Donald Trump Jr. was within his rights

The saying in the Watergate days was that “it’s not the crime but the cover-up.” These days, you don’t need a crime or a cover-up to trigger outsized political outrage, just a heavy dose of bad optics. The latest hyperventilating from the anti-Trump crowd is over a chain of emails from June 3-8, 2016 between Donald Trump Jr. and music producer Rob Goldstone. Goldstone was acting as an intermediary to set up a meeting between Trump and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya. I´m sure others have already weighed in regarding previously posted articles on this topic but what campaign in the history of the United States, when offered damaging information pertaining to their opponent answers by a "no thanks?" Seriously how does anybody think this works?

Obama opened sealed divorce records to discover Jack Ryan wanted kinky sex with his wife. He was going to say no thanks to a bombshell dropped in his lap? Hillary ran smear campaigns on her husbands sex abuse victims and illegally absconded with FBI files to have dirt on her husbands political adversaries, she´s the stand up guy who would say nope, don´t want the gift, I´m good, no thanks? The Clintons of Sandy Berger wardrobe augmentation via stolen archives, scrubbed server, destroyed Blackberrys would have said no thanks?

We are being asked to accept the absurd.

At this point who is to say that if during the meeting the Russian lawyer would have laid out incriminating information from the Russian Government concerning Hillary Clinton that Trump Jr., would not have made that information available to the FBI. It would have been no skin off Trump Jr., teeth to do that, other then Comey might have deep-sixed it, as the Trump Campaign could still have made such derogatory information concerning Hillary public at the time and place of their choosing, just as a portion of the media would have, claiming that the American people had a right to know.

Since there was no such information given to Trump Jr., it appears that the Democrats and some Never-Trump Republicans have their wagons in front of the horses on this caper. They should call that Rob Goldstone to publically testify before the congressional committees as of course the American people have a right to know why he mislead Trump Jr.

Democrats PAID a one-time British spy to dig up ´Russian dirt´ on Trump.... the bulk of which apparently turned out to be salacious garbage...... but THAT is OK!

Impeachment talk in the nation´s capital rose from a murmur to a dull roar in mid-May, thanks to a week jam-packed with Nixonesque "White House horrors." On Tuesday, May 9, President Donald Trump summarily fired FBI director James Comey; on Thursday, Trump admitted the FBI investigation into "this Russia thing"—attempts to answer questions about his campaign´s links with Moscow—was a key reason for the firing; Friday found Trump warning Comey he´d "better hope that there are no ´tapes´ of our conversations"; and the following Tuesday The New York Times reported the existence of a Comey memo on Trump´s efforts to

John McCain’s blood clot, which caused Republican Senate leadership to suspend formal consideration of Obamacare replacement, isn’t by far the Grand Old Party’s gravest malady. Nothing in the diagnostic manual of political afflictions compares with the near-complete disappearance of the party’s backbone. If it’s not one thing causing GOP senators and governors to equivocate on the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, it’s something else: Medicaid expansion vs. Medicaid contraction; cheaper vs. costlier insurance policies; eligibility for coverage of pre-existing conditions; contraception coverage; etc. Meanwhile a united Democratic Senate bloc watches with ill-disguised amusement. This is how you get things done in an

Mitch McConnell no doubt breathed a sigh of relief when John McCain’s surgery gave him an excuse to postpone a vote on the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA). Now that Senators Rand Paul and Susan Collins have made it abundantly clear that no concession or reasonable argument will persuade them to do the right thing on Obamacare, every remaining GOP Senator has to support BCRA in order to get the bill passed. And it was by no means certain that McConnell had enough votes to accomplish that even with McCain present. Why? The GOP has become the party of poltroons.

In an early morning tweet, President Trump slammed Democrats for spreading Russian propaganda, namely the broadcast of the controversial “British dossier.” Trump levied the accusation in response to the media firestorm over his son’s admission of meeting with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign. Trump is correct to say that many of my fellow Democrats have used the document as proof of Trump’s collusion with the Russian government. For example, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., assured Americans that the document was “absolutely true” while Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., announced that he hoped to talk to the British spy who wrote

Overreach. President Trump seems to have an uncanny knack for provoking it in his opponents and critics. This often hurts him and the country. But it has the potential to hurt those doing the overreach as well. Start with Trump´s speech in Warsaw last week. "As the Polish experience reminds us," he said after recounting in vivid detail how Poland rebounded from decades of horrors, "The defense of the West ultimately rests not only on means, but also on the will of its people to prevail. The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive." Vitriolic

Congress returns from the Fourth of July break with many accomplishments on the regulatory front but with a healthcare reform bill languishing in Senate. Beltway Democrats like Elizabeth Warren can barely contain their glee at what they perceive as a difficult pace of change. But their euphoria is misplaced. I believe Congress will pass health reform and tax reform for one simple reason: The American people don´t want resistance. They want results. Democrats are oddly convinced they are winning when they keep losing. In the four post-Trump special elections Democrats are 0 for 4. That is not momentum. That is failure.

Last week, a Politico/Morning Consult poll on President Trump’s proposed travel ban on visitors from six predominantly Muslim countries revealed a somewhat surprising discovery: 60 percent of voters agreed with Trump’s proposed ban. That includes 56 percent of independents and even 41 percent of Democrats. The plan, however, has a distinct advantage: It’s the only idea on the table. What’s the alternative to the ban from the left? What’s the plan to stop terrorist attacks? Literally nothing. Every time there’s a deadly attack, liberals rush to downplay the dead bodies as just a regular part of life and not take any action lest

Most of the people following the macabre case of Charlie Gard were relieved when the British hospital holding the child hostage decided to let the 11-month old live until it has conferred with Perfidious Albion’s High Court. In a statement issued Friday, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) added that it had condescended to inform Charlie’s parents of the decision, “and will continue to keep them fully appraised of the situation.” In a sane world most observers would shout, “What in Hell does the court system have to do with this kid’s care and why are his parents treated as bystanders?

President Trump landed in Poland to an enthusiastic welcome, and he responded in kind. In the best statement yet of his foreign policy, Trump showed a clear-eyed recognition of the threats from Russia and radical Islam, promised continued U.S. engagement in Europe, offered to support Poland against Moscow, and wrapped it all in a full-throated defense of Western civilization and its achievements. The makeover comes as Subway´s sales have fallen for four straight years amid competition from places including Jimmy John´s and Firehouse Subs. Since 2012, Subway´s average annual sales per store are down 13 percent

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has been accused of “slut-shaming” female players after introducing a new dress code that forbids plunging necklines, leggings or revealing skirts on the course. Reactions to the move by golf’s governing body have been overwhelmingly against it, with Teen Vogue, the influential youth magazine, saying the dress code had set women “way back”. In an email sent around by LPGA player president Vicki Goetze-Ackerman on July 2, players were warned that they would face a fine of $1000 if they breached the new dress code which comes into action on July 17.
