Loose pit bulls that bit two people

ST. PETERSBURG — Three pit bulls, which bit two people earlier this month, are scheduled to be euthanized. Officials with Pinellas County Animal Services determined those pit bulls — among five that big two people on July 3 at a residence at 2104 21st St. S. — have been classified as dangerous. Five pit bulls had gotten out of the home through open windows that had no screens, according to St. Petersburg Police. Before authorities arrived, the dogs had already bitten Robin Macon, 62, multiple times. She was hospitalized with severe injuries. The dogs also bit Laquanda Butler, 52, on the leg. First, I am an animal lover, would hate to hurt a dog, BUT in this circumstance with multiple pit bulls biting, they would have been euthanized right then, right there.

Any dog that has any trace of Pit Bull in its blood needs to be removed from this earth. They are killing machines with no other purpose.

mark me as one who strongly believes that ANY loose-running dog should be shot on sight. And I´d be OK with doing the same to the owner. Automatically. Starting right here.
And likewise, mark me as one who would cheerfully dump truckloads of "doggy-do" on the usual choir of those who claim that pits aren´t inherently vicious. If they weren´t, dope dealers wouldn´t keep them around.

at a much earlier age, I used to do semi-long bicycle rides, 10-20 miles or so. I can´t count the number of times that I was attacked by loose-running dogs in rural and suburban regions. I knew people of like mind who had been injured, some severely, in similar encounters. And these were encounters on public roads. I also know of hikers and joggers who´ve had similar encounters, and the offenders are often repeat offenders.

Scheduled to be euthanized? Is there an appeals process? Waiting for a call from the Governor?
A friend told me about the time he accidentally backed his tractor over his dog. The dog was not feeling well. He reached down to help it and got bit really bad. With the other hand, he pulled his weapon and euthanized on the spot. (and I don´t think that was the dog´s name)

Hate vicious and/or dangerous dogs. But I remember as a kid I was riding my bicycle with clothes pins attached to the wheels to make noise. A collie ran up to me and started barking and snarling as I petaled down the street. But when I would stop it would wag its tail and I petted it. Of course, there is no excuse for pit bulls. They have massive power in their jaws and it´s not like being bitten by Toto. Send all pit bulls to North Korea.

How about euthanizing the owner of the dogs? And #2, you´re sounding like one of the snowflakes on the left. Pit bulls were bred to guard children. It´s the owners that raise them to be mean, as you can with any breed. Yes, the ones that attack humans (which counters their nature) need to be euthanized, but get a grip.

Actually, #2, while no particular pit bull fan (I think they are very ugly dogs), I have had friends with pit bulls who were friendly. I have also played with a big friendly Rotweiler, head as big as a basketball, literally. A huge part is how the dog is raised, but having more than one can trigger pack behavior, which is way, way dangerous.

The scariest dog I ever ran across was a big male Doberman pinscher. That dog was a killing machine, fortunately well trained.

Thank you #5 and #7. I am the owner of a pit bull and she is the sweetest dog we´ve ever hado. She cuddles with our greyhounds, our cats and even gets on well with horses. It´s not the dog. It´s the owners. Any breed of dog can be made vicious and mean by being mistreated by it´s owners. I have only been bitten once and it was a miniature daschund whose owner was a complete arse.

ST. PETERSBURG — Mayoral candidate Paul Congemi has made national news for a racial tirade at Tuesday’s mayoral forum when he told supporters of International People´s Democratic Uhuru Movement-affiliated candidate Jesse Nevel to “go back to Africa.” In the midst of a question about opportunities for youth in the city, Congemi veered off topic in a bizarre way: “Mr. Nevel, you and your people, you talk about reparations. The reparations that you talk about, Mr. Nevel, your people already got your reparations," Congemi said. The Daily Mail rushes in where others fear to tread, so take this story with a grain of salt. Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor and his lawyer have refused to explain why Noor shot Justine Damond, in a case that has reverberated around the world. But the Daily Mail claims to have interviewed Noor’s friends. Somewhat to my amazement, they allegedly say that Noor did it on purpose: "Killer policeman Mohamed Noor has said he was ‘startled’ by his victim Justine Damond seconds before he opened fire." Venezuela´s ruling Chavistas want to drop all pretense of democracy and turn their country into a full-blown Cuba-style tyranny. They´re doing it with a bogus Chicago-politics-only-filthier-style fake referendum on July 30 with rigged votes, whose only certainty is its outcome. They would have us believe that people willingly vote themselves into slavery. That´s what all of Venezuela´s recent gigantic protests have been about – see Javier Caceres´s firsthand account from Caracas that ran at American Thinker here – and don´t imagine that the Trump administration hasn´t been watching closely. One of the less-discussed stories this week was that a consortium of traditionally published newspapers was starting to lobby for some sort of arrangement to break the "digital duopoly" of Facebook and Google on digital content. In this Ars Technica article, they point to the (recently renamed) News Media Alliance, which wants the U.S. government to relax antitrust restrictions so that the Alliance can negotiate with the Google-Facebook "duopoly." There´s no question that the Internet has changed the whole ecological balance of the way news is presented and published. We´ve been writing about those changes for close to ten years here
