Johnson took The Northern Trust on Sunday in a one-hole playoff over Jordan Spieth by hitting two of the more memorable shots of his incredibly dynamic career. Spieth, who came in having closed nine of his last 10 leads after 54 holes, opened a five-stroke margin on Johnson after leading by just three on the first tee box. Spieth birdied two of the first five holes, and it looked like he was going to dart away from the jungle cat before Johnson
I do hope that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo runs for president in 2020, and further that he is the Democratic nominee. He appears determined to make upstate New York into the East Germany of America by his intransigent refusal to allow fracking to produce natural gas, thus keeping shale gas-rich upstate New York from enjoying the same kind of prosperity as western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. Cuomo’s anti-gas bias extends to using state power to block natural gas pipelines intended to serve New England that have received federal approval. So lots of New Englanders will have continue using more
This Washington Post story is called “At CIA, a watchful eye on Mike Pompeo, the president’s ardent ally.” It sounds like the CIA is spying on its own director. If there is such a thing as the “deep state,” I think we have sighted it. According to Post reporter Greg Miller, “Mike Pompeo has taken a special interest in an agency unit that is closely tied to the investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, requiring the Counterintelligence Mission Center to report directly to him.” That’s one way of putting it. A more honest way would be to
The coast-to-coast solar eclipse that crossed the US in 2017 revealed some interesting insights into some people´s thinking. One rapper, perhaps attempting to emulate a similar reported feat by president Trump, deliberately stared at the sun without protective glasses with unfortunate effects. Others took precautions against retinal damage but not of the right kind. Bruce Lee at Forbes reports that some patients were admitted in Ohio for putting sunscreen on their eyeballs. "This is not the way you are supposed to use sunscreen. The directions on a sunscreen bottle typically do not say: 1. Open bottle 2. Squeeze some sunscreen
Reaction to this month´s Season 2 premiere of the Emmy-nominated Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath series has been swift, from the religion´s international spiritual headquarters in Clearwater and nationwide. Two dueling online petitions have emerged since the Aug. 15 premiere: one calling for the IRS to investigate Scientology´s tax exempt status. That one was launched by Jeffrey Augustine, Scientology researcher and husband of former Scientologist Karen de la Carriere, who served aboard the church´s ship Apollo with founder L. Ron Hubbard. The other, launched by a teenage Scientologist in India, calls for the cancellation of the series, alleging it is
College administrators absolutely HATE men. We all know this. Almost every college has at least one initiative geared towards mocking men for their “fragile masculinity,” denigrating so-called “toxic masculinity,” or treating men as if they’re all potential rapists, in need of remedial feminist education on how to respect women. Princeton University, for example, is hiring a “Men’s Engagement Manager” to fight against “toxic masculinity.” Ithaca College, meanwhile, has sponsored lectures on “masculinity and violence,” and Duke University has an ongoing “Men’s Project” designed to teach men how to “begin the work of unlearning violence.” Those are just a few of the dozens
Democrat politicians like Nancy Pelosi have given their ultra-violent “antifa” allies permission to use physical violence against the Patriot Prayer group rallying in a San Francisco park on Saturday by smearing them as “Nazi sympathizers.” The story of Oregon-based Patriot Prayer is a case study in the power of propaganda in generating leftist mass hysteria. It is also a reaffirmation that everyone has First Amendment rights in America, except for non-leftists. Leftists are already planning riots. One of the more cowardly leftists intends to cover the rally site at Crissy Field inside San Francisco’s Golden Gate National Recreation Area near the
CLEARWATER — Robert Michael Miller was caught on surveillance video leaving a Top of the World apartment about 1:50 a.m. Aug. 13. In his pockets, deputies said, was another man´s car keys, credit cards and phone. Inside the apartment was the other man: Christopher Weimer, 61, was struck in the head, then left bound and gagged in his own home, deputies said. For days, Miller and his wife went on a spending spree, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff´s Office, while Weimer was left to die. Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri announced Friday that Miller will face a charge of first-degree murder in Weimer´s
10 shares A When Caroline Randall Williams practically begs Barack Obama to speak out on the state of American politics, she speaks for millions of distraught Democrats. “We need your voice,” she writes in an op-ed for the New York Times. “There is not a saner, more trustworthy opinion that many of us would rather hear.” Williams confesses to a sense of “panic,” and Donald Trump’s penchant for divisive racial agitation surely hasn’t helped ease her sense of dread. But by her own admission, her nervous condition is a result of less sober and rational voices on the left sucking up all the oxygen.
Ten years ago, after An Inconvenient Truth appeared, I produced by own 48-minute video lecture on what’s wrong with Al Gore’s account of the whole matter, which I called An Inconvenient Truth—Or Convenient Fiction? (It’s still up on YouTube, along with a short update I did one year later, but both are way out of date now, so I don’t especially recommend them.) I just haven’t got it in me to suffer through Gore’s new sequel (and apparently not many other moviegoers can either), and so I’m not going to produce another rebuttal video. Fortunately, we have Dr. Roy Spencer
House Speaker Paul Ryan is breaking with President Trump over the latter´s decision to pardon former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Friday. "The speaker does not agree with the decision," said spokesman Doug Andres. "Law-enforcement officials have a special responsibility to respect the rights of everyone in the United States. We should not allow anyone to believe that responsibility is diminished by this pardon." Ryan becomes the highest-ranking GOP lawmaker to break with Trump over the decision to pardon Arpaio, who was convicted of contempt of court for refusing to stop detaining Latinos on suspicion of being illegal immigrants.
Intelligent people are more likely to swear and walk around naked at home, according to a new study. Quizzing about 1,000 people on 400 typical behaviours, researchers at the University of Rochester in the US also found that extroverts are prone to telling dirty jokes, while those with agreeable personalities are more likely to sing in the shower. During the study, participants were asked if they performed each of the 400 behaviours, and how often. The results were then compared with their own personalities, with the aim being to identify signature behaviours for each of the main personality types.
I was born in Mexico, grew up in Tijuana, and moved to Arizona when I was 14. I went to high school in a small town called Holbrook, then went to Phoenix to go to Arizona State University. By that time, roughly 2012, Joe Arpaio’s vicious anti-Latino tactics had already raised racial tensions in Maricopa County, where he was sheriff. At the time, Arpaio was infamous among my community for his “sweeps.” He would send police into restaurants, hotels or anywhere else he suspected undocumented people might be working and would arrest those who couldn’t produce IDs. People lived in fear
In January of 2009, I stood waiting in Wilmington, Delaware, for a train carrying the first African American elected president of the United States. I was there to join him as vice president on the way to a historic Inauguration. It was a moment of extraordinary hope for our nation—but I couldn’t help thinking about a darker time years before at that very site. My mind’s eye drifted back to 1968. I could see the flames burning Wilmington, the violence erupting on the news of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, the federal troops taking over my city. I was living history—and reliving
What on earth has happened to the moral and political sensibilities of Paul Ryan, John McCain, Jeff Flake, Jeb Bush, etc.? All of those RINOs who are attacking President Trump for pardoning Joe Arpaio are simpering, whining traitors to the party they allegedly represent. They should declare themselves Democrats and be done with the masquerade. Perhaps they should remind themselves of all the criminals and thugs that President Obama pardoned, or that President Clinton pardoned. Trump made it clear at his rally in Phoenix that he was going to pardon the beleaguered sheriff. The audience there was thrilled, as were the
"Two sides" didn´t produce the horrifying violence at Charlottesville. There were many sides. All were bad in varying degrees. The worst of the bad guys, of course, was the homicidal loser who drove a car into a crowd of people for the purpose of killing as many as he could. This is the guy who once assaulted his mother and was drummed out of the Army after four months. The next worst were the neo-Nazis. Yes, other groups are equally violent, equally racist, equally hateful and equally stupid. But neo-Nazis are in a special category because their predecessors — the ones that
This week former Speaker of the House California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said, “The Constitution does not say that a person can yell wolf in a crowded theater.” For the first time, she said something with which I find no fault. I scoured the Constitution and there’s not a word about crying wolf in it. On the other hand, it does give primacy to the right of free speech. Americans still believe strongly in that right. Americans agree freedom of speech is under assault but strongly insist that they are prepared to defend that freedom even at the cost of their lives
Despite the repeated warnings from Texas Governor Greg Abbott for people to consider evacuating the Houston area ahead of the anticipated flooding from Hurricane Harvey, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner took to social media on August 25th and instructed residents NOT to evacuate. (Tweets)Two days later, August 27th, the residents of Houston are trapped, panicked and rescue efforts are ongoing.
Officials at the San Domenico School in California decided recently to remove the Catholic statues and icons in a move to be seen as more inclusive. The school is celebrating its 167th year. (Photo) Officials feared the statues of Jesus and Mary were alienating. MarinIJ reported: Removal of a number of statues and other smaller Catholic icons from the campus of San Domenico School in San Anselmo has raised concerns among some parents. In an email to the school’s board of directors, Dominican Sisters of San Rafael and the head of school, Shannon Fitzpatrick objected to the removal of the
Lost emails, destroyed hard drives, foot dragging, stonewalling, and a smirking, sneering IRS commissioner doing his best to obscure the truth -- this has largely been the response by the Internal Revenue Service to investigations by Congress and FOIA requests from conservative groups trying to discover the truth about the IRS targeting scandal. But one federal judge appears to be just as curious as the rest of us about what exactly the IRS was up to when it targeted conservative groups for special scrutiny in approving their tax-exempt status. Washington Examiner: Judge Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District
(Video) - Well before a white nationalist “Unite the Right” demonstration turned deadly in Charlottesville this month, attendees were planning for violence, according to leaked online chats. In private chat channels, they shared advice on weaponry and tactics, including repeatedly broaching the idea of driving vehicles through opposition crowds. After the vehicular attack which killed counterprotestor Heather Heyer, users of the channel celebrated the event. The discussions took place on a private channel created using Discord, a service primarily intended for gamers. Hundreds of screenshots of the exchanges were released this
That Hillary Clinton´s White House hopes were stunted at least in part by an unfair news media is a conviction that continues to burn strong with her hardcore believers, even as the rest of us know that, like Santa, the Easter Bunny, and Chris Cillizza´s political insight, it isn´t real. Complaints about the media as it relates to Clinton resurfaced this week after a New York Times reporter defended his paper´s coverage in 2016. Critics bombarded New York Times White House Correspondent Glenn Thrush on Monday after he shared a news article on Twitter about the Secret Service running out of money
