Fox News Is Dropping Its
‘Fair & Balanced’ Slogan

New York Magazine, by Gabriel Sherman

As Fox News moves further into the post–Roger Ailes era, the network is shedding one of its most iconic elements. According to network executives, Fox News has abandoned the marketing slogan “Fair & Balanced.” The decision was made last August after Ailes’s ouster by Fox News co-president Jack Abernethy, because the phrase had “been mocked,” one insider said. Another executive explained that the tagline was “too closely associated with Roger.” Fox executives have been instructed by management to market the network by its other tagline: “Most Watched. Most Trusted.” It is hard to overstate the significance of what shedding “Fair

Comments:
The total deconstruction of FNC continues by the two evil leftist Murdoch boys. I guess they couldn´t very well keep that slogan when more leftists are appearing on FNC. More and more ´journalists´ from Politico are on. Sadly, one was on the panel the other night with Bret Baier. That was a first. He was there was with a fool from Yahoo News. Seriously? I´ve never seen anyone before on FNC from that pathetic outlet. It´s so sad to see. Other than today, I find myself switching constantly or putting it on mute like I have never done

Contd. "A Fox News spokesperson confirmed that the network is dropping the slogan but said the branding change won’t affect programming or editorial decisions."

Really? Maybe they want to believe that but we all know better. The more leftists they bring on the more it will change and has changed. These changes are also hurting their ratings. Link below.

Other than Fox & Friends, Tucker and Hannity I have it on less and less when it used always be on in the house. We desperately need a new truly conservative channel. I refuse to ever watch CNN or MessNBC so for now FNC is my go to for the news.

Yeah, no point in false advertising, eh? I will never again deliberately watch Fox News. It was our last Go-To for Fair and Balanced news. We stayed loyal for all their 20 years. Well, no longer. Buh-Bye, FNC.

I never liked when they first adopted it, and commented so directly on the Fox blog at the time. The slogan opened FNC to criticism from the left. I want a conservative network, period. If I want to hear liberals, I can tune in to the alphabets, CNN, or (P)MSNBC (thanks, Rush). So much time is wasted with liberal filibustering, and when a conservative is just about to make their point, it seems that the FNC producers are yelling "Wrap!" into the earpieces. (Where do the FCC rules require "hard breaks"? Rush runs "long" all the time!)

This has been true all along, and is even worse since the Murdoch sons took over. (Every time you see a guest fiddle with the earpiece, the producers are probably chatting in it, likely telling them to "wrap".)

Now, even the pretense of being a conservative network has been cast aside.
FNC´s new slogan should be: "We´re just like all the others." /s

It won´t be long before Juan has the headliner spot. O´Reilly was a boor but the man was smart and serious about his work. Kelly shot her career in the foot in the first Republican primary debate and has been drowning ever since. They claim nothing will change but I stopped watching so that´s a big change for me.

Today was a good example of why people hate Cable TV. From the time of the shooting this AM, until the end of Hannity´s show FOX had nothing on but the shooting. Hello! There are other things going on in the world. Yes, they should cover it, but maybe give hourly updates. I mean jeesh, how many times can you interview the people who lived nearby, or the guys who were there, or just show the long line of First Responders. Meanwhile, the narrators drone on and on and on. Made me frantically grab for the Remote and find HGTV which I then left on for the rest of the day. I did check in every so often to see if there was anything new, but there was nothing! All of Cable did the non stop coverage. It´s just plain dumb to try and stretch a story for that many hours without anything NEW to tell the viewers!

This has been coming a long time. I no longer watch and haven´t for quite awhile. Once Hannity leaves that will be the final death knell for FNC. It´s a shame. What was once a breath of fresh air among a bunch of biased network dung has now become just another piece of waste in the cesspool we call news. Good riddance!

They are rapidly becoming the "me too" network. Why don´t they savetime and rename themselves "XYZ" as just another alphabet network.

Now we know that the Murdoch boys are more interested in leftist ideology than running a successful network news organization. While Fox has been slipping toward the left for years, it was still watchable. No more. I turn on Tucker Carlson because he is the best interviewer out there. Occasionally, I will watch Hannity if I can take his ploviating questions. While he has good info, he is getting in the way with his thousand word questions which is very off putting. It´s all about what he knows and the information he has which he repeats over and over. If I want to watch something without a crazy lib spewing garbage, I watch Lou Dobbs on Fox Business.

The Murdoch boys may be proud of themselves but they will be much less rich for it. However, they will be guests at all the right parties so there´s always that.

Not only did Fox´s leftward tilt turn me off, but I´ve hated the variety show-type programming with their celebrity fawning and the cooking segments. Fox is supposed to be different from GMA, not mimic it! And then there are the cookie-cutter cuties with their quadricep muscles on display. We watch Fox Business News instead where the news is the news and the legs are discreetly kept behind the desks.

Fox is typical of a ´business reality´ the first Generation makes the business, the second generation maintains the business cash flow.. The third gen destroys it....Fair and Balanced was a joke...By the second interview of the day.. The Democrap talking points were down solid, and just parroted for the rest of the day...That is what is driving FOX into the rest of the day!

we noticed that they must have eliminated a couple of jobs at least as they no longer instantly provide the name of the commentator/guest in a caption - that position seems to have been totally eliminated - was that a cost-cutting measure to offset losses elsewhere?

Fair and Balanced is like the word "Unity" right now. It´s a placebo. It´s fake, it´s phony. It means nothing.
There´s no unity and those that say both sides of the aisle are guilty are dead wrong. I want to hear someone say "stop with the BS." Ninety five per cent of this is coming from only one side and has for decades. So far it´s only been a few radio pundits who have the courage to tell the truth. The Left is vocal because they have the media that supports their lies and corruption. As they say, there´s strength in numbers.

And as for me, I am a 40 something female who was/is not the least offended that a man who could barely walk made a few comments to women who never said a word until their shows were cancelled (due to low ratings) or they saw the $ trail ahead. I am just horrified by what the Lads are doing to prove THEMSELVES great---they wouldn´t even have the option if they had to do this on their own, but that doesn´t occur. I wasn´t an O´Reilly fan, but thought he offered, after the nonsense, a BALANCED rational view of the country and government, and miss the man. Now they will gun for Hannity, I am sure, and when that happens, there go their ratings in general.

As James Bond’s nemesis Auric Goldfinger famously observed, “Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence. The third time is enemy action.” On Tuesday evening, three prominent Republicans — Senator John McCain, Senator Marco Rubio, and 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney — endorsed the left-wing media’s preferred narrative and embraced the masked thugs of Antifa as heroes. McCain and Romney used almost identical language, bending their knees to the media narrative that only two factions were present in Charlottesville during the awful events of last weekend: white supremacist Nazis and “Americans standing up to defy hate and bigotry.”

Since last November, I’ve been the recipient of yuge amounts of criticism any time I’ve asked whether it’s time to begin those impeachment proceedings we all expect are imminent. Hoping for impeachment, the critics have said, is hoping that our president fails. But guys, we’re really, really far beyond that point now. If considering impeachment is like rooting for your airline pilot to fail, then listening without action to Trump’s self-important tantrums today is like watching your pilot pass out, and ringing for the flight attendant to bring you headphones as the plane careens toward land. Putting aside that our gilded

A foreign company hired by the U.S. government to mentor and train Afghan intelligence officers billed Uncle Sam for more than $50 million in luxury cars—including Porsches, an Aston Martin and Bentley—and the lucrative salaries of executive and their spouses, who didn’t do any work. The firm also spent $1,500 on alcohol and $42,000 on automatic weapons prohibited under the terms of the contract, according to figures provided by a U.S. Senator from a federal audit that has not been released to the public. It marks the latest of many scandals involving the free-flow of American dollars to controversial causes

The campaign spokesman for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign compared allied forces during War World II to Antifa protesters Tuesday night. Brian Fallon, who served as Clinton’s spokesman during her failed 2016 campaign, tweeted out a picture of Allied Forces invading Normandy. (Snip) “Also confronted the Nazis without a permit,” Fallon tweeted out along with a picture of the soldiers. Allied soldiers invaded Normandy June 6, 1944, a move that helped them win WWII. About 10,000 soldiers died the first day of the invasion. Antifa protesters, a collection of various left-wing groups, came out over the weekend to confront

Rep. Andre Carson is among sponsors of a U.S. House resolution introduced Tuesday calling for President Donald Trump to fire administration officials who have supported white supremacists. The house concurrent resolution, introduced by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), has around 40 co-sponsors. Citing weekend violence in Charlottesville, Va., it urges Trump to denounce white supremacists, neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan and fire administration officials who have supported or encouraged support for white supremacists. Jayapal specifically identified those administration officials as White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, Senior Advisor for Policy Stephen Miller and Deputy Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka

Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina warned President Trump on Wednesday that his “words are dividing Americans, not healing them” in the wake of the bloody clashes in Virginia that has sparked a national conversation about white supremacists and race. Mr. Graham also vowed that Republicans will “fight back against the idea that the party of Lincoln has a welcome mat out for the David Dukes of the world.” “Through his statements yesterday, President Trump took a step backward by again suggesting there is moral equivalency between the white supremacist neo-Nazis and KKK members who attended the Charlottesville rally and people like

Fox News´s Kat Timpf slammed President Trump on Tuesday for his "disgusting" press conference in which he again blamed "both sides" for the violence that occurred in Charlottesville, Va., over the weekend, stepping back from his direct condemnation of white supremacist groups a day earlier. I can’t believe it happened," said Timpf, a co-host of “The Fox News Specialists.” “It is honestly crazy for me to have to comment on this right now because I’m still in the phase where I am wondering if it was actually real life —

President Trump should have left well enough alone. His Monday denunciation of costumed sheet-wearers and Nazi wanna-bes could have cleared the way for Americans of all stripes to focus their outrage on things that matter more than presidential words. That would be the violence that is infecting our politics and the frightening acceptance of it as the new normal. But Trump’s defiance yesterday is sure to keep the media pot boiling over his rhetoric instead of an ominous reality. Namely, that real protestors don’t carry baseball bats, crowbars and mace. Yet Saturday’s bloody clash in Charlottesville showed that many on

A crowd of ignorant protesters pulled down a bronze Confederate statue that stood before a county government building in Durham, North Carolina — the angry national backlash to the Charlottesville brouhaha over the Robert E. Lee monument. This is not how civil societies operate. And yet this is what the left has brought, and now cheers. What’s next — burning books with offensive content? Burning books written by those who used to own slaves? At the very least, museums will have to go. The problem with revising history based on a standard of “feeling offensive” — as this anti-Confederate craze is rooted — is that someone,

Trump ignited a political firestorm yesterday during an impromptu press conference in which he said there was "blame on both sides" for the tragic events that occurred in Charlottesville over the weekend. Now, the discovery of a craigslist ad posted last Monday, almost a full week before the Charlottesville protests, is raising new questions over whether paid protesters were sourced by a Los Angeles based "public relations firm specializing in innovative events" to serve as agitators in counterprotests. The ad was posted by a company called "Crowds on Demand" and offered $25 per hour to "actors and photographers"

In Gainesville, Florida, workers hired by the Daughters of the Confederacy chipped away at a Confederate soldier´s statue, loaded it quietly on a truck and drove away with little fanfare. In Baltimore, Mayor Catherine Pugh said she´s ready to tear down all of her city´s Confederate statues, and the city council voted to have them destroyed. San Antonio lawmakers are looking ahead to removing a statue that many people wrongly assumed represented a famed Texas leader who died at the Alamo. Some people refused to wait.
