His Twitter post features a video of his journey, while an Instagram post featuring the same video included a this message from Kaepernick, starting with a quote from Frederick Douglass. "What have I, or those I represent, to do with your national independence?" - Frederick Douglass. In a quest to find my personal independence, I had to find out where my ancestors came from. How can we truly celebrate independence on a day that intentionally robbed our ancestors of theirs?

He should have stayed there.

#5, he was indeed born to a white mother who let a very nice couple adopt him into their family.

His whole attitude has been very obnoxious, and I have read that his parents have basically disowned him for the moment due to his total disrespect of them. The fellow had a great childhood yet he cannot stop harping on his color issues.

If he wants to get mad, tell him to get mad at his muslim GF and the blacks he finds in Africa. For it was those two groups who stole independence from his ancestors. Not whites.

I see he has donated his massive sneaker collection to homeless shelters (not sure how many folks can actually fit into his shoes). He also purchased 100 custom suits for recently released prisoners so they can look good in the job interview.

Democrats are worried that the fight between former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is doing lasting damage to their party. As the bickering between the former rivals grows more intense, Democrats say it needs to end. "It reiterates that our party is still led by people with fatal flaws," said one former senior Obama administration official. Another former Obama official added, "It´s like watching two children bickering." The only winner from the infighting, they say, is the Republican president. While promoting her newly released memoir, Hillary Clinton has placed blame on several factors for her loss to Donald Trump last November — from her own mistakes, to Russian interference in the U.S. election, and the late intervention by then-FBI director James Comey. But Clinton has also spoken candidly about how deep-rooted sexism played a hand in her defeat, and about the double standards she faced as the first woman nominated by a major party for president in America’s 240-year history. In an interview with the New York Times published Saturday, Clinton spoke further about how misogyny is used as

The Big Idea: If I had to stock Hillary Clinton’s new memoir in a bookstore, I’d be tempted to place it in a section on self-help or bereavement. “What Happened” was quickly strip-mined for political nuggets after its publication last Tuesday. As I went through it over the weekend, though, what struck me most was how the wounded Democrat coped after her crushing defeat last November. In short, Clinton has read voraciously and eclectically — for escape, for solace and for answers.
