Chief Justice Appears To Take
Shot Across Gorsuch’s Bow

Daily Caller, by Kevin Daley

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 7/7/2017 6:31:38 PM

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts appeared to take a veiled jab at his new colleague Justice Neil Gorsuch during a conference in Pennsylvania this week, where he reiterated his longstanding aversion to solo opinions. The comments suggest a hint of tension between the chief and the junior justice. In remarks given at a judicial conference in Pennsylvania this week, Roberts reiterated his long-held view that the Court should speak with one voice wherever possible — that is to say, he supports a consensus-driven approach to opinion writing in which the justices strive for unanimity and avoid writing their own

Comments:
What a low class move. Wouldn´t it have been more appropriate for him to share his thoughts with Justice Gorsuch? That really takes larges ones. This coming from the hack who bowed down to Obama and didn´t have the spine to make the proper ruling on Obamacare that has sent this country into chaos and economic devastation.

Contd. What a huuuge disappointment Roberts has been. I´m thrilled with Gorsuch and hope he continues to be a thorn in the side of Roberts. I note that Roberts didn´t mention Thomas or Alito who also dissented along with Gorsuch in a recent ruling. That is shown in a link in the article.

You expect at least the Supreme Court Justices and esp the Chief to have class, character and prudence. Guess that is not the case even at the SC. What a gross disappointment!

Someone must have ´bought´ Roberts after his appointment.

From the article: " Roberts reiterated his long-held view that the Court should speak with one voice wherever possible--"

With all due respect to the Chief Justice, there can not be one voice when half the sitting justices don´t use the Constitution in their opinions, rather they use it to blow their noses.

Go, Judge Gorsuch!

The Dems/ communist have taken over almost every American institution and were close to getting the SC also. Thank god Trump won the election. If Hillary won American freedoms would be gone forever until a revolution. I believe history will show Trump as the third most important pres along with Washington and Lincoln to preserve our country.
Ps. Trump was not my first choice in the primaries.

Chief Justice Roberts is effectively a weakling.

IMHO he was blackmailed or otherwise intimidated by Obozo or his people before the Obamacare case came up.

Then when he saw the decision going against Obozo, he had to stop that from happening, so he had to rewrite the law in one of those "separate opinions" he supposedly dislikes so much.

What became of the opinions that he had demonstrated epilepsy via two seizures, one in 1993 and another in 2007 that precipitated this article in the NYT:

Roberts Facing Medical Option on 2nd Seizure

Has there been something else during the last 10 years? If he is on anti-seizure meds, the side effects can be varied and daunting, and not lend themselves to his line of work

Gorsuch was a nice and strategic choice.

At the time, Roberts seemed like he came from good stock, but then these same people tried to foist off Harriet Miers.

This is meant to be the least dangerous branch of government, limited in scope and power.

Its too early to evaluate Gorsuch.

Republican appointed Justices seldom exceed expectations,Clarence Thomas being one exception.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is promoting increased trade with Iran, despite clear opposition to this policy by the Trump White House, according to multiple sources who described the agency´s behavior as rogue and part of a lingering effort by the former Obama administration to promote international trade with the Islamic Republic. His stand for social justice by taking a knee during the national anthem last season as a member of the San Francisco 49ers has left him sitting on his couch as NFL training camps commence this week. His sideline satyagraha, designed to bring attention to civil rights violations and disparities in treatment from law enforcement in this country, makes him unemployable in a league that frowns upon individuality and values compliance and conformity from its players. Players for all 32 teams will have reported for camp by end of this week. It doesn’t look

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer claims that the price of gas “never goes down” as gas prices hit record lows under the Trump administration. Schumer told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week Sunday morning that gas prices can only go up, citing “huge companies buying up other big companies” as the cause of rising gas prices. “Gas prices are sticky — you know, when the domestic price goes, uh, when the, uh, price for oil goes up on the markets, it goes right up but it never goes down,” Schumer said. “How the heck did we let Exxon and Mobil

Former President Jimmy Carter predicted the U.S. will eventually transition to a government-run health care system while addressing his church congregation Sunday. “I think eventually we’ll have a single-payer system,” Carter said while speaking to a large crowd before teaching his Sunday school class at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Ga., according to the Wall Street Journal. Carter’s comments come in the midst of ongoing GOP efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare with more conservative legislation. The GOP has struggled to secure enough votes to pass the repeal and replace legislation as conservatives and moderates alike have found fault with

DENVER — If conservatives want any shot at influencing the culture, they need to go to the movies. Not buy DVDs. Pay for movie tickets to right-tilting feature films. “We need your help. When a movie comes to the theaters, you have to go see it,” said Hollywood director and producer John Sullivan told the crowd at the Western Conservative Summit. “We get two weeks in the theaters and then it’s gone,” he said. “The executives in Hollywood, we could sell 20 million DVDs and they wouldn’t care. We could have 100 million YouTube [views] and they wouldn’t care. We

In the most vocal opposition to president Donald Trump yet, former CIA Director John Brennan said that if the White House tries to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, government officials should refuse to follow the president orders, as they would be - in his view - “inconsistent” with the duties of the executive branch. "I think it´s the obligation of some executive branch officials to refuse to carry that out. I would just hope that this is not going to be a partisan issue. That Republicans, Democrats are going to see that the future of this government is at stake

Often in charge of younger siblings, we strayed further than we should have, got into trouble and, by the end of the summer, had a collection of triumphs, scars and memories for life. But surely such memories are just nostalgia? The bit about the sun always shining probably is. Yet one thing is certain – the level of parental involvement
