U.S. President Donald Trump met Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday at the G20 meeting, the two world leaders greeting each other with a handshake ahead of their formal meeting in the afternoon. The White House is briefing that there is “no fixed agenda” for the meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin, though the Kremlin said that this will be a “fully fledged seated meeting”, expected to last 15 minutes. The president is also due to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico on Friday and British Prime Minister Theresa May on Saturday at the gathering hosted by German Chancellor Angela

WASHINGTON - The White House said Thursday it had withdrawn or removed from active consideration more than 800 proposed regulations that were never finalized during the Obama administration as it works to shrink the federal government´s regulatory footprint. In a report, the Trump administration said it had withdrawn 469 planned regulatory actions that had been part of the Obama administration´s regulatory agenda published last fall. Officials also reconsidered 391 active regulatory proceedings actions by reclassifying them as long-term or inactive "allowing for further careful review," the White House said. The administration´s move to eliminate regulations makes good on a much-repeated Trump campaign

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Jeff Sessions deflected questions on Thursday about whether he can stay in his post after President Trump expressed a lack of confidence in Mr. Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation. Mr. Sessions said he loves his job and will continue to serve “as long as that is appropriate.” Asked whether he is considering resigning, Mr. Sessions said he and his colleagues intend to continue to do their jobs. “We are serving right now. The work we are doing today is the kind of work that we intend to continue,” he said during a news conference announcing what

The public learned on March 10, 2015 that Hillary Clinton had more than 60,000 emails on her private email system, and that she had turned over "about half" of them to the State Department and destroyed the rest, which she said were "personal" and "not in any way related" to her work as Secretary of State. The public learned later the lengths to which Clinton went to make sure the "personal" emails were completely and permanently deleted. Her team used a commercial-strength program called BleachBit to erase all traces of the emails, and they used hammers to physically destroy mobile devices

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., has become President Donald Trump´s fiercest congressional critic. In eight years, Obama never had a Republican nemesis the likes of Waters, who recently said, "I´m taking the gloves off." Seventeen years ago, I wrote Waters a letter. She never answered. It read, in part: Congresswoman Waters, Your power in America, and especially in the black community, is substantial. I honestly, and sincerely, urge you to rethink your positions on several issues. Despite my acknowledged harsh criticisms of you, I never once attacked you personally. I said, on many occasions: "I don´t question her heart, but I question her

Donald Trump is less than six months into his presidency, yet one of the organizing principles of his political operation is already becoming clear: Payback. In private, Trump has spoken of spending $10 million out of his own pocket to defeat an incumbent senator of his own party, Jeff Flake of Arizona, according to two sources familiar with the conversation last fall. More recently, the president celebrated the attacks orchestrated by a White House-sanctioned outside group against another Republican senator, Dean Heller of Nevada, who has also been openly critical of him. Fear of Trump reprisals has led one Republican congresswoman, Martha

President Donald Trump´s face-to-face meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin stretched on for two hours – and was quickly followed by news the U.S. and Russia had reached an agreement on a cease fire in Syria. The cease fire is to take effect Sunday at noon in Damascus, the Associated Press reported, without adding further details. Israel and Jordan were reported to be part of the agreement. The sign of possible progress in Syria – where Russia is the primary backer of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad – came more than two hours after Trump said it was ´an honor´ to

Wow. I listened to a lot of Barack Obama’s speeches, with all the empty platitudes about how we all can get along, even as the planet caught fire and burned while he sat back and dithered. I don’t remember any of Obama’s speeches approaching the profundity and understanding of the world that President Trump displayed in remarks delivered today, appropriately enough, in Warsaw, Poland. For those who think Trump is a buffoon, if they watched today, they witnessed a president with a rare understanding that ideas and principles matter, far more than bombs or feel-good false assurances. It’s a funny thing how none of President Trump’s critics and haters, particularly the putatively smart observers in the press, ever get what he is doing. He’s a step ahead of them and he’s outwitting them, even as they preach to him from what they think is a perch at least twenty IQ points above his. But as Trump said Saturday night at a gathering of veterans in Washington, the media are in fact looking up to him as he stands upon on the presidential bully pulpit. “I’m president and they’re not,” he noted. There is a method to President Trump’s madness,

Heading to church one evening in late March, a farmworker and her sister were stopped for speeding in the village of Geneseo, N.Y. They were driving with their five children in the back of the minivan. Two were not in car seats, as required. Both sisters were undocumented immigrants. They were detained and are facing deportation. The Humiliation Of Jeff Sessions- There is something more than a little jarring in the ongoing humiliation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. In an ill-timed, ill-focused interview with the NYT, President Trump revisited his disdain for Sessions, his first, most-ardent and most-loyal supporter in the Senate. When supporting Trump was still considered career suicide, Sessions donned the red cap anyway. Maybe it will prove fatal for Sessions’ career, after all. The president has not made a secret of the fact that he blames Sessions for the scandal that now engulfs the Trump administration, claiming in

President Trump sat down with Russian President Vladimir Putin for a second discussion at the G-20 summit in Germany this month — a talk the White House never disclosed, according to reports. The talk came hours after their two-hour bilateral meeting on July 7, towards the end of a “couples-only social dinner” at the summit, National Security Council spokesman Michael Anton told CNN. Trump and Putin conversed in the room where the dinner was being held. “No staff or Cabinet were at the dinner at all, for any of the countries,” Anton said, adding that translators were present. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has been diagnosed with brain cancer, the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix said Wednesday. The tumor was discovered after the senior Arizona senator underwent a minor procedure last week to remove a blood clot from above his left eye. "Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot," the hospital said in a statement. “The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation."

The U.S. special counsel investigating possible ties between the Donald Trump campaign and Russia in last year’s election is examining a broad range of transactions involving Trump’s businesses as well as those of his associates, according to a person familiar with the probe. The president told the New York Times on Wednesday that any digging into matters beyond Russia would be out of bounds. Trump’s businesses have involved Russians for years, making the boundaries fuzzy so Special Counsel Robert Mueller appears to be taking a wide-angle approach to his two-month-old probe. They are going out less often.” Cornell didn’t mention President Donald Trump by name, but he talked about a shift in behavior this year and mentioned “border towns” -- where retailers for years have depended on shoppers from northern Mexico for higher revenue.

We just learned that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is in a battle against brain cancer. Yet, he´s not letting that stop him from still speaking his mind on foreign policy. Reports suggest that President Trump has ended a CIA program to arm and train anti-Assad rebels in Syria. The senator said that is unacceptable and used it to suggest the Trump administration has yet to offer a comprehensive plan on Syria. He also predicted that Russia will be huge fans of this development, since they want to see Bashar al-Assad remain in power.
