For those who cannot see the multi-dimensional strategy here, an approach assembled for years in the aggregate and fine-tuned in the last several weeks, President Trump is reinforcing our prior analysis of his strategy: (Tweet) A day before he meets face-to-face with Xi Jinping, President Trump is highlighting the enabler to North Korea. President Trump is smartly setting up a spotlight for the entire world to see who is creating the problem, China. President Trump will never start a military war because it’s antithetical to his entire constitution. However, within the field of economic combat – watch out. Not only

It certainly has the whiff of the party line of David Brock´s smear outfit, Media Matters, which has long placed Fox, above all other conservative media, in its gunsights, often as its exclusive focus, claiming the network is too influential and must be stopped. It cannot be overstated how eagerly the Democrats want to take back the White House in 2020. The Democrats face many obstacles in this effort, but the greatest threat is the fierce internal divisions within the party. Two of the leading prospective presidential candidates, Sens. Former Vice President Joe Biden has been busy building a national email list to communicate directly with his supporters, and Rep. Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh has taken a ton of heat over the past few days for essentially claiming that the warnings over Hurricane Irma — a massive Category 5 storm heading right for Florida — were related to a broader “deep state” conspiracy to promote climate change, force people to buy bottled water and increase the news media’s ratings. During his radio program yesterday, Limbaugh remained defiant, claiming that media accusations that he was placing people in danger by spreading conspiracy theories were completely untrue. The news that President Trump abandoned Republicans to strike a deal with congressional Democrats on a three-month extension of the debt limit yielded a predictable response from his predictable cheerleaders: It was brilliant and typically shrewd for the author of “The Art of the Deal” to take the very first offer the Democrats made and ask for nothing in return. Less obsequious observers on the right claimed this was the long-prophesied moment. The seventh seal had been broken. Donald Trump was “pivoting” at last. “The pivot is real and it’s spectacular!” proclaimed Ben Domenech, the publisher of The Federalist. In the lexicon

Keep these numbers in mind: 316 to 90 and 80 to 17. They were the lopsided votes in the House and Senate in support of the deal President Trump made with Democratic leaders on storm aid, the debt limit and government funding. Remarkably, all the no voters were Republicans. The numbers shout that we are witnessing a potential turning point in the Trump presidency, one that could further shake up Washington and rattle the calcified political parties. Frustrated by the failure of GOP majorities in both chambers to pass his agenda, Trump followed through on threats to work with Democrats. Signs suggest it was
