NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick has compared police officers to fugitive slave patrolmen after a Minnesota cop was acquitted of manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a black motorist. Kaepernick, who famously protested police brutality by refusing to stand during the national anthem last season, tweeted an image over the weekend of a police badge beside a fugitive slave patrol. The image read: ´You can´t ignore your history. Always remember who they are.´ He was responding to the news on Friday that Officer Jeronimo Yanez was not guilty of murdering 32-year-old Philando Castile at traffic stop in a St Paul suburb last year.
Comments: This pathetic, stupid racist is just doubling down. The more he keeps blathering the less chances he has of getting a job. No one in their right mind would want that racist loser.
Mediocre football player trying to stay famous by being controversial. It won´t work Kaepernick. No NFL team worth the name will take a chance on a wild card like you. You screwed up your career yourself. Now live with the results and enjoy the NFL season which you can watch on television.
Colin, want history? You should read some before making stupid remarks. Tens of thousands of white men died to end slavery in the U.S. Also Lincoln was a Republican. Someone with Colin´s attitude would be in prison or dead if not for the white couple that raised him.
This boorish fool just makes it worse every time he opens his stupid mouth. Can´t someone find a pail big enough to cover that afro hair and gigantic mouth and jam it down far enough to cover him to his shoulders? I wouldn´t hire him to cut grass.
This arrogantly ignorant piece of work is PR poison, and all 32 NFL teams know it. The NFL and 49ers failed to assertively manage the situation last seaon, thereby enraging/losing fans and now de facto ending Colin´s career to boot.
This irony passed so far over this twit´s head I would be willing to bet he never recognizes it.
Lecturing people on ignoring history is just too rich for words, coming from him. He has totally thrown his entire family to the curb, the little ingrate. I would say this is still all due to the influence of that nasty muslim girlfriend of his too.
Elise Jordan warned Republicans against defending a fact-challenged President Donald Trump, comparing doing so to “hugging a suicide bomber” on MSNBC Thursday. The comments were in response to Trump’s latest tweets undermining his previous statement hinting that he may have recorded tapes of his conversations with former FBI director James Comey. (Snip) “My advice would just be to Republicans who do cozy up to him — it’s like hugging a suicide bomber.” “He blows you up in the process with him,” she added. “That’s a little strong, Elise,” Melvin responded. “If you’re a Republican who went out on a limb
The Nebraska Democratic Party on Thursday removed one of its officials after a recording surfaced of him saying he was glad House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R., La.) got shot and wished he died. Phil Montag, who served as volunteer co-chairman of the party´s technology committee, was fired after his comments were released, local Fox affiliate KPTM reported. Montag made the remarks during a private meeting with the party´s Black Caucus chairwoman, Chelsey Gentry-Tipton, and a friend of hers, Destin Madison. "His whole job is to get people, convince Republicans to [expletive] kick people off [expletive] health care. I´m glad he got shot,"
President Trump on Friday signed a bill that would protect whistleblowers while making it easier to fire employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Department of Veterans Affairs Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act passed by Congress earlier this month streamlines the process to remove, demote, or suspend VA employees for poor performance or misconduct. In addition, it authorizes the VA secretary to recoup any bonuses awarded to employees who have acted improperly. Under the new law, protections for whistleblowers will be expanded and the VA will be prevented from dismissing an employee who has an open complaint against the department. The bill
The Senate Judiciary Committee has opened a probe into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s efforts to shape the FBI’s investigation into 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the committee’s chairman announced Friday. In a letter to Ms. Lynch, the committee asks her to detail the depths of her involvement in the FBI’s investigation, including whether she ever assured Clinton confidantes that the probe wouldn’t “push too deeply into the matter.” Fired FBI Director James B. Comey has said publicly that Ms. Lynch tried to shape the way he talked about the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s emails, and he also hinted at other
MSNBC is giving a show to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt and liberals are predictably freaking out. The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday explained that Hewitt’s first show will air on Saturday, June 24. Writer Jeremy Barr added, “In giving Hewitt his own show, MSNBC is sure to raise eyebrows, considering that the network has been doing well mostly on the strength of left-leaning opinion journalists like Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O´Donnell.” The move will "raise eyebrows?" That’s an understatement. Liberals on Twitter are already attacking the cable network for hiring a “fascist.” It was just last week that Avengers movie
Did Senate Republicans really need to spend a month behind closed doors, incurring the ire of the American people, just to copy and paste Obamacare? (Snip) There will be tremendous acrimony between the two parties in the ensuing days over Obamacare, because they both need to play to their constituencies and continue the binary fight club racket reminiscent of WWE. However, in reality, nobody is repealing Obamacare, nobody is addressing the core health care issues in America, and nobody is offering a vision of freedom, prosperity, and a solvent health care and health insurance market. Everything is working within the
Former “Crossfire” co-host and CNN political pundit Paul Begala praised Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on “Anderson Cooper 360” Wednesday, saying, “If there was a Mount Rushmore for house speakers, Nancy Pelosi would be on it.” Begala continued lauding Pelosi, comparing her to former President Franklin D. Roosevelt. “She passed national healthcare,” Begala said. “Even Franklin Roosevelt could not do that.” Begala cited her unpopularity ratings at 50 percent, proclaiming that they are lower than House Speaker Paul Ryan’s unpopularity ratings at 54 percent. Begala then said it is high time that Democrats go on the offensive and take the
In March, California’s Attorney General slapped David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, with a whopping fifteen felony charges. Daleiden and Merritt, by way of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), released several horrifying undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood officials negotiating the price of aborted baby parts. (Snip) Wednesday, San Francisco’s Superior Court dismissed the first fourteen charges against Merritt, finding them legally insufficient. Life News reports: The San Francisco Superior Court on Wednesday dismissed 14 of 15 criminal counts but the pair are still charged with one count of conspiracy to invade privacy. However the court dismissed the charges with leave to amend —
An open borders organization is working to train immigration lawyers to deal with the increased number of illegal immigrants facing deportation under President Trump. The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) has launched the “Immigration Justice Campaign” to quickly get more attorneys familiar with immigration law to stop the flow of deportations. In a news release touting the training effort, AILA called illegal immigrants facing deportation a “representation crisis” and said they would train more attorneys to be “cutting-edge defenders” in helping get temporary amnesty for illegal immigrants:
There was a time when White House reporters did their work and didn’t cry like little babies. The men were men and the women were not to be tangled with (Helen Thomas in her prime). But those days are gone. Long gone. The effete David Gregory (remember him?) made his career at NBC by beating up a White House spokesman every day in front of the cameras during the administration of George W. Bush. Mr. Gregory would grandstand and peacock and ask interminably long questions (more camera time, folks!), berating White House spokesman Scott McClellan, who was kept on a
Sen. John McCain, always the political maverick, recently bucked his own Republican Party by refusing to defend President Donald Trump in the Russia investigation and even suggesting the matter was reaching epic proportions. (Snip) There was just one fact missing from his narrative: Exactly one decade earlier it was McCain’s own presidential campaign that was being roiled by concerns of possible Russian influence in his own inner circle. In fact, McCain’s drama involved the same foreign lobbyist Paul Manafort; one of the same Russian oligarchs, Oleg Deripaska; the same Russian diplomat, Sergey Kislyak, and the same wily Russian leader, Vladimir
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., is committed to playing the role of a swaggering anti-President Trump resistance leader, despite that the contrived routine makes her look utterly ridiculous. Even MSNBC´s Mika Brzezinski suggested Wednesday that the senator´s tough-talking bit is a little too on the nose. "You´re quoted all over the place about resisting, pushing back. Even one quote here a week ago, I think, where you used a profanity," the cable news host said. "But the bottom line is we need to fight hard and we´re angry about what´s happening in Washington." Brzezinski continued, saying, "As someone who has spoken
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. -- Video of a woman demanding for her son to be seen by a "white doctor" at a walk-in clinic in Ontario has gone viral. CTV Toronto reports the four-minute argument was recorded by a patient in the waiting room at the Rapid Access to Medical Specialists clinic on Sunday. In the video, an employee is heard explaining to the woman that a "white doctor" would not be available until 4 p.m. to see her child. To which she responds, "So you´re saying in the whole entire building there isn´t one white doctor? You´re telling me my kid has chest
Jon Ossoff was on a trajectory to defeat Karen Handel narrowly, poised to deliver a humiliating blow to the White House in a race billed as a referendum of Donald Trump’s early months in office. Then the Republican voters in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District unexpectedly showed up in droves. Pollsters say sky-high turnout drove Handel, the GOP nominee, to a nearly 4-point victory on Tuesday, despite most pre-election surveys showing Ossoff with a small-but-shrinking lead. Mathematically, a 4-point loss for a Democratic House candidate in a district that has traditionally elected Republicans by wide margins is an encouraging result for
California is restricting publicly funded travel to four more states because of recent laws that leaders here view as discriminatory against gay and transgender people. All totaled, California now bans most state-funded travel to eight states. The new additions to California’s restricted travel list are Texas, Alabama, Kentucky and South Dakota. They join Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee as states already subjected to the ban. California Attorney Xavier Becerra announced the new states at a Thursday press conference, where he was joined by representatives from ACLU Northern California and Equality California.
(Facebook) - Former President Barack Obama took to Facebook to ask Republicans to reconsider their efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare. "I recognize that repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act has become a core tenet of the Republican Party," Obama wrote. "Still, I hope that our senators, many of whom I know well, step back and measure what’s really at stake, and consider that the rationale for action, on health care or any other issue, must be something more than simply undoing something that Democrats did." He argued that the Republican health care bill
A city on Mars with a million inhabitants could be achievable within 50 years, the space entrepreneur Elon Musk has forecast, as he laid out plans to turn mankind into a multi-planetary species. The SpaceX founder warned that humans would need to venture away from Earth to avoid a ‘Doomsday event’ and our ‘eventual extinction.’ But he said that a huge Martian city could be established this century, which would not just be an outpost, but a fully functioning society with ‘iron foundries and pizza joints.’
In a year that he would like to forget, which included his acrimonious divorce to Amber Heard, Johnny Depp appeared at a Q&A at the new Cinemageddon stage at Glastonbury. Introducing his 2004 film The Libertine, about a 17th-century poet who notoriously drank himself to an early death, the 54-year-old chose to discuss American politics. "I think [Donald] Trump needs help," he said. "There are a lot of dark places he could go." He added: "I´m not insinuating anything - by the way this will be in the press and it will be horrible - but when was the last
Most illegal immigrants who pay taxes have stolen someone else’s legal identity, and the IRS doesn’t do a very good job of letting those American citizens and legal immigrants know they’re being impersonated, the tax agency’s inspector general said in a new report released Thursday. The theft creates major problems for the American citizens and legal foreign workers whose identities are stolen, and who have to deal with explaining money they never earned. But the IRS only manages to identify half of the potentially 1.4 million people likely affected by the fraud in 2015, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax
The deadly collision between a U.S. destroyer and a container ship June 17 took place while the freighter was on autopilot, according to Navy officials. The Philippines-flagged cargo ship ACX Crystal was under control of a computerized navigation system that was steering and guiding the container vessel, according to officials familiar with preliminary results of an ongoing Navy investigation. Investigators so far found no evidence the collision was deliberate. Nevertheless, an accident during computerized navigation raises the possibility the container ship´s computer system could have been hacked and the ship deliberately steered into the USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer. Illinois is like Venezuela now, a fiscally broken state that has lost its will to live, although for the moment, we still have enough toilet paper. But before we run out of the essentials, let´s finally admit that after decade upon decade of taxing and spending and borrowing, Illinois has finally run out of other people´s money. Those "other people" include taxpayers who´ve abandoned the state. And now Illinois faces doomsday. So as the politicians meet in Springfield this week for another round of posturing and gesturing and blaming, we need a plan.
President Donald Trump has said he will pursue legislation that would bar immigrants from being eligible for welfare for at least five years. At a rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, last night he said ´the time has come´ for ´new immigration rules´ that would require those seeking admission to the country to be able to support themselves financially and would bar the use of welfare for a period of at least five years. He said his administration would be ´putting in legislation to that effect very shortly.´ It is unclear, however, how Trump´s proposal would change the current situation.
Attorneys for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl want to ask potential jurors in a court-martial for their views on President Trump and whether they voted for him, according to news reports Wednesday. At a pretrial hearing Wednesday, Berdahl´s lawyers submitted the questions to the judge in the case, out of concern that jurors may be swayed by negative comments Trump made in the presidential campaign about the soldier. "The principal issue has to do with ensuring we are able to identify people who have been nominated to be on the court-martial panel — the jury — who are not in a
[…] John Anzalone, Ossoff’s pollster, said the Democrat’s campaign succeeded in turning out its voters — but they were swamped by Republicans who came out in numbers that ended up dwarfing previous high-profile special elections (link) That’s a very interesting admission/statement for a Politico article. That’s also an example of what happens when President Trump’s ‘Monster Vote‘ turns out. (Politico) Jon Ossoff was on a trajectory to defeat Karen Handel narrowly, poised to deliver a humiliating blow to the White House in a race billed as a referendum of Donald Trump’s early months in office. Then the Republican voters in
