Bungled Collusion Is Still Collusion

Donald Trump Jr.’s e-mails discredit the ‘nothingburger’ argument the president’s supporters have been advancing for months. The Russia scandal has entered a new phase and there’s no going back. For six months, the White House claimed that this scandal was nothing more than innuendo about Trump-campaign collusion with Russia in meddling in the 2016 election. Innuendo for which no concrete evidence had been produced. Yes, there were several meetings with Russian officials, some only belatedly disclosed. But that is circumstantial evidence at best. Meetings tell you nothing unless you know what happened in them. We didn’t. Some of these were

If any Democrat had done this we´d be screaming bloody murder. (Crickets). Oh well, at least it´s not a Hillary administration. Small comfort. Meanwhile Mike Pence is polishing his "Our long national nightmare is over" speech.

The doctor continues to disappoint. If only he would direct his dyspepsia where it rightfully belongs in bringing the Clinton crime family to justice. They are the real players with the "Russians".

...I too have been disappointed with the Dr. this past week and bemused by the hypocrisy voiced by many others on the subject...

...having read through the email chain myself, I sense a con being set up with Don Jr...

...knowing what we do now about the lady in question, and how she was being presented in the emails, the delays and excuses, "set-up" comes to mind...

...Junior´s sin was thinking he could do something that pleased his father, quickly realizing there was nothing there and moving on...

...all of this took place a year ago, long before the election. I bet that if Trump had been leading in the polls, THOSE BEHIND creating this meeting, would have made a point of letting it be known then...

...at this point of the "Russian narrative" attack, they´re grasping to hang on to it. The real collusion we dealing with is that between the media and the "resistors" who are working overtime to cripple this administration. The "Cold Civil War"...

It was never about innuendo. It was always specifically that Hillary lost because someone obtained DNC and Podesta emails and gave them to Wikileaks. That´s what the entire US intel report was about. That Hillary offended Putin in 2011, so he wanted her to lose. It´s in the report. The emails resulted in many twitter messages--as stated in a US Senate hearing--so voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin allegedly heard about twitter messages, which caused Hillary to lose the election.

Exactly one year ago, FBI Director Comey told the nation that while Hillary Clinton acted recklessly by using an unsecured private email server for all 4 years as SofS, she didn´t do so with criminal intent. He never explained what Clinton´s intent was in keeping her emails off of the highly secured State Dept system as required by federal laws . Nor did Comey explain why Clinton had thousands of these emails, all government property, erased. Nor did he mention at this July 2016 meeting that he was told by AG Lynch to only describe the FBI criminal investigation as a "matter". Nor did Comey, after a 16 month FBI investigation, mention anything about the enormous amounts of Russian money that flowed to the Clintons for decisions Hilllary made as SofS. Yet, a 20 minute meeting where nothing is exchanged (or erased) by Trump Jr, who did not take an oath of office, is "collusion"with Russia? Krauthammer is as mad as the rest of the media when it comes to PDT.

Part of the reason Trump won was was because people are fed-up with the filthiness of modern-day Washington and the criminality of the Clintons, etc. This is a case of a Washington-style conservative getting in the weeds of outrage about inside baseball. When Krauthammer, his good buddy George Will and the rest of the Washington establishment go after the Clintons for their varied and lucrative dealings with foreign powers, maybe then I´ll care. Meanwhile, the national press corps, which anticipated a Hillary win and prepared oodles of ink, paper and business plans for for inevitable scandals, can stop pretending Donald Trump is as compromised as their darling and use their resources to cover real news. For instance, last week NK was possibly going to nuke Alaska. I´d like to follow THAT story.

Collusion is, what?, like robbing a bank? What collusion was there? The lawyer is plainly a confidant/buddy of many Dems which makes this look more like a sting or a set up... one that was sussed out and cut off quickly. DT Jr was not officially in the campaign and DT had yet to win the nomination making this a private citizen talking with someone. Are we saying that conversations are regulated now? Must have official approval now? Must, if nothing comes of it, get recorded, noted, reported, and publicized?

I think that this should get every bit as much coverage as the Donks trading info with the Estonian intelligence people. Or Brennan, who had been a government official, getting secrets from Brit intelligence (and publicizing and using them) to help Hillary.

Come to think of it: Keep pillorying Junior. But do the same to Hillary, Brennan, et al.

Poor Charles, willing to attack a vigorous successful leader simply because his son, not a member of his campaign, choose to take a meeting promising some information about the transparently criminal Hillary Clintoon.

Frankly, what does it matter the source of the information if indeed it is verifiably true? Suppose a UK representative came to someone on the Trump team and said "Here is absolute verifiable proof that Hillary Clinton carried out criminal acts.". Would it matter that the information of a crime came from a foreign source. Many of the Clintoon Crime Family actions were carried out with foreign representatives. A crime is a crime.

Yet Charles would apparently say, "STOP, you are a foreigner. I can´t listen to you!". In Heaven´s name, why?

The only burden on the Trump team would be to verify the information through other sources. If unverifiable, bury it as trash.

Sorry Charles, evidence is evidence, despite it´s source.

Hey Krauthammer, take a minute and look up the definition of ´Collude´. It is ´Tp come to a secret understanding for a harmful purpose´. Coming to an understanding would mean offering the Russians some concession in return. There was never any of that. A ´Harmful Purpose´ would imply injustice. Providing Trump with evidence concerning Hillary´s crimes is not injustice. By your warped definition, I ´collude´ with the National Enquirer when I read the headlines while waiting in line at the supermarket.

#4, #11:

Collusion: Law. a secret understanding between two or more persons to gain something illegally, to defraud another of his or her rights, or to appear as adversaries though in agreement.

So yes, "collusion" is, by definition, is illegal. However, is seeking to obtain hurtful information on a political opponent "collusion"?

If it is, then what the blazes was the Democratic Party, all its candidates, and Hillary up to the past couple of years and what are they doing now?

No, collusion is not in itself illegal. Mother Theresa colluded with her sisters to feed the poor. Krauthammer swings and misses here, as most of the media do. They are focused on the "who" and not the "what." Krauthammer seems to think the crime is colluding with a Russian, but the question remains: colluding for what purpose. The purpose of getting dirt on Hillary is not illegal. Nor is it interfering with or hacking the election.

For years Americans read about Charlie Trie & Co. (B Clinton) and the non-existent resultant legal actions brought against Clinton; the mass of foreign debit cash cards used from foreign IP´s to donate an absolute fortune to Obama´s 2008 campaign, followed by no investigation by the FEC although the FEC had the information and the msm ignored it; the outright collusion between the HRC campaign and the Ukraine which received a thousandth of the press coverage of Russia/Trump...

Frankly, hearing all this about the email chain, the 20 minute meeting (which JKushner had the good sense to walk out of in ~5 minutes) set up by a Brit with some Russian private, not government, lawyer, and I am just astonished that anyone with sense would even consider this news, (and "Love it" is a far cry from saying "I will give you this for that". To be collusion, the two sides must collude, which never happened).

This goes far beyond a double standard. It´s as if all rules and laws only exist for Republicans to follow. Democrats may simply ignore them, and they do.

This seems so clearly a case of Wag the Dog that I can´t understand why everyone doesn´t see it. Wag the Dog is a political diversion technique ---usually accomplished by creating a big story that will dominate the media. That story was "Russian collusion" and it began right after the election.
The media has dutifully kept the drumbeat going and driven it to a fevered pitch claiming "growing concerns about treason and impeachment." The result is now we have Mueller and his goon squad running endlessly in the background.
We have been led to believe that the media and the left didn´t have their smoking gun until NOW. We´re supposed to believe that they just NOW conveniently learned about the Trump Jr meeting.
But what if things didn´t happen in that order? What if they HAD their smoking gun (proof that Jr met with the Russians) for the past YEAR and just kept quiet about it? What if when Trump was lured with dirt on Hillary, the same British tabloid writer ALSO told Hillary that Trump was being lured? Or what if Hillary herself hatched the plot to dangle dirt in Trump´s face because she knew he couldn´t resist sensationalism? What if when Donald Jr attended the meeting HILLARY knew AT THE TIME he attended? What if the left had their smoking gun THEN and what if they were overjoyed when Jr predictably did not disclose the meeting? Could that be a set up? This scenario would´ve given the left and the media a full year to whip up a frenzy, demand a special prosecutor, and eventually oust Trump.
There´s no way the smoking gun was JUST coincidentally found--- conveniently providing "proof"of alleged collusion. Think about it. They didn´t pursue the Russia meme for a year unless they knew they had some kind of documentation or evidence of collusion.

Let’s review a few recent developments. Last week, Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, resigned. This was part of a “White House shakeup” to get the Trump administration back on track. The new communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, would fix the White House’s “messaging problem.” Within 24 hours of Scaramucci’s appointment, the president returned to Twitter and unloaded another torrent of political bombshells, including talking about his power to pardon, even as his attorneys were denying that Donald Trump was thinking about pardoning anyone.

President Donald Trump has been attacking his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, daily. There have been brutal attacks on Twitter, in media interviews, and during speeches. Conventional wisdom is that Trump is getting ready to fire Sessions or hoping Sessions resigns. Conventional wisdom also assured everyone that Hillary Clinton would win in a landslide, the only question being by how large a margin. Trump´s complaint is that his attorney general should not have recused himself from the Russia hacking hoax and that he is dragging his feet on long overdue investigations and prosecutions: Deep State leaks; unmasking; DNC and Clinton collusion

WASHINGTON -- The senator who was defeated by President Obama in his 2008 quest for the White House stepped in to cast the deciding vote to kill Senate Republicans´ last-gasp effort to repeal Obama´s signature healthcare legislation before the summer recess. Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) were expected to vote against the "skinny repeal" -- a bare-bones repeal of only the individual and employer mandates as well as the medical device tax; the latter has drawn bipartisan criticism over the years. Vice President Mike Pence was at the Capitol, ready to cast a tie-breaking vote as he had to
