American soldiers will lead the military parade on France´s Bastille Day on Friday, marching down the famous Champs-Elysées in Paris with both President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron in observance. Nearly 200 American troops assigned to units in Europe and the 1st Infantry Division based at Fort Riley, Kansas will partake in the ceremony to commemorate the centennial of the United States entering World War I, according to the Department of Defense. It is fitting that troops from the 1st Infantry Division will be marching because It was troops of the 1st Division that marched through Paris on the way to the front in 1917.

Glad to see this.

France is owed a deep debt for the critical assistance from Lafayette, Rochambeau and De Grasse, without which we certainly would have not beaten the British - especially De Grasse preventing Cornwallis from being rescued from the Yorktown peninsula by the British Navy.

It was Lafayette, returned to the battlefield several months of recuperation from a wound, who initially trapped Cornwallis on the peninsula and managed to get Washington and Rochambeau´s much larger armies to close the trap before it was discovered how relatively weaker his forces were than Cornwallis´.

We paid large installments in 1917 and 1944, but, still, we would not be a free country if it were not for some great Frenchmen helping us in our time of dire need.

I have personally thanked a few French naval officers that I met, and will do it again if the opportunity presents itself.

Why in the world would the mainstream media continue to take James Clapper seriously? In March the former Director of National Intelligence under President Barack Obama appeared on Meet the Press to respond to President Donald Trump‘s now-infamous tweets regarding a “wiretap” related to his campaign during the Obama Administration. Host Chuck Todd asked Clapper point-blank whether any wiretap had occurred: But I will say that, for the part of the national security apparatus that I oversaw as DNI, there was no such wiretap activity mounted against– the president elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his

You have probably heard that Nancy Pelosi was confronted yesterday by a gaggle of honking DREAMers of the kind she had staged an event to support. The DREAMers disrupted the event with a bit of the takeover theater to which we have grown accustomed, if not inured. The video (below) cries out for a title — the first that occurred to me was Discreet Charm of the DREAMers — and Pelosi thought bubbles. I find it hard to project myself into Pelosi’s mind. I think of her humming the tune of “Imagine” and singing to herself, “You may say that they’re dreamers…” Or thinking, “Hey, the revolution is supposed to devour its

"This was the best speech of the Trump presidency, in my view," Bolton said. "I think he was as clear and direct as it´s possible to be." The 2017 Emmys Awards ceremony wasted no time getting political during Sunday’s opening segment, as host Stephen Colbert and friends made political jokes within the very first minute — and Colbert quickly accused President Trump of treason. The Big Idea: If I had to stock Hillary Clinton’s new memoir in a bookstore, I’d be tempted to place it in a section on self-help or bereavement. “What Happened” was quickly strip-mined for political nuggets after its publication last Tuesday. As I went through it over the weekend, though, what struck me most was how the wounded Democrat coped after her crushing defeat last November. In short, Clinton has read voraciously and eclectically — for escape, for solace and for answers. The collection of works that she cites across 494 pages showcases a top-flight intellect and would make for a compelling graduate school seminar.

Climate change poses less of an immediate threat to the planet than previously thought because scientists got their modelling wrong, a new study has found. New research by British scientists reveals the world is being polluted and warming up less quickly than 10-year-old forecasts predicted, giving countries more time to get a grip on their carbon output. (Snip) The discrepancy means nations could continue emitting carbon dioxide at the current rate for another 20 years before the target was breached, instead of the three to five predicted by the previous model. “When you are talking about a budget of 1.5
