Medstar Washington Hospital
Presser – Update on Steve
Scalise From Dr. Jack Sava (video)…

Conservative Treehouse, by Sundance

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 6/16/2017 4:46:31 PM

Dr. Jack Sava of MedStar Washington Hospital Center provides an update on the medical condition of House Majority Whip Congressman Steve Scalise. Upon arrival at the hospital Mr. Scalise was in “critical condition with imminent risk of death”. Representative Steve Scalise had numerous surgeries to stem bleeding and initial damage to internal organs, arteries and blood vessels. Mr. Scalise vital signs have now stabilized. More surgical procedures are anticipated. While the overall medical outlook is better today than 48 hours ago, Mr. Scalise remains in critical condition within the intensive care unit at MedStar Washington.

Comments:
It was very alarming to hear that Rep. Scalise was very close to death when he was admitted. He sure has a very long difficult road ahead of him. My continued prayers go out to him and his family. In his Twitter feed below there is the statement from his wife Jennifer. Dr. Sava´s commentary about his ability to walk again was encouraging. A shattered pelvis is such a horrific injury.

I am glad the family wants only limited information released by the hospital. It is as it should be. The
media does not need to know every tiny detail. I thank
God for His Divine intervention and care for Congressman Scalise.

This is to be expected: President Reagan was much closer to death than first thought. Pray hard for a "miraculous" recovery for Rep. Scalise. God´s hand will most certainly be needed to assist the surgeons in what remains a daunting and risky task ahead.

(BTW: I was impressed by Dr. Sava´s candor at the briefing. Sobering, but credible. This is not always true of such events.)

Spy agencies changed rules,
making it easier to unmask
members of Congress
The Hill [Washington, DC], by John Solomon    Original Article

President Obama’s intelligence chief issued revised procedures in 2013 that made it easier for executive branch officials to “unmask” the names of lawmakers or congressional staffers caught up in intelligence intercepts overseas, according to interviews and documents reviewed by The Hill. Procedures issued by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper in March 2013 formally supplanted a 1992 set of rules that made the dissemination of names of intercepted lawmakers or congressional aides an act of last resort. The new standard allowed for a lawmaker’s or staffer’s name to be unmasked if “an executive branch recipient of intelligence” believed that learning “the identity

Trump dictated son’s misleading statement

On the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Germany last month, President Trump’s advisers discussed how to respond to a new revelation that Trump’s oldest son had met with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign — a disclosure the advisers knew carried political and potentially legal peril. The strategy, the advisers agreed, should be for Donald Trump Jr. to release a statement to get ahead of the story. They wanted to be truthful, so their account couldn’t be repudiated later if the full details emerged. But within hours, at the president’s direction, the plan changed. Flying home

Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake claimed his party is in “denial” about President Donald Trump in a recently released excerpt from his upcoming book. (Snip) “I’ve been sympathetic to this impulse to denial, as one doesn’t ever want to believe that the government of the United States has been made dysfunctional at the highest levels, especially by the actions of one’s own party,” Flake continued.”… For a conservative, that’s an awfully bitter pill to swallow.” One of the few ways to stop a way-ward president is through Congress, Flake said, before calling on his fellow congressmen to acts as the “checks

There is chatter within the White House that Kellyanne Conway is being looked at as the next communications director, a source within the White House told The Daily Caller. Anthony Scaramucci was ousted Monday as communications director following a week of publicly feuding with former chief of staff Reince Priebus. Scaramucci called Priebus a “paranoid schizophrenic” in an interview President Trump viewed as inappropriate, according to White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. There’s more than bank fraud going on here. In Washington, it’s never about what they tell you it’s about. So take this to the bank: The case of Imran Awan, Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s mysterious Pakistani IT guy, is not about bank fraud. Yet bank fraud was the stated charge on which Awan was arrested at Dulles Airport this week, just as he was trying to flee the United States for Pakistan, via Qatar. That is the same route taken by Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, in March, when she suddenly fled the country, with three young daughters she yanked out of

A former NBC employee claims the network blatantly looked for "good-looking employees" and asked that she submit photos before being allowed to interview. Stephanie Belanger has filed a lawsuit against the network, claiming that NBC´s focus on beauty enabled a toxic, discriminatory environment, the New York Post reported Monday. In the lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Belanger alleges disability discrimination, sexual harassment, and termination after she complained. When Belanger was first contacted for a job as an audio-visual coordinator, the recruiter told her that NBC "specifically asked for good-looking employees." More than 40 House Democrats and Republicans have banded together to unveil a new plan that aims to fix the problems with the Affordable Care Act and prop up troubled insurance markets. Reps. Tom Reed (R-NY) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) are spearheading the effort with the Problem Solvers Caucus and other moderate lawmakers from the New Democrat Coalition and the Republican centrist Tuesday Group. Matt Drudge of Drudge Report fame didn’t take kindly to Sen. John McCain’s recent thumbs-down vote on Obamacare repeal. In a tweet that quickly amassed 5,500 or so likes, and near 2,800 retweets, Drudge simply wrote: “Corruption has so many faces …” The message was atop a photo of a McCain campaign photo that included the senator’s face and this text: “John McCain: Leading the fight to stop Obamacare.” Right. A picture says 1,000 words. But in this case, one suffices. And Drudge nailed it: Corruption. McCain, pure and simple, screwed Republicans, conservatives and President Donald Trump on Obamacare repeal.

President Trump used the opportunity of two public speeches last week to highlight the brutality of the MS-13 gang. What the president described was barbaric — but, according to many liberal pundits and activists, what was more barbaric was Trump mentioning the crimes themselves. “Ppl talk about the ‘southern strategy’ but it’s Trump’s channeling of the racial politics of the post-Jim Crow *north* that makes him potent,” MSNBC host Chris Hayes tweeted in response to Trump’s speech before police officers in New York. The men and women gathered at that secret February meeting on the top floor of 241 West 41st Street, the New York Times building, were Democrat politicians, media figures, retired and active members of the federal security bureaucracy, and several Establishment Republicans, and they were at wit’s end. Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio was convicted on Monday of defying a court order to stop rounding up immigrants, and he may face jail time — another rebuke for a once-popular politician who was voted out of office last year. In 24 years as sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., Mr. Arpaio built a national reputation for harsh conditions in his county jail, and for his campaign against undocumented immigrants; his deputies detained people solely based on a belief that they were in the country illegally, and then turn them over to immigration authorities for deportation. In December 2011, a federal district judge hearing a racial
