Trump Removes Anthony Scaramucci
From Communications Director Role

New York Times, by Maggie Haberman*

Original Article

WASHINGTON — President Trump has decided to remove Anthony Scaramucci from his position as communications director, three people close to the decision said Monday, relieving him just days after Mr. Scaramucci unloaded a crude verbal tirade against other senior members of the president’s senior staff. (Snip) The decision to remove Mr. Scaramucci, who had boasted about reporting directly to the president not the chief of staff, John F. Kelly, came at Mr. Kelly’s request, the people said. Mr. Kelly made clear to members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he is in charge. It was not

Comments:
Wow. That didn´t take long. FNC just reported this as well so it´s not some BS from the NYT.

Wow. Well -- Scaramucci was kind of entertaining but it was obvious there was going to be a huge "this is how we do things" clash between him and General Kelly. And it was obvious he had no clue how to interact with the media -- he ranted wildly to a liberal journalist at the New Yorker without going off record!

Gotta say I´m glad it sounds like there is a grownup in charge. Good luck to you Gen. Kelly.

My bet is that Kelly took a look around and recommended that the loose cannon be jettisoned before it smashed up anything else.

What a pity for all the talented actors auditioning to play the Mooch on Saturday Night Live. At least we have one Comedy Central skit.

Wonder if it was the threats to kill people or the hurling of slanderous ad hominem insults that ended his communications career? What a disaster. This will be in journalism textbooks, I promise.

Hiring Kelly is the right path for this WH and he has obviously said he is not taking the job if he has to referee all the huuuuge personalities.

Get some more like him in there and we might be able to get on to important things.

...give Trump credit for a good choice in Kelly and more importantly, listening and taking decisive action when realizing a mistake has been made...

...the media will make more of it than necessary if only to distract from the reporting real news suck as the IT Democratic scandals...

A great move. Very reassuring, and likely to save Trump´s presidency in the long run. Making Gen. Kelly the WH Chief of Staff was a brilliant move. It´s not just "an adult in charge", it´s a smart, tough, organized, and respected adult in charge.

I fully expect the ongoing nonsense to cease at last.

Good question #11.

This guy, Scaramucci, looked like a bad dude from the start. When you begin on day one bragging about how important you are and torquing off your fellow staff members, you best be counting your days which are sure to be numbered.

Having lost his high profile position, which would allow him access to press cameras any time he wanted, he will likely leave soon. No cameras, no glory, no mooch!

Anything General John F. Kelly does is okay by me. Compare and contrast to the positively awful people that Obama had, e.g. Susan Rice and many others, who would tell substantive lies, and still be kept on. Come to think of it, Janet Reno spent 8 years as Clinton´s AG, even after the positively shameful and wholly unnecessary tragedy in Waco in which dozens of children died.

In the corporate world, NOBODY, and one means NOBODY, is indispensable.

In the world of sewer Washington politics, EVERYBODY is untouchable; one gives you all the criminals slithering over eight years infesting the WH/Congress, both sides of the aisle as proof positive.

Enter The Donald.

Welcome to managing Washington as one would a corporation.

Unless we hear it from other than the NYT anonymous sources, I am not buying it just yet. Since when have either Fox or the NYT told us the truth when it comes from their anonymous sources?

Having said that, it would not surprise me, simply because he is a vulgarian who cannot control his mouth. Trump has enough on his plate, without having to clean up after this guy. Or it could be that Trump doesn´t want this guy´s soon to be Ex causing problems.

My first impression is a little different. Scaramucci played the part of the hired gun. He had a specific job to accomplish and is no longer needed.

Obviously, President Trump wanted Rince and Repeat gone and replaced with General Kelly, and he also needed Spicer to go with Rince. They were a two-for-one deal from the beginning. The Mooch was brought in to make Spicer’s position untenable forcing him to resign at the same time Rince got his pink slip.

Another aspect of Mooch’s short tenure was to move the media message off “Russia, Russia, Russia” and give a forceful warning to the leakers and their compatriots in the enemedia.

Mooch’s meme about reporting directly to President Trump then sets up the perfect reason for his removal, now that the dirty work has been done. This also consolidates General Kelly’s power base as Chief of Staff, and puts the fear of Trump in both his appointments and holdover Dhim operatives.

In the Time of Trump things are not always what they appear.

Loved how at ease he was in the very beginning, but his filthy language was totally inappropriate, and I was hoping Trump wouldn´t let that slide. Unacceptable. Chain of command very important in military, and Kelly doesn´t suffer fools or upstarts gladly. The surgeon I work with is Air Force, now in reserves, and consistency and order is expected. Kelly is exactly what is needed,

Scaramucci and his mouth were "low hanging fruit". Now for the tougher job to move out Ivanka, Jared, Gary, possibly Steve, and other Goldman-Sachs alumni.

Ivanka and Jared are family, of course, and Steve is tied to the President´s base. It won´t be easy, but it must be done for President Trump to finally have a coherent, functional, and "smooth sailing" ship.

The barnacles must be scraped from the hull, and I´m not talking about Mike.

Ten points to President Trump for firing Tony the Mooch (or for letting Kelly do it) but minus a hundred points for hiring the bum in the first place.

Potty mouth doesn´t belong on a communications director´s resume.

You don´t mess with a Marine general - if he´s there, you know who´s in charge.

Reminds me of another general the Corps had in the ´50´s and ´60´s - Victor Krulak. He was 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighed 135 pounds soaking wet, and his nickname was "Brute". When he looked at a situation that needed cleaning up, he would comment "this place needs an enema!" Things got cleaned up pretty quick after that.

Sounds like Gen. Kelly is cast from the same mold.

No personal accounts permitted, just gushing stupidity. None of this should be happening, in and out the door, petty smut put on display. It´s getting ridiculous.

Nothing gets done internally when you have staff nipping at the heels of other staff - I worked in a Gov´s office, pre-social media. It was bad enough then.

I have no social media accounts because of my family members´ security clearances and jobs. Find them invasive, data collecting black holes - but I understand why some people do - and for businesses, but you are giving up the ghost there on personal accounts, and it will haunt you. Data mining is refined to a salt grain. The names of minor children on a street and all they like, what their parents do, make, hate, like. A salt grain.

Gen Kelly - a man who lost a son in war in 2010 - is not one to put up with petty .... you know...your perspective changes when the world is still falling apart. For real. You lost your blood and soul on the battlefield...and all the staff can do is play power games for all the world to see on stupid social media platforms. How can you not want this to cease immediately? Egos, check them at the door.

It is childish, and someone needs to stop all of it now. Should be Gen Kelly, though I know even he is overwhelmed by the magnitude of his previous role.

Trump alluded to hidden devices in the walls as the GSA resumed work that was delayed by Obama on the West Wing. Gold in the walls..was found. Obama put it there to begin with as they "upgraded security and technology" they said ..think of what could be collected.

As always, #29 has it figured out. General Kelly will be magnificent as POTUS#45´s Chief of Staff. As for Smuuchi, he certainly was interesting to watch, coming in as Michael Corleone and going out as Sonny Corleone --but he accomplished his sole task, and goes back to NYC singing "My Way."

Pardon me, but there´s an elephant in the room that we´re all ignoring. What does this continual hiring/firing say about Trump´s judgment? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He´s got the right to get it right. But, geez, what does it say if he doesn´t learn from his past mistakes?
And another yeah, yeah, yeah: I know the stock market is through the roof and his wife wore zebra stilettos with a cream dress and looked stunning.
On The Apprentice, Trump used "poor judgment" as a reason for firing contestants. They didn´t get chance after chance after chance to get it right. I´m getting pretty weary of this constant drama.

But wait! Just read astute #29’s comment. She is usually right on and this is no exception. He had a brief, limited purpose. Anyone heard Russia since he showed up on the scene?

Glad to see someone with the maturity and mental agility to see this.

PS. I am not at all worried about President Trump’s judgement, maturity, etc. Some here seem to be dwelling on only the negative, as they did throughout the campaign while they were flying the flag for Anyone But Trump. Forced into fickle behavior, they riffled through 16 other candidates.

If they are unhappy now, they can just hug their Hillary photos and wish for what might have been…

We are not fooled.

Here´s the thing.
I spent more money, time and physical effort working to get our candidate elected and NOT Hillary than I ever have done in the past.
Nobody on this site should have to defend themselves for being frustrated with the constant drama going on with this administration. L-Dotters are entitled to a wide range of opinions or did I miss a rule change? Lashing out with inaccurate accusations is often not an effective way to get a point across... but hey, whatever.

Scaramucci’s big boost came from his getting CNN to retract a false story about him. Three of their reporters were fired.

How quickly we forget.

At some point we should get past the notion that Ivanka and Jared are somehow pulling the strings on a puppet called President Trump. Do you have adult children? Do they tell you what to do? Make “suggestions”? Do you do what they say? Always? Or do you thank them and follow your own best judgment?

President Trump is not a wimp. Neither are his kids. I imagine there have been mutual “suggestions” for many years. Only the liberal media try to make hay with it. And a few here, there and everywhere.

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by a sanctuary city in California challenging President Donald Trump’s executive order withholding grants from jurisdictions that do not cooperate with federal immigration authorities The city of Richmond, Calif., filed suit in March challenging the constitutionality of the order. U.S. District Judge William Orrick dismissed the case Monday, finding Richmond did not have standing to challenge the law. City workers in Charlottesville, Va., covered a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. A video showed the workers in Emancipation Park using rope to lower the tarp over Lee’s statue as some onlookers cheered. Charlottesville’s city council voted on Tuesday to cover the Lee statue and one of Confederate Gen. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson at another park in honor of Heather Heyer.
