Meet the Tennessee man who

Tennessean [Nashville, TN], by Nate Rau & Helen Comer

CHRISTIANA, Tenn. — Pruitt Road residents in this rural Rutherford County town were on guard when fugitives Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe came their way on the third day of the manhunt for the accused killers. Bordering hundreds of acres of lush forest, the two-lane road winds through the countryside. Wild turkeys wander the road, and dogs run free on the rolling hills. Aware of a freeway chase and gunfire on nearby Interstate 24, Patrick Hale said he loaded every gun in his house after neighbors called to say that two fugitives were possibly headed his way. One minute later, he saw the

I heard the report this morning and it was mentioned that so many are hunters there. Another good guy with guns once again proves why we should have the right to them.

I liked the neighbor comment that “out in the county” everybody carries because it’s their responsibility to protect themselves and their families. People have been lulled into thinking that the police have the responsibility to protect, but that is so wrong. The police only take the report and clean up the mess.

I´m sure prayers made a big difference.

I also think these two knuckleheads knew they were dead if they waited for the cops to show up. They also knew that in this territory, where protection is personal, fighting this guy was futile. Checkmate.

MSNBC is giving a show to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt and liberals are predictably freaking out. The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday explained that Hewitt’s first show will air on Saturday, June 24. Writer Jeremy Barr added, “In giving Hewitt his own show, MSNBC is sure to raise eyebrows, considering that the network has been doing well mostly on the strength of left-leaning opinion journalists like Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O´Donnell.” The move will "raise eyebrows?" That’s an understatement. Liberals on Twitter are already attacking the cable network for hiring a “fascist.” It was just last week that Avengers movie

Did Senate Republicans really need to spend a month behind closed doors, incurring the ire of the American people, just to copy and paste Obamacare? (Snip) There will be tremendous acrimony between the two parties in the ensuing days over Obamacare, because they both need to play to their constituencies and continue the binary fight club racket reminiscent of WWE. However, in reality, nobody is repealing Obamacare, nobody is addressing the core health care issues in America, and nobody is offering a vision of freedom, prosperity, and a solvent health care and health insurance market. An open borders organization is working to train immigration lawyers to deal with the increased number of illegal immigrants facing deportation under President Trump. The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) has launched the “Immigration Justice Campaign” to quickly get more attorneys familiar with immigration law to stop the flow of deportations. In a news release touting the training effort, AILA called illegal immigrants facing deportation a “representation crisis” and said they would train more attorneys to be “cutting-edge defenders” in helping get temporary amnesty for illegal immigrants:

There was a time when White House reporters did their work and didn’t cry like little babies. The men were men and the women were not to be tangled with (Helen Thomas in her prime). But those days are gone. Long gone. A new proposal by an anti-Trump Democrat on the Federal Election Commission would expand the federal government´s probe into alleged Russian influence to foreign companies and internet sites that take political ads, like Facebook or the Drudge Report, while giving the FEC an unprecedented role that some say oversteps its authority. Democratic Commissioner Ellen Weintraub, citing petitions from leftist groups demanding a wider investigation, on Thursday plans to push for commission support for her idea. "This is an all-hands-on-deck moment for our democracy," she wrote in a hasty bid to get the commission to consider it at their Thursday meeting.

Key provisions of the Senate’s ObamaCare repeal bill meant to curb abortion services are in serious danger of being dropped from the legislation, which could cost the bill votes from conservatives. All three provisions, according to aides and lobbyists, are expected to fall short of budgetary rules. Republicans are using budget reconciliation rules to pass the ObamaCare repeal bill in order to prevent Democrats from filibustering it. The problem is that provisions in the healthcare bill must be budget-related to be included in a measure considered under those special rules.

The Philippines-flagged cargo ship ACX Crystal was under control of a computerized navigation system that was steering and guiding the container vessel, according to officials familiar with preliminary results of an ongoing Navy investigation. Investigators so far found no evidence the collision was deliberate. Nevertheless, an accident during computerized navigation raises the possibility the container ship´s computer system could have been hacked and the ship deliberately steered into the USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer.
