President Donald Trump’s administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, believes the EPA has room to be resized in terms of budget, staffing and authorities. WASHINGTON - The White House said on Sunday that U.S. President Donald Trump was open to signing legislation toughening sanctions on Russia after Senate and House leaders reached agreement on a bill late last week. Congressional Democrats said on Saturday they had agreed with Republicans on a deal allowing new sanctions targeting Russia, Iran and North Korea in a bill that would limit any potential effort by Trump to try to lift sanctions against Moscow. "We support where the legislation is now and will continue working with the House and Senate to put those tough sanctions in place on Russia until the

The news that Southern-fried rock/rapper Kid Rock will be running for some timeserving Dem hack’s Senate seat in Michigan should make every normal American smile and spill a 40 to his homies. The future Senator Rock deserves your eager support for two critical reasons: First, it will drive the liberals insane. Second, it will make George Will and the rest of Team Fredocon soil themselves. “Kid Rock? Oh, well I never!” You simpering sissies. I’ll take his nasty stringy mop and torn wife beater over your preferred weasels’ coiffed politician/newscaster hair and Gucci loafers. No, he didn’t go to

On Friday night, Elizabeth MacDonough, the Senate parliamentarian, made damn sure that defunding of Planned Parenthood will not be part of the Senate health care bill, citing the Byrd rule to stipulate that the key provisions violated Senate rules. MacDonough advised then-Vice President Albert Gore on the procedure for counting ballots following Bush v. Gore. Senator Bernie Sanders chortled, “The parliamentarian’s decision today proves once again that the process Republicans have undertaken to repeal the Affordable Care Act and throw 22 million Americans off of health insurance is a disaster.” It is now clear the Senate’s version of a new health

The Trump administration is readying for a crackdown on marijuana users under Attorney General Jeff Sessions. President Trump’s Task Force on Crime Reduction and Public Safety, led by Sessions, is expected to release a report next week that criminal justice reform advocates fear will link marijuana to violent crime and recommend tougher sentences for those caught growing, selling and smoking the plant. Sessions sent a memo in April updating the U.S. Attorney’s Offices and Department of Justice Department (DOJ) component heads on the work of the task force, which he said would be accomplished through various subcommittees. For weeks, observers were wondering when President Donald Trump would focus on pushing recalcitrant Republicans to back a Senate bill to repeal and possibly replace Obamacare — so that Trump and GOP lawmakers could keep faith with a key campaign pledge dear to the GOP base. Wednesday, Trump seized his bully pulpit. He invited all 52 Republican senators to the White House for a lunch at which he called out Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., in a way that left no doubt among other GOP Hamlets that if they voted against Trumpcare, it could cost them their jobs. More than that,

President Trump’s new message man is already eating his own words. In his Sunday talk shows debut, the newly minted White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci continuously contradicted himself — and others in the Trump administration — as he seemed to struggle with keeping several White House stories straight. In one instance, Scaramucci caved in after one question about a statement he made and revealed his anonymous source in the middle of an interview. The source turned out to be Trump. WASHINGTON – The new White House communications director is pledging “dramatic action” to clamp down on leaks that are upsetting President Trump. “If we don’t get the leaks stopped, I am a businessperson, and so I will take dramatic action to stop those leaks,” Anthony Scaramucci told “Fox News Sunday.” Appointed Friday to lead the press shop, Scaramucci said all current staffers will have “amnesty” for past unauthorized tips to the media. Going forward, their jobs are dependent on staying quiet about any internal White House turmoil or private dealings. “If the leaks don’t stop, I’m going to pare down

VATICAN CITY — Two close associates of Pope Francis have accused American Catholic ultraconservatives of making an alliance of “hate” with evangelical Christians to back President Trump, further alienating a group already out of the Vatican’s good graces. The authors, writing in a Vatican-vetted journal, singled out Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s chief strategist, as a “supporter of an apocalyptic geopolitics” that has stymied action against climate change and exploited fears of migrants and Muslims with calls for “walls and purifying deportations.” The article warns that conservative American Catholics have strayed dangerously into the deepening political polarization in the United States. I pray this is a joke. If it is satire, The Onion should ask for permission to reprint immediately. President Trump delivered an address to law enforcement last Friday, which triggered some progressive snowflakes because he joked about our police roughing up MS-13 gang members. It was a joke. While McCain blamed past administrations for the problems in Afghanistan, he said in a statement that the lack "of successful policy and strategic guidance from Washington" had continued into

Since the election there has been an unprecedented attempt to unwind the election result. Events have accelerated on several fronts lately with attempts from outside and within to paralyze the Trump administration. What started as a collective media freakout on Election Night 2016 quickly progressed to an unprecedented attempt to intimidate Electors into changing their votes. Some Democrats announced, even before Trump took office, plans to impeach him, and Democrat politicians fed media-driven Russia collusion conspiracy theories for which they knew there was no evidence. Former First Lady Michelle Obama openly shared her disdain for life inside the White House. She even went so far as to demean it as a house “built by slaves” and that residing there was like “living in a cave.” Perhaps that has something to do with the fact the People’s House is now literally crumbling in disrepair as outlined today by the AP: Besides the replacement of the West Wing’s heating and cooling system, repairs are also to be made to the steps on the South Portico, the side of the White House facing the National Mall. Given that desire, and given the fact we have absolutely no idea when Andrew Luck might return, this next move makes so much sense, it hurts my brain just to write it: Go sign Colin Kaepernick. Go sign him now, before somebody else steps up to the plate, like a Miami Dolphins team that is now dealing with starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s knee injury. Or the Baltimore Ravens,

A bipartisan pair of senators has introduced a bill aimed at protecting Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, should President Trump decide to fire him. The bill, introduced Thursday by Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., and Chris Coons, D-Del., would allow a special counsel who is removed to challenge the firing in court. There, a three-judge panel would decide whether the special counsel´s removal was justified. If the judges decide there was no good cause for firing, the person would be reinstated as special counsel over the wishes of the president.
