Seattle´s Income Tax Brings
Out the Crazy in People

American Thinker, by Kenneth H. Ryesky

By unanimous vote, the Seattle City Council has now enacted an Income Tax ordinance imposing a tax on "high income residents,” i.e, those whose annual incomes exceed $250,000 ($500,000 for joint filers). The new legislation is largely the work of Councilwoman Kshama Sawant, an unabashed leftist and redistributionist who was elected on the Socialist Alternative party ticket, and who was a moving force behind Seattle´s ill-advised $15 per hour minimum wage. (snip)Kshama is only accepting $40,000 of her $117,000 annual salary, declaring that figure as "roughly the full-time take-home pay of a Seattleite." After paying taxes, the remainder of my salary

If these Leftists were only required to STAY in the state/jurisdiction they are in rather than ruin an area and then move on to a fine conservative area and ruin it. Ie: Calif., to Colo., Nevada, Idaho, etc. Mass. to N. H., etc.

A couple of things. First, our state constitution forbids an income tax, this tax has to be voted on by the residents of Seattle. (I say residents because there is at least one person running for mayor who has said that non-citizens should be allowed to vote) and no matter the outcome, it will be put before our state supreme court and then the Supreme Court if necessary.
Second, in Seattle a $350,000 house is not much. I have a three bedroom, two bath, built in the 50´s rambler and could probably get over $600,000 for it. (It also needs a new roof.)
Her first husband works for Microsoft, so that could be how she pays for her house. She is an unabashed ´socialist´ which really means she a marxist.
The citizens of Seattle have really become unhinged. They approve the most outlandish ideas put on the ballot. It´s simply unbelievable what is happening here.

Seattle residents need to begin planning for workplace [and public] actions as well a mass peaceful civil disobedience that shuts down highways, airports, and other key infrastructure such as the City Council. Students can organize walkouts in their schools to send a powerful message that youth reject Kshama´s caste system and demand their Constitutional property rights and the return to the rule of law.

More on this very sketchy-sounding person:

After paying taxes, the remainder of my salary will go to a Solidarity Fund to help build social justice movements. Throughout the year I will be making donations from this Solidarity Fund to causes such as workers´ strike funds, and environmental, civil rights, and women´s rights campaigns.

Some flashing red lights here:

Firstly, just what is this "Solidarity Fund" and who administers it? Is it commingled with Kshama´s regular bank accounts, and if so (and even if the excess funds are placed into a separate account over which she herself has signatory authority), are we to depend upon her self-control for assurances that she does in fact live on $40,000 per year? Where is the transparency in the Fund´s administration?

I live in Seattle and we have been under democrat/progressive/socialist control for decades. I just discover, by accident, sales tax is now 10%. I guess I must have missed the stories on the increase. Now, an unconstitutional income tax for Seattle. Is there any sane person in this state to file suit about illegal taxes? Our governor is dumb as a post, right up there with Patty Murray, our Senator, with the stinky tennis shoes, in DC. We will soon join California and Illinois and Michigan approaching bankruptcy.

Something dramatic and important happened yesterday in Boston, but the mainstream provided a counter narrative to mask the shame of it all. The media violated the normal rules of the TV news game – if it bleeds it leads and find a victim -- in order to protect the sacred resistance narrative’s presumptive good guys. The real story of yesterday is that the Boston Police there advised a small crowd of free speech advocates – nary a white supremacist among the speakers – to stop the program early and [I paraphrase] “RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!” I am sure they said it

One thing overlooked in the uproar over Charlottesville is that this was, evidently, merely a dress rehearsal for a much larger-scale effort planned for this Autumn. Activist groups on the left evidently have something big in store for November 4th. The idea seems to be a revival of the 1971 “Days of Rage” – an effort to shut down the country as a whole to force a change in government.
