Graham troubled by report of Trump’s
role in son’s Russia meeting response

Daily Mail [UK], by Louis Nelson

Sen. Lindsey Graham said Tuesday that reports that President Donald Trump personally dictated his son’s misleading statement regarding a meeting last summer with a Russian attorney “bothers me a lot,” as do the president’s regular requests that the Senate do away with the legislative filibuster, a non-starter according to the South Carolina lawmaker. Still, Graham (R-S.C.) indicated that the possibility still existed for Trump’s presidency to “still be very consequential” if the president is able to refocus on healthcare and other legislative priorities. “It bothers me a lot because, one, he put his son in jeopardy,” Graham said on NBC’s “Today” show

It’s time to drop the myth of ‘Donald the Dove’
Washington Post, by Adam Taylor    Original Article
Posted By: Attercliffe- 8/23/2017 2:51:24     Post Reply
Once upon a time, President Trump was portrayed as a peacemaker. On the campaign trail, he talked up his belated opposition to the Iraq War and suggested he would be willing to negotiate with North Korea. His skepticism of military alliances seemed to tie into a broader policy of isolationism and opposition to regime change. As Maureen Dowd put it in a now-notorious column, the election was “Donald the Dove” versus “Hillary the Hawk.” Seven months into Trump´s presidency, that fairy tale has crumbled. This week, Trump announced he will give the Pentagon authority to increase troop levels in Afghanistan

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea’s state news media released a photograph Wednesday suggesting that the North was working on a more powerful solid-fuel ballistic missile, and said the country’s leader, Kim Jong-un, had ordered the production of more rocket engines and warheads. Unlike liquid-fuel rockets, solid-fuel missiles do not have to be loaded with fuel just before launching, a process that can take up to an hour and make the missile vulnerable to a pre-emptive strike. Such missiles are also easier to transport and hide. Mr. Kim gave his order to bolster the country’s missile arsenal during a visit to the

President Obama attracted 40 million viewers to their televisions for a speech on Afghanistan during his first year in office, in December 2009, the Hill newspaper pointed out. Part of the 12 million person difference may have been, however, because of the time of year While August days are long and sunny, there are generally more TV watchers in December because the days are short and cold, the Hill noted.
