THE CIRCLE and Hammersmith and City Tube lines were closed today over safety fears Grenfell Tower could collapse. London Underground bosses reportedly closed down the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines in the wake of the fire. The Hammersmith and City Line has been suspended between Edgware Road and Hammersmith due to the blaze four days ago, Transport for London said. The devastating fire in North Kensington, West London, is close to both lines which have stations in the area. TFL bosses were prompted to close the tube lines in a bid to ensure public safety. Coupled with planned engineering work, the safety

I don´t know the names of the UK equivalent of the Tree Huggers, the Greenies, and the Latter-Day Al Gores, but UK can thank them all for the state of affairs at the residence towering inferno and the subway problems. Unlike here, drunks peeing on the rail lines isn´t their biggest problem.

frankly, all I know is how much I don´t know. but it seems to me that these "demonstrators" (if their beef is truly about the fire) should be demonstrating against the council or the city for the building codes or the contractor or the local politicians. But Theresa May? What on earth did she have to do with it? This makes about as much sense as demonstrating against the bishop for a local church fire.

Every time I lament about the decline in the USA, there is Great Britain, showing us what a real bunch of screwups can do. The nonsense about 9 fatalities continued for hours/days, as did the futile streams of water stretching to reach all the way to the 6th floor. The wisdom of advising the tenants to "shelter in place" was another pearl of wisdom, no doubt promulgated by some wise bureaucrat far from the scene, probably living in a gated community.

I wonder if closing the "tubes" is just an opportunity to re-open them with proper Islam-appropriate names? Mind you, there are no such things in the Koran, so maybe they will just fill them with crusader bodies.

White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is a marked man, according to news reports and sources inside the West Wing who see the nationalist Trump-whisperer´s political hourglass quickly losing sand. CBS News reported Monday night that the axe could fall as soon as Friday on the man credited with arranging the president´s marriage to millions of angry white working-class voters last year. The former Breitbart News executive chairman was once an equal partner in a ruling triumvirate of deputies that included Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner. But Priebus´s star ran out of fuel last month. And his successor

A Methodist pastor who has been Hillary Clinton’s minister for years plagiarized the writings of another minister in a new book, it was reported on Monday. Rev. Bill Shillady is the author of a new book, Strong for a Moment Like This: The Daily Devotions of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Hillary Clinton´s personal pastor compared her treatment to the persecution of Jesus in a devotional sent to her during the Presidential campaign - and victor Donald Trump to the ´wicked´. The former Democratic candidate took comfort from the words of Rev Bill Shillady who told her that ´blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness´. Rev Shillady referred her to Matthew 5:10-12 which says that the reward for such ill treatment on Earth was going to Heaven when she died. A poised Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands revealed it in a video uploaded to YouTube, and King Juan Carlos of Spain confirmed it by signing a parliamentary bill. Queen Elizabeth, however, has vowed that abdicate is something she will never do. Abdication is, after all, a dirty word in the corridors of Royal palaces, especially after the earthquake caused when her uncle Edward VIII quit the throne in 1936 to marry the twice-divorced Wallis Simpson.
