How many of Trump´s French-first-

Over in tweetville, there seems to be a building Twitter-storm over something that occurred four days ago - President Trump´s compliments to France´s first lady, Brigitte Macron, on her figure. "You´re in such good shape. She´s in such good physical shape. Beautiful," Trump told the French President´s wife, who was standing next to first lady Melania Trump. They are yelling sexism, claiming sex-harassment, bellowing about commodification, claiming looks-ism -- all for the pretty innocuous remark. The president didn´t comment on her boob size, her rear end shape, what he´d like to do, what he thinks her sexual history might be, or anything

No need to insult "60-ish" women to make the point. More likely, it is the militant feminists of all ages and, of course, Trump-hating liberals who are critics of Trump´s compliment to Ms. Macron. I can´t speak for all women, but compliments are always welcome for me!

Are these the same critics that pointed out Michelles toned arms every chance they got?
Or how in shape the Wookie was? How fabulous her wardrobe?
These same people criticize a compliment to a woman over 60? Let´s just say, I have worked very hard to get back into a shape other than round, I would love acknowledgement of my hard work.

#4, I am going to picture you as looking fabulous! You get that for your hard work. I used to be super thin and now I have rounded out, all in the wrong places. There was a time when I would have cared, now I don´t give a flying flip. With me what you see is what you get. I quit smoking cold turkey after 45 years only to find the shortest route to the kitchen.
I enjoy a compliment too. I think it is mostly a friendly way of saying ´how are you? I´m glad to meet/see you.´ Everyone says it in a different way, even POTUS.
I bet our POTUS didn´t offer Mrs. Macron a cigar!

After seeing that absurdly pc Reebok "response," I am so glad I´ve never bought Reebok shoes.

Yes, Trump´s remark may have been a bit awkward. But I doubt Mrs Macron was offended; agree with the author that more likely she was secretly delighted at the compliment (which I believe I´m allowed to say, being a 6oish woman myself).

But with serious jet lag after being in the air for so long and so many times recently - he can be forgiven. He meant well and at least was being honest and complimentary.

Well, you can flame me all you want but I would be offended---just as I was when he said unjustified, uncalled for, disgusting things to Carly Fiorina. The problem is, it ages him. He´s living in the past in a time when a guy in the office could say, "Hey, baby, you´ve got a sweet fill-in-the-blank" and a woman was supposed to be thrilled with the comment.
"You´re in great shape..." for WHAT? For your age? For being an older woman? For being a woman? This type of comment is patronizing; always has been, always will be. Who is HE to judge? Who asked his opinion?
For those making excuses for his cheap behavior, let me pose the following question:
Would you excuse and praise the spouse of another world leader if she told Trump, "You´re NOT in good shape"...and would you brush it off as just being "honest?"

And I don´t know what you could say to Mme Macron, Frankly, I find her quite unattractive (wouldn´t say it at any other time, though). She isn´t very pretty and her fashion sense is scary.

The harlequin thing she was wearing last week was just one of her fashion mistakes. She has worse taste than Michelle Obama. (He might just have been frightened by what she was wearing..he IS married to Melania, after all.

But she has a great figure. I´d just be gracious and say "Merci" if Trump noticed my hard work (which it is). She obviously works on her figure, so he paid her a compliment -maybe not how I would, but he was trying to be nice.

Leave it to the libbie snowflakes to complain. Like they have the market cornered on good taste and gracious behavior...yeah.

The media-driven health & fitness craze has bombarded the world for the past few decades. As a result, there are now work-out gyms throughout this country where, ´shape,´ is everything. In light of that fad, Pres. Trumps´ compliment for the French First Lady was entirely appropriate. ...Just another, ´sign of the times.´

Sidebar: That same media ignores reporting the numbers of injuries incurred due to related accidents, improper exercise & related exercise equipment.

Rush was talking about this, I was shaking my head at the foolish stuff that people, and mostly women, it would seem, get cranked up about. Can´t compliment her? OK, Wow. This anti-PC man still compliments women when they look nice.

A female caller commented that it would have been OK if he had said "Melania and I think you are in great shape." but not OK for him to say it without bring her into it. When questioned, she said, "Well, it sounds like a come on."
I punched the off button at that point, my insanity sensor was pegged and starting to overheat, plus I needed a break from the craziness.

Wow, some people are just entirely nuts. I am glad that the women in my life are not like some of these loons.

Regulations Cut: Another Yuuuge

Regulation: It´s no accident that Washington, D.C., has become known as the graveyard of promises. It´s exceedingly rare that a promise made in the nation´s capital is a promise kept. That´s why it´s great to report that President Trump has kept a big one — to cut two regulations for every new one passed. With a month to go in the fiscal year, the American Action Forum (AAF) decided to take a hard look at Trump´s regulation-cutting pledge. Along with cutting regulations, the plan envisioned having a net new cost of regulation of $0 or less. How did Trump do? "While there have been some hiccups,

Monetary Policy: The Fed, after eight years, has finally declared its war against the financial crisis of 2007-08 is over. Like so many other wars in this nation´s history, it should have been over long ago. Now, the "Great Unwinding" begins. On Wednesday the Fed officially began its long, and no doubt eventful, process of unwinding its massive balance sheet, built up in the aftermath of the Great Recession in one of the biggest, and most misbegotten, monetary experiments in economic history, dubbed Quantitative Easing. Beginning next month, the Fed said it will begin trimming the $4.5 trillion balance sheet simply by not reinvesting

Elections: Have you noticed that even the most ardent Trump haters haven´t been pining for a Hillary Clinton presidency? In case anyone had any doubts as to why, her post-loss antics have cleared it up. In a lengthy interview with National Public Radio — one of countless she´s given to promote her 512-page finger-pointing new book — the host asked Clinton if she would "completely rule out questioning the legitimacy of this election." Millennials, through no fault of their own, have been hit the hardest over the last decade by the Great Recession, the outrageous price increases of higher education, and failing ObamaCare. Millennials have seen double-digit unemployment and a 700% increase in the cost of education since the 1990s. In today´s lopsided economy, college degree-worthy jobs have disappeared and minimum-wage and part-time employment have become the norm due to the disastrous Affordable Care Act. Millennials are left, on average, with $35,000 of student loan debt. And many are often out of work, or they´re working for the minimum

Health Reform: After nine fruitless months, Republicans have finally come up with an ObamaCare replacement plan that is simple and appealing, and that should easily pass the Senate. Will the GOP blow it again? Put together by Sens. Bill Cassidy and Lindsay Graham, the plan would take the money being spent on ObamaCare´s insurance subsidies and Medicaid expansion, and give it to states in the form of fixed block grants. States would then have wide latitude in how they spend the money — for example, they could use it to set up high-risk pools, reduce out-of-pocket costs, pay providers or
