How the U.S. Postal Service has helped turn
Amazon into a giant by undercharging
them by $1.46 a package on postage

Daily Mail [UK], by Staff

There´s a reason Amazon packages have become a common sight on front steps around the country, and that´s because the U.S. Postal Service practically subsidizes postage for the internet giant. As Josh Sandbulte, co-president of money management firm Greenhaven Associates, pointed out in the Wall Street Journal, the Postal Service has a legal monopoly to deliver first-class mail in the U.S. - in other words, non-urgent letters. In exchange, the Postal Service is required to deliver, if needed, mail to every address in America, six days a week. Since the invention of email, the amount of physical mail being sent has

As a small business owner, I always wonder when other business get government help, tax breaks, zoning variances. I never do. Maybe I´m not connected to the right people. Or the left ones.

Isn´t this like an instant refund of $1.46 on my Income Taxes for every package I get delivered by USPS? I´m not sure I figure this is a problem!

The costs of delivering a package has no doubt been figured out to within less than a dime so if the USPS ups the cost by an average of $1.46 then there is no logical reason for the USPS to be in the package business. Then the logical result of cutting out this business need is that the USPS business goes furthur down the tubes and First Class mail then goes up $1.46. How about paying nearly $2.00 for stamps on a first class letter?

So, government subsidies allow this leftist to crush bricks and mortar stores.

If I was a bricks and mortar store, I would be hopping mad, and on the phone to my Congressman and Senators.

This is wrong.

Amazon Prime has drivers deliver packages from Amazon "fulfillment centers" and that isn´t through the USPS.

The fact that these drivers place items inside my mailbox is a felony that Bezos´ Boyz routinely violate, however.

Lately I´ve seen USPS trucks delivering packages in the neighborhood on Sundays. Is this part of the Amazon delivery subsidy? I wonder if the postal workers are getting extra pay for Sunday work.

If Amazon contracts for a certain high level of business, it´s not unreadable for the USPS to offer a discount.

A perfect storm of climatic conditions turned Hurricane Irma into the monster that is currently wreaking havoc on the Caribbean and headed for the US mainland. Unusually warm ocean water in the Atlantic, high atmospheric pressure and weak wind shear have combined to fuel the category five tropical cyclone. Wind speeds of 250 kph were recorded as it hit land in Barbuda yesterday morning, before instruments broke. With ocean winds reaching sustained speeds of 183 mph (295 kph), this makes Irma the strongest storm to ever form over the Atlantic. For Irma to not only gain its strength but subsequently

Hillary Clinton’s “What Happened” reads like a therapy session in which the losing presidential candidate works through the five stages of grief in real time. Among her many laments? “I don’t think the press did their job,” as she tells Vox’s Ezra Klein.
