Could Trump impose economic sanctions
on CHINA? Aides draw up options for
punishing country for failing to deal with Kim

Daily Mail [UK], by Francesca Chambers

President Donald Trump´s furor at China over its refusal to take on North Korea more directly could lead to economic sanctions on Beijing. White House officials told Politico that trade restrictions are on the table but nothing is set in stone. They´ll continue to discuss possible punishing actions today. Treasury had already blacklisted two Chinese nationals, a Chinese bank and a Chinese shipping company for their involvement in North Korea´s illicit weapons program. It said then that more sanctions could hit Chinese entities as part of the effort to choke off money and resources North Korea relies on to prop up its regime.

Just do it. Pre-Nixon era, U.S.A. had nothing to do with China and we did fine. Start buying Japanese or any products from our real Asian allies. That´ll cripple the Chinese economy and their military power.

It´s a bit amateur hour that his team have to sit down and figure this out. I could tell almost from the beginning that China was gaming us. Trump´s naïveté can be an advantage on occasion as far as trying new tacks but is usually just transparent to his antagonists, as in this case, I think.

Monday´s solar eclipse is already tying up traffic in areas along the path of totality, or the vein of regions along the US where people can view the full eclipse. Oregonians so far are seeing the brunt of the traffic as revelers have started pouring into central Oregon, clogging roadways and draining gas supplies in rural towns, all in hopes of catching the full splendor of this once in a lifetime celestial event. The nightmare scenario for locals in the state started emerging Wednesday when traffic backed up for 12 miles on US Highway 26 as people began to set

Professor Stephen Hawking has attacked the Conservatives over their handling of the NHS and accused Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt of ´abusing´ science to justify policies. The world renowned scientist, a lifelong Labour supporter, said Tory policies such as the public sector pay cap, imposing a new contract on junior doctors, and removing the student nurse bursary has put the NHS in crisis. He said the health service was being pulled in different directions by multinational corporations driven by profiting from NHS privatisation and the public, which favours a publicly funded health service. Eight days after the inauguration, President Donald Trump stood in the Oval Office, inside his new home. He was flanked by Vice President Mike Pence, as well as Reince Priebus, Michael Flynn, Sean Spicer, and Steve Bannon. Less than seven months later, on the heels of Trump firing Bannon after a wave of public backlash for his Charlottesville remarks, Pence is the last man standing. And that point has been made clear in a photo taken January 28 that reveals the incredible turnover of the White House staff. The picture illustrates how the Oval Office turned into Trump´s own version of The Apprentice. And

Former Vice President Al Gore has just one word of advice for President Donald Trump: ´Resign´. Gore addressed the president while promoting his new documentary, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, a follow up to his 2006 Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth. The environmental activist has long been critical of Trump, particularly for his position on climate change and his decision to pull out of the Paris Agreement earlier this year. When asked if he had any advice for the current president, Gore told Lad Bible, ´Resign´ before turning the conversation back to climate change. Just last week Gore said that Trump´s rejection

A monument to Confederate president Jefferson Davis in Arizona has been tarred and feathered. The marker honoring the Confederacy´s only president was found covered in the black tar and white feathers on Thursday near Gold Canyon, Arizona on the outskirts of Phoenix. The monument was erected in the 1940s by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. It comes amid a wave of backlash directed at Confederate monuments and simmering racial tensions nationwide, and is the second defacement of a monument in Arizona this week. ´These acts of vandalism are not an appropriate response, and it´s not how we do things in Arizona, Governor

A statue of Robert E. Lee at Duke University Chapel has been defaced. The damage to the face of the stone statue, which is one of ten adorning the entrance to the private university´s chapel in Durham, North Carolina, was discovered early Thursday. Parts of the the statue´s face, including the entire nose, appeared to have been chipped off, though officials declined to speculate on how the damage was inflicted. The vandalism comes less than a week after protesters, reacting to the violent events in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend, toppled and damaged a monument to Confederate soldiers in downtown

Shortly after the crash the Interior confirmed it as a "terrorist attack", the department tweeted: "The terrorist attack protocol has been activated". The Republican Party´s collective response to Donald Trump´s handling of the Charlottesville race riots turned uglier on Friday. Mitt Romney, the failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate and former Massachusetts governor whom Trump has bashed relentlessly for more than two years, lashed out against him on Facebook for what he said was a hamfisted message during Tuesday´s press conference – and demanded a full-throated apology from the president. A House Democrat introduced a resolution on Friday suggesting that President Trump undergo a physical and mental health exam to help determine whether he is fit for office. Rep. It posits that such an examination by doctors would “determine whether the president suffers from mental disorder or other injury that impairs his abilities and prevents him from discharging his Constitutional duties.
