Trump dictated son’s misleading statement
on meeting with Russian lawyer

Washington Post, by Ashley Parker*

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 7/31/2017 9:24:39 PM

On the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Germany last month, President Trump’s advisers discussed how to respond to a new revelation that Trump’s oldest son had met with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign — a disclosure the advisers knew carried political and potentially legal peril. The strategy, the advisers agreed, should be for Donald Trump Jr. to release a statement to get ahead of the story. They wanted to be truthful, so their account couldn’t be repudiated later if the full details emerged. But within hours, at the president’s direction, the plan changed. Flying home

Here we go again. How do we even know this is true? Of course the desired damage will be done. I want these leakers to be fired immediately!! Of course once again this article is filled anonymous sources. I´m so sick of this outrageous behavior from the media and those who are doing nothing but hurting Trump.

It´s simply remarkable the lengths that the WaPo will go to try and bring Trump down, and at the same time ignore real scandals.

Who are all these anonymous “advisers” who know what President Trump did on the flight back from the G20?

One of Trump’s attorneys, Jay Sekulow, declined to discuss the specifics of the president’s actions and his role in crafting his son’s statement about the Russian contact. Sekulow issued a one-sentence statement in response to a list of detailed questions from The Post.

“Apart from being of no consequence, the characterizations are misinformed, inaccurate, and not pertinent,” Sekulow’s statement read.

It´s WaPo. Probably "fake news" as OP suspects. Donald Jr. strikes me as smart enough not to need his dad to dictate a statement to him, especially with advisers available to assist.

This is why more and more folks no longer trust the "lamestream" media. Their main capital is credibility, which they have lost.

Probably more fake news, but if not, how many people aboard Air Force One would be in a position to witness President Trump dictating that statement and how would they know at the time that Trump knew that the statement was actually misleading? That´s the media´s problem...each time they "print" (put out) a story with anonymous as a source, its another nail in their coffin.

They´ve overused the word anonymous so completely, I presume the source is fictional, the information is fictional, and the news outlet is a lying steaming pile of...´nuff said.

The WaPo writes these articles primarily for their fellow travelers. They must keep them in a perpetual state of agitation. The narrative of Trump wrongdoing must not be allowed to wane. They must be encouraged to believe that any moment Donald Trump will be escorted out of the White House in disgrace. That is the fantasy they weave every single day. All this deception because they can´t accept the fact that Americans have rejected them and want no part of their agenda. While they indeed may be delusional, they are deadly serious about their methods. We are facing an enemy who is focused and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Truth is immaterial when propaganda is your driving force.

This is just more red meat from the WaPo feeding the left frenzy machine. It´s an attempt to get the Libs (like Mad Cow, Morning Schmoe and the Spitter) to "connect the dots" that it was Reince or Spicer getting revenge by leaking this to them. Only one problem: The whole thing is made up.

And even if it were 100% true ... a majority of us don´t give a rat´s patootie. A dad helping his son.

The more serious crime is that the Lame Stream Media is merrily creating a climate of hatred between the Left & Right. And it´s working. Where I once only had a distaste I now openly despise the people who supported the Clintons, Obama, Lynch, Pelosi, Schumer, etc!

The liberal Democrats insinuate that everything that President Trump touches is wrong, even though it is not wrong. As the liberal Democrats know that their low information constituencies, upon whom the liberal Democrats depend upon to elect them, generally don´t have a clue as to what is right or wrong at high levels of Government discourse.

Leaks? Creative Writing? There may be leaks and anonymous sources, but there is also “creative writing” defined as, “…any writing that goes outside the bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, or technical forms of literature, typically identified by an emphasis on narrative craft, character development, and the use of literary tropes…” (Wikipedia) More simply stated, “…the exercise of creating imaginative drama, fiction…” (Dictionary.com)

When Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey goes on trial on federal corruption charges in less than three weeks, far more than his own fate hinges on the outcome. If Mr. Menendez, a Democrat, is convicted and then expelled from the United States Senate by early January, his replacement would be picked by Gov. That scenario — where Mr. Menendez’s interim replacement would more than likely be a Republican — would have immediate and far-reaching implications: The Republicans would be gifted a crucial extra vote just

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Sunday gave a strong endorsement to the movement for removing monuments to leaders of the Confederacy and called for the electoral college to be abolished. Speaking at the Islamic Center of Southern California, Jackson blamed the electoral college system, giving disproportionate influence to less populated states, for the 2000 and 2016 loss of Democratic presidential candidates Al Gore and Hillary Clinton despite their winning the popular vote. “Today we are looking at a structural problem,” Jackson said. “These monuments must go. Calling for the audience to repeat, he said, “Say the monuments and the flags

WASHINGTON — The Secret Service can no longer pay hundreds of agents it needs to carry out an expanded protective mission – in large part due to the sheer size of President Trump´s family and efforts necessary to secure their multiple residences up and down the East Coast. Secret Service Director Randolph "Tex´´ Alles, in an interview with USA TODAY, said more than 1,000 agents have already hit the federally mandated caps for salary and overtime allowances that were meant to last the entire year. The agency has faced a crushing workload since the height of the contentious election season, and it

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) has revealed that during the 2016 presidential campaign, House Speaker Paul Ryan told him and his fellow Republicans to give up on Donald Trump´s campaign and just focus their energy on keeping "President Hillary Clinton accountable." According to Ryan, the Republicans had no chance at the White House, so at the very least they should try to retain their House majority. The directive came during a conference call, Gohmert told The Daily Caller in a video interview and then confirmed again during his appearance on "Fox & Friends" Sunday. The Texas Republican, as you can imagine, was not

The eclipse that occurred over Chicago led thousands to the beaches and streets, where they gasped and cried out as the sun partially disappeared. For WGN meteorologist Tom Skilling, it was an especially awe-inspiring event. The famed meteorologist hugged and high-fived people around him and wept as the eclipse occurred Monday afternoon. "Oh, my word," Skilling said. "Wow. This is amazing. What do you think of this, this?" At another point, he told viewers, "I´ll get my act together, guys." His voice cracking, Skilling apologized for his tears. Skilling´s heartfelt reaction earned him praise from fans:

Thanks to Monday´s solar eclipse, disastrous traffic jams have been taking over the country these last few days. And as folks leave the first coast-to-coast solar eclipse since 1918, the U.S. Department of Transportation estimated that nearly two-thirds of the nation´s resident live withing a day´s drive of the path of totality. And with Oregon being the first to see the eclipse, it and neighboring state Washington are experiencing the worst bouts of the traffic jams. ´This is the biggest transportation event that has ever hit Oregon,´ Dave Thompson, a spokesman for the Oregon Department of Transportation told AP. Trust in the mass media is at an all-time low. Two-thirds of Americans believe the mainstream press publishes fake news. Yes, there’s still much good journalism to be found, if you know where to look. Yet, ask reporters who’ve been around a while, and many will tell you that a lot of good journalism is being left unpublished. Good journalists hate what’s happening to the news. We have only ourselves to blame. Firewalls that once strictly separated news from opinion have been replaced by hopelessly blurred lines. Once-forbidden practices such as editorializing within straight news reports, and the inclusion of opinions as if
